					</table><p>India is moving to keep rooftop solar telemetry on India-based servers to protect data leakage, as the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (<a href="https://mnre.gov.in/en/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">MNRE</a>) advances a national, vendor-neutral data layer for inverters under the PM Surya Ghar program, which targets 10 million homes and 30 GW of capacity.</p>
<p>The draft framework standardizes how inverter-side devices authenticate and publish data to a centralized platform, aiming to mitigate cyber risk and enhance grid visibility.</p>
<p>The push is framed around energy sovereignty, amid concerns that some monitoring dongles and loggers have been routing data to overseas servers. The draft establishes a secure, authenticated data path, ensuring utilities maintain consistent visibility without compromising critical infrastructure.</p>
<p>Earlier this year, reports surfaced that the U.S. had discovered ‘rogue’ communication devices not listed in the product literature of China-made inverters, thereby raising cybersecurity risks.</p>
<p><strong>Integration Testing</strong></p>
<p>Under the draft Remote Monitoring System RMS <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/draft-guidelines-capture-secure-rooftop-solar-data" target="_blank" rel="noopener">guidelines</a>, each site uses a machine-to-machine (M2M) SIM-based communication unit, such as a modem, dongle, or data logger, placed beside the inverter. The device identifies itself using digital client certificates and International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) numbers, connects over encrypted channels, and publishes data using the Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (MQTT) protocol, as specified in IEC 20922.</p>
<p>Field equipment is polled over Modbus and Device Language Messaging Specification (DLMS). Messages include reserved headers such as IMEI, timestamps, storage index values, and rotating one-time password (OTP) fields. Store-and-forward buffering ensures that data collected during outages is uploaded when connectivity returns. Because inverters maintain lifetime counters, daily generation can be reconstructed even if packets are missed.</p>
<p>According to <a href="https://www.servotech.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Servotech Renewable Power Systems</a>, MNRE has begun integration testing on September 1, 2025, with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) connecting devices to a centralized national software platform over M2M SIM links.</p>
<p>Sarika Bhatia, Director at Servotech, said her company is aligning with the vendor-neutral open protocol to integrate with the national platform.</p>
<p>Another inverter manufacturer said MNRE is not seeking continuous streaming to the national platform at this stage. “For MNRE’s purposes, they don’t want continuous streaming — one daily submission of generation data, along with historical aggregates, is sufficient,” the company said, while distinguishing this from PM KUSUM, under which devices send live data every 10 minutes over MQTT.</p>
<p>Bharat Singh, Director &#8211; Sales &amp; Marketing at <a href="https://www.deyeinverter.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Deye New Energy</a>, noted that at present, there is no start date or mandate date for the integrated program. “Deye at present has a huge stock of inverters in India as per the forecast of the PM Surya Ghar program. A six-month prior intimation or a 6-month relaxation time should be provided for liquidating the stocks of inverters in India,” he said. He also stated that Deye will start to provide inverters matching these rules at the earliest from January 2026 onwards.</p>
<p><strong>India-based Servers</strong></p>
<p>Both manufacturers stated that the MNRE has set two clear expectations: data should be stored on servers in India, and it should be fed into a centralized dashboard, although the final design of that dashboard is yet to be decided.</p>
<p>The inverter manufacturer said BSNL is among the options under consideration for hosting. He also said MNRE is insisting on M2M SIMs for communication but has not mandated a particular operator.</p>
<p>“Many OEMs are approaching us for low-cost SIMs and monitoring devices to meet this requirement. We’ve already developed a low-cost monitoring unit to address this demand,” the second manufacturer said.</p>
<p>The manufacturer noted industry portals could help accelerate the rollout: “We’ve proposed that MNRE could leverage the portals that OEMs already operate, since every inverter company has dashboards, but their requirements are more specific.”</p>
<p><strong>Separate, Removable Loggers Favored</strong></p>
<p>Both manufacturers said the communications unit will typically be separate from the inverter. Heat and voltage fluctuations inside inverters were cited as technical reasons, while warranties and customer choice were cited as commercial considerations. “For string inverters, it’s almost always a separate unit, while microinverters often use wireless protocols like Zigbee or Wi-Fi to connect to a gateway device,” the manufacturer said.</p>
