Langfang Sol-Bright New Energy Technology, Solabot Technologies, LEAPTING, Aegeus Technologies, and Vayu Solar were the top five robotic solar module cleaning equipment suppliers to the Indian solar market in 2025, according to Mercom India’s India Solar Market Leaderboard 2026 report. The top five companies shipped approximately 82% of the cleaning equipment used in solar projects during the year.

The Uttarakhand Electricity Regulatory Commission granted post-facto approval to Uttarakhand Power Corporation for an additional investment of ₹4.23 billion (~$45.35 million) in projects sanctioned under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme. The Commission has directed the DISCOM to furnish each investment approval petition, after clearance from the board of directors, for works to be undertaken.

The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) approved NHPC’s discovered tariff of ₹3.13/kWh for 1,200 MW of interstate transmission system-connected solar projects with 600 MW/2,400 MWh of energy storage systems. However, it only partially allowed an additional 360 MW of capacity under the greenshoe option.

CERC proposed a procedure for levying compensation charges to allow connectivity grantees additional time to meet certain milestones under the General Network Access Regulations, 2022. Stakeholders can submit their feedback by April 30, 2026.

The Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission issued a draft amendment to its Green Energy Open Access Regulations, 2024, to remove the requirement that consumers be connected at 11 kV or above to qualify for green energy open access. Under the draft amendment, eligibility would be determined based on a load threshold of 100 kW or more.

The Uttarakhand Renewable Energy Development Agency (UREDA) invited bids for the survey, design, manufacture, supply, testing, net metering, and commissioning of 6.5 MW of rooftop and small solar power projects ranging from 1 kW to 1 MW at various locations in the state. The successful bidder must provide a manufacturer’s warranty for the solar components to UREDA for at least five years and handle the operation and maintenance of the projects for five years.

Central Transmission Utility of India floated two tenders to select independent engineers for Southern and Eastern Region Grid strengthening and for transmission work to evacuate renewable energy from Karnataka. The last date to submit both bids is April 27, 2026. Bids will be opened on the same day.

The Ministry of Railways issued a tender to set up 1,445 kW of grid-connected rooftop solar projects at railway stations in the Guntakal Division of South Central Railway in Andhra Pradesh. The tender’s advertised value is ₹98.11 million (~$1.05 million). Bids must be submitted by April 30, 2026. The scope of work entails the survey, design, transportation, installation, testing, and commissioning of rooftop solar systems of capacities varying from 20 kW to 200 kW.

Maharashtra-based electrical appliance manufacturer Canbara Industries hopes to meet over 28% of its power needs from a 1.5 MW rooftop solar project it installed last year. The rooftop project at the company’s Palghar facility is expected to yield more than ₹22.55 million (~$241,795) in annual savings.

Jayram Industries won NTPC’s auction for the operation and maintenance of a 4 MW solar project with a 1.25 MWh battery storage system for two years at the NTPC Energy Technology Research Alliance (NETRA) building in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The 4 MW microgrid will power NTPC NETRA’s Phase I and II buildings, the hostel building, and support some pilot projects and installations.

Adani Electricity Mumbai Infrastructure, a subsidiary of Adani Energy Solutions, commissioned a 1 GW high-voltage direct current transmission link between Kudus and Aarey, enabling a greater flow of renewable power into Mumbai. The project, which includes a 30-km overhead transmission line and a 50-km underground corridor, has been engineered to operate within the constraints of a densely built urban environment.

GAIL (India) approved an investment of ₹38 billion (~$407.5 million) to set up 700 MW of solar-plus-storage projects in Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra. The projects comprise a 600 MW solar project and a 550 MWh battery energy storage system at TUSCO Solar Park in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh. The project will supply power under a captive arrangement for GAIL’s petrochemical plant at Pata in Uttar Pradesh.

Textile company Sangam India will procure hybrid renewable energy from a project of Clean Max Enviro Energy Solutions (CleanMax) to support the decarbonization of industrial operations across Rajasthan. The project combines 30 MW of solar, 20 MW of wind power, and a 2 MWh battery energy storage system to deliver round-the-clock power to five manufacturing facilities.
