Telangana Invites Bids to Set Up 81 MW Rooftop Solar Projects

The Telangana Renewable Energy Development Corporation (TGREDCO) has invited bids to set up rooftop solar power projects with a cumulative capacity of 80.69 MW in 80 villages.

Bids must be submitted by July 24, 2025. Bids will be opened on July 29.

Bidders must submit a bid document fee of ₹118,000 (~$1,376.27) plus 18% GST.

The project will be divided into four clusters: Bonakal Mandal, Kodangal Mandal, Telangana State Northern Power Distribution Company (TGNPDCL), and Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company (TGSPDCL).  Bidders must submit the following bid security deposits per cluster:

  • Bonakal Mandal – ₹30 million (~$349,899)
  • Kodangal Mandal – ₹20 million (~$233,266)
  • TGNPDCL – ₹30 million (~$349,899)
  • TGSPDCL – ₹20 million (~$233,266)

Selected bidders must submit a performance security deposit of up to 10% of the contract value.

The scope of work encompasses the design, supply, installation, and commissioning of the solar projects. It also entails comprehensive maintenance for five years.

Selected bidders must adhere to the operational guidelines outlined under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana for project execution.

Successful bidders must pay TGREDCO facilitation charges of up 2% plus 18% GST on the actual project completion cost.

Only components complying with domestic content requirements must be used.

Bidders must have set up rooftop solar projects of the following capacity per cluster:

  • Bonakal Mandal – 7.32 MW
  • Kodangal Mandal – 4.83 MW
  • TGNPDCL -7.95 MW
  • TGSPDCL – 4.11 MW

Bidders must also have the following minimum annual turnover in the last financial year:

  • Bonakal Mandal – ₹439.4 million (~$5.12 million)
  • Kodangal Mandal – ₹289.5 million (~$3.37 million)
  • TGNPDCL – ₹476.8 million (~$5.56 million)
  • TGSPDCL – ₹246.8 million (~$2.87 million)

In April this year, another Telangana distribution company, the Northern Power Distribution Company of Telangana, issued multiple tenders for the installation of ground-mounted solar projects with a total capacity of 21 MW at 24 locations across the state.

In November 2024, TGREDCO issued a tender to empanel engineering, procurement, and construction service providers for setting up grid-connected solar projects of 1 MW in size, with a total capacity of 1,000 MW.