<p>Most systems support RS-485 internally, with external connectors such as USB, RJ45, and M16 seen in the market. Some OEMs use proprietary protocols that tie devices to their own loggers. “Either way, data is always encrypted, and there’s a handshake between the inverter, the monitoring device, and the OEM’s server. You can’t simply plug in and start reading or controlling the inverter without authentication,” the manufacturer added.</p>
<p>Singh noted that while both built-in and removable SIM-based dongles are available, the best solution is a removable SIM-based dongle, as it allows consumers to choose the service provider of the SIM for their usage in the inverter. The consumer will spend extra money on a dongle (SIM-based) because built-in Wi-Fi inverters are less expensive compared to a removable SIM-based solution.</p>
<p>Deye is also developing a two-path system in its IoT-based system. The first path will be for recording and storing data in the government portal, and the second path will be for accessing the brand app, vice versa. This also applies to the brand updating the firmware for better operation of the inverter.</p>
<p><strong>Grid Stability, Visibility, and Buffered Telemetry</strong></p>
<p>The draft guidelines frame the effort around secure data paths and standardized control. The manufacturer linked the data initiative to grid performance. “MNRE’s push is less about hardware redesign and more about data sanctity and grid stability. Today, many inverters don’t follow reactive power standards, creating voltage fluctuations that destabilize the grid.” The company said standardizing even one daily data packet per inverter would create visibility “without overburdening connectivity.”</p>
<p>Manufacturers say loggers incorporate store-and-forward mechanisms with onboard memory and backup power, allowing data collected during outages to be uploaded once connectivity is restored. Because inverters store lifetime counters, they said daily generation can be reconstructed even if some packets are missed.</p>
<p><strong>What End Users See and How Often</strong></p>
<p>Manufacturers said consumer-facing telemetry will continue on brand apps. “For homeowners, we emphasize showing energy generated every 10 minutes, since momentary power readings can be misleading,” the manufacturer said. “B2B customers, on the other hand, get both power and energy data for operational monitoring.”</p>
<p>Servotech said it expects the PM Surya Ghar portal to remain focused on program monitoring and compliance rather than becoming a comprehensive consumer dashboard.</p>
<p>The second manufacturer said, “nothing is formally documented” on timelines and described the process as “premature,” noting that expectations of four to five months have been discussed informally.</p>
<p><strong>SIM Supply and Cost</strong></p>
<p>Servotech said DISCOMs would manage data plans in many states while OEMs supply M2M-enabled loggers. Its inverters already ship with remote-monitoring dongles. Customers typically will not have to arrange SIMs themselves, though practices may vary by state. The second manufacturer stated that some models allow end-users to insert their own SIM cards and recharge data packs. Both pointed to small payloads and low recurring costs.</p>
<p>Manufacturers expect a modest increase in the price of compliant setups. The second manufacturer compared Wi–Fi–based residential loggers imported from China, priced at ₹600 (~$7) to ₹700 (~$8), with India-compliant SIM loggers at around ₹2,000 (~$23). The company estimated ₹2,000 (~$23) –₹4,000 (~$45) per site when a single communication device serves multiple inverters at an installation.</p>
<p>“The real bottleneck won’t be cost but availability. If MNRE mandates retrofits at scale, there will be a sudden demand spike that no manufacturer can immediately meet,” the company said, adding that regulation is more likely to apply to new installations going forward.</p>
<p>Servotech stated that its first program-compliant units are in the integration phase, with production readiness and nationwide distribution to follow after final protocol confirmation and successful alignment with the national platform.</p>
<p>Singh noted that installers or homeowners will have to spend anywhere between ₹1,000 (~$11)- ₹2,000 (~$23) per year on the cost of the SIM provider, along with a one-time cost of ₹2,000 (~$23) &#8211; ₹3,000 (~$34) for a dongle.</p>
<p>Singh also noted that there will be a delay in the supply of the new version of inverters to markets by distributors and trading companies, as they must first liquidate their stock of older versions of inverters. Therefore, the government must allow a relaxation period before announcing the deadline for starting to use compliant dongle/logger-based inverters.</p>
