Nagpur-based WorldOne Energies has announced plans to establish a 1 GW solar module manufacturing facility in Ontario, Canada.

The move is a part of the company’s strategy to meet growing international demand for solar modules and build cross-border partnerships. The manufacturing line will manufacture TOPCon bifacial solar modules.

WorldOne Energies Co-Founder and CEO Mark Garvin recently met with Maninder Sidhu, Canada’s Federal Minister of Export Promotion, International Trade, and Economic Development, to discuss advancing clean energy ties between Canada and India.

The company has an annual production capacity of 1.2 GW. It manufactures TOPCon bifacial dual glass solar modules, battery energy storage systems, and electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

It also offers hybrid solutions for energy management and high-performance solar inverters that optimize energy conversion for on-grid, off-grid, and hybrid applications.

Besides Canada, the company is exploring clean energy opportunities in Africa, the Middle East and Southeast Asia, the U.S., and the UK.

WorldOne plans to enhance its manufacturing capacity by expanding a 2 GW scalable cell facility to 5 GW. It also aims to increase its module production capacity from 1.2 GW to 10 GW.

In April, the company commissioned a 1.2 GW solar module manufacturing facility in Nagpur. The facility will produce N-type TOPCon mono and bifacial modules ranging from 525 Wp to 650 Wp. The manufacturing line involves an investment of ₹2 billion (~$23.4 million).

India added 5.3 GW of solar module capacity and 11.6 GW of solar cell capacity in calendar year 2024, according to Mercom’s State of Solar PV Manufacturing in India 2025 report. The additions were primarily driven by demand from the solar project pipeline and the reimposition of the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) order from April 2024.

The top 10 manufacturers accounted for over 54% of the module and almost 100% of cell production capacity as of December 2024.