<p>Manufacturers widely anticipate a six-to-eight-month supply shortfall, given the increased demand for M2M-enabled loggers.</p>
<p><strong>Models and Warranty Links</strong></p>
<p>Manufacturers said the market is coalescing around two approaches: bundling approved loggers with inverters or creating an enlisted marketplace of MNRE-compliant monitoring devices from third parties, including white-label partnerships. “Our own logger, while more expensive than Chinese imports, is already compliant and ready to integrate,” the second manufacturer said.</p>
<p>The company also said warranties are increasingly tied to data communication, as diagnosing failures in sealed inverters requires telemetry. “Simply put, without communication, you’re blind.”</p>
<p>Singh noted that while the warranty won’t depend on the inverter connected to the national platform, warranty or service issues can be resolved only when it is accessible to brands to update the firmware, as 80% of issues are solved remotely by firmware updates.</p>


India Moves to Secure Rooftop Solar Data with Stricter Inverter Protocols

					</table><p>The landed costs for third-party solar open access projects <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/landed-costs-of-solar-open-access-projects-rise-on-higher-ppa-tariffs#:~:text=In%20Q2%2C%20the%20net%20landed,%2C%20Odisha%2C%20and%20Uttar%20Pradesh." target="_blank" rel="noopener">increased</a> in 11 of 15 states for high-tension industrial consumers, primarily driven by higher power purchase agreement tariffs, according to Mercom India’s Q2 2025 Solar Open Access Market Report. In the second quarter of calendar year 2025, India added approximately 2.7 GW of solar open access capacity. This represented a quarter-over-quarter increase of more than 143% and a year-over-year rise of over 60%.</p>
<p>Servotech Renewable Power Systems <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/servotech-bags-contract-for-1-2-mw-rooftop-solar-from-northern-railway" target="_blank" rel="noopener">secured</a> an order from the Moradabad Division of Northern Railway to install a 1.229 MW rooftop solar project at residential and service buildings, as well as level crossing gates. The project’s estimated contract value is ₹57.54 million (~$655,577). The tender was floated in February this year. The scope of work for both projects involves designing, supplying, testing, and commissioning the solar systems. The project must use Mono PERC half-cut type modules, string inverters equipped with maximum power point tracking and remote data logging capabilities, and aluminum mounting structures.</p>
<p>The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/government-unveils-geothermal-energy-policy-to-harness-earths-heat" target="_blank" rel="noopener">issued</a> the National Policy on Geothermal Energy to advance research, exploration, drilling techniques, reservoir management, and cost-effective power generation, along with wider adoption of direct-use technologies. Geothermal projects will receive the same support mechanisms as other renewable energy sources under the policy, including interstate grid access, interstate transmission system, and open access charge waivers, as well as must-run status, renewable purchase obligation eligibility, and participation in the Indian Carbon Credit Trading Program. The policy seeks to establish geothermal energy as one of the pillars of India’s renewable energy landscape, contributing significantly to national climate commitments and the 2070 Net Zero Goal.</p>
<p>The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/cerc-proposes-tightening-grid-deviations-by-renewable-energy-projects" target="_blank" rel="noopener">proposed</a> tightening the deviation settlement mechanism rules for wind, solar, and hybrid projects, effective from 2026. In a bid to enhance grid stability, it has proposed changing the calculation of deviation settlement to use the project’s scheduled generation instead of available capacity. The DSM for wind and solar projects from April 1, 2026, will be calculated as follows: Dws% = 100 x [(Actual Injection in MWh) – (Scheduled generation in MWh)] / [(X% of Available Capacity) + (100-X) % of Scheduled Generation) The Commission suggested a phased reduction in the ‘x’ value used in the formula to calculate the deviation in a time block for wind and solar projects.</p>
<p>The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/mnre-hikes-national-bioenergy-program-budget-by-%E2%82%B91-4-billion" target="_blank" rel="noopener">approved</a> a supplementary budget of ₹1.4 billion (~$15.94 million) for the National Bioenergy Program (Phase I), to strengthen the promotion of renewable energy through waste-to-energy, biomass, and biogas projects. Under the additional budgetary sanction, ₹375 million (~$4.26 million) has been earmarked for the waste-to-energy program, ₹525 million (~$5.97 million) for the biomass program, and ₹500 million (~$5.69 million) for the biogas program. With this sanction, the total outlay for Phase I has increased to ₹9.98 billion (~$113.61 million), covering the implementation period from April 1, 2021, to March 31, 2026.</p>
<p>Electricity grid authorities in India have <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/indian-grid-authorities-call-for-action-to-prevent-spain-type-power-blackout" target="_blank" rel="noopener">called</a> for a series of actions to prevent an Iberian Peninsula-type blackout disrupting power supply for hours on April 28, 2025. In August, officials from the Ministry of Power, the Grid Controller of India, the Central Electricity Authority, and representatives of state bodies convened to analyze the reasons behind the total voltage collapse in the Spanish and Portuguese electricity systems, which triggered a disconnection from the European electricity grid. The project’s estimated cost is ₹98 million (~$1.12 million). Bids must be submitted by October 7, 2025. Bids will be opened on October 8. The scope of work includes survey, design, erection, testing, commissioning, and comprehensive operation and maintenance for a period of five years. It also includes civil works wherever required, supply and installation of bidirectional or smart meters, and the supply of the balance of systems.</p>
<p>NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/nvvn-invites-bids-for-1-mw-rooftop-solar-project-for-drdo-in-rajasthan" target="_blank" rel="noopener">issued</a> a tender to develop a 1,000 kW grid-connected rooftop solar project at the Defence Research and Development Organisation premises in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. Bids must be submitted by October 7, 2025. Bids will be opened on October 8. The scope of work entails the design, engineering, supply, civil construction, erection, testing, and commissioning of the solar project. It also involves providing operation and maintenance services for 10 years. The scope of work also includes providing a remote monitoring system and the internet connection, including operational charges and other accessories for the O&amp;M of the system throughout the contract period.</p>
<p>The Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/thailand-invites-bids-for-280-mw-floating-solar-project-at-srinagarind-dam" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids to develop a 280 MW floating solar project at the Srinagarind Dam, Si Sawat district, in Thailand. EGAT’s fund will finance the project. Bids must be submitted by December 16, 2025. Bids will be opened on the same day. The scope of work covers the design, procurement, manufacture, fabrication, shop tests, construction, installation, testing, and commissioning of the floating solar project. It also includes providing insurance, project management, project guarantee, and equipment. The project must utilize double-glass crystalline silicon modules supplied by solar module manufacturers with a production capacity of at least 5,000 MW/year. <p>The company aims to leverage Rhine Solar’s existing infrastructure and expertise in solar module manufacturing to establish a foundation for large-scale module production in the country.</p>
<p>Servotech also aims to utilize Rhine Solar’s capabilities to meet growing domestic demand and establish itself as a key player in the global solar market.</p>

					</table><p>India’s solar open access capacity additions <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/solar-open-access-capacity-additions-in-india-slump-48-qoq-in-q1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">dropped</a> 47% year-over-year (YoY) to 1.1 GW in the first quarter (Q1) of 2025 from over 2 GW, according to Mercom India’s Q1 2025 Solar Open Access Market Report. Solar open access capacity additions also dropped 48% quarter-over-quarter from 2.1 GW in Q4 2024. Solar open access projects accounted for 19.8% of the total large-scale solar installations during the quarter. Of the open access projects installed in Q1 2025, 67.4% were standalone solar, 32% wind-solar hybrid energy projects, and 0.6% floating solar.</p>
<p>Servotech Renewable Power System has <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/servotech-wins-northeast-frontier-railways-7-8-mw-rooftop-solar-auction" target="_blank" rel="noopener">secured</a> Northeast Frontier Railway’s auction to develop 7.8 MW rooftop solar power projects in Assam’s Rangiya division. The projects estimated contract value is ₹336 million (~$3.9 million). The project’s scope of work encompasses the supply, design, installation, testing, and commissioning of rooftop solar systems with capacities ranging from 3 kW to 10 kW.</p>
<p>With a 55 kW rooftop solar power project in its Nellore factory, Iceberg Organic Ice Creams was able to <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/nellore-ice-cream-factory-switches-to-solar-saves-%E2%82%B9150000-per-month" target="_blank" rel="noopener">save</a> ₹150,000 (~$1,753)/month. When the company expanded to over 70 outlets nationwide, it resulted in increased electricity consumption.  In 2021, it decided to switch to solar power to reduce its rising electricity bills. Currently, about 80% of its electricity needs are met through the solar system and it has recovered its initial investment.</p>
<p>Indian Energy Exchange electricity traded volume <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/iex-green-energy-market-sees-47-increase-in-may-2025" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reached</a> 10,946 million units in May 2025, a 2.9% YoY rise from 10,633 MU. In May 2025, the country’s energy consumption stood at 148.7 billion units, down 4% YoY. The decline can be attributed to unseasonal rains and the early onset of the monsoon, which kept temperatures lower than usual, resulting in reduced electricity demand. The Real Time Market on the platform saw market-clearing prices plunge to near-zero levels due to a surge in power supply and a simultaneous dip in demand caused by unseasonal rains and thunderstorms.</p>
<p>Metals and mining company Lloyds Metals will <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/lloyds-metals-to-procure-28-mw-of-wind-solar-power-from-hexa-climate" target="_blank" rel="noopener">procure</a> power from Hexa Climate’s 28.2 MW wind-solar hybrid power projects in Maharashtra. Lloyds will acquire a 26% equity stake in special purpose vehicles, Hexa Energy MH3 and Hexa Energy for ₹100 million (~$1.17 million) and Hexa Energy W2 for ₹120 million (~$1.4 million). The wind-solar power project comprises an 8.4 MW wind power project and a 19.8 MW solar power project.</p>
<p>Automaker Maruti Suzuki India has <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/maruti-suzuki-solar-capacity-79-mw" target="_blank" rel="noopener">commissioned</a> a 20 MW solar power project at its new facility in Kharkhoda and added another 10 MW of capacity at its Manesar plant, both in Haryana. The company’s total solar capacity across its sites has increased from 49 MW to 79 MW over the past year. Maruti Suzuki India said it aims to achieve a solar capacity of 319 MW, with an investment exceeding ₹9.25 billion (~$107.63 million) by the end of FY 2031. The company installed its first solar power project in 2014 at its Manesar facility, which was later upgraded to 1.3 MW in 2018.</p>
<p>Kolkata-based solar module manufacturer Vikram Solar has <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/vikram-solar-gets-sebi-approval-for-ipo-to-fund-expansion-plans" target="_blank" rel="noopener">received</a> approval from the Securities and Exchange Board of India to proceed with its Initial Public Offering (IPO). The company filed the draft red herring prospectus for the IPO in October 2024. The IPO will consist of a fresh issue of equity shares worth up to ₹15 billion (~$176.25 million) and an offer for sale of up to 17.45 million equity shares by the promoter and promoter group selling shareholders. The face value of each equity share is ₹10 (~$0.11).</p>
<p>The Asian Development Bank has <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/protests-lead-to-adb-nixing-434-million-loan-for-1-gw-assam-solar-project" target="_blank" rel="noopener">withdrawn</a> loan approval of $434.25 million for a 1 GW solar project in Assam following a request from India’s Finance Ministry. The solar projects were to be implemented under the ‘Mukhya Mantri Sauro Shakti Prokolpo’ program. A 500 MW solar project and a battery energy storage system were to be set up in the state’s Karbi Anglong district. Another 250 MW solar project was planned in the same district, out of a total 1 GW capacity.</p>
<p>In 2024, RE100 member companies <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/businesses-are-powering-the-renewable-revolution-but-systemic-gaps-persist-report" target="_blank" rel="noopener">consumed</a> over 545 TWh of electricity. More than half of that power, 53%, was attributed to renewable sources. Yet only 42% was verified under RE100’s recognition criteria, revealing persistent gaps in data quality, regulatory frameworks, and market access. RE100 companies are businesses that have committed to sourcing 100% of their electricity from renewable sources by a specific target year.</p>
<p>Solar cell and module manufacturer Meyer Burger Technology has <a href="https://mercomindia.com/meyer-burger-shuts-arizona-facility-as-german-subsidiaries-file-for-insolvency" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> that its German subsidiaries, Meyer Burger (Industries) and Meyer Burger (Germany), have initiated insolvency proceedings as restructuring efforts were unsuccessful. Meyer Burger stated that it had made intensive efforts to keep the sites operational during the restructuring negotiations. However, the efforts yielded no success, and the company will continue the proceedings, together with a provisional insolvency administrator to be appointed by the court.</p>

					</table><p><a href="https://www.servotech.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Servotech Renewable Power System</a> has secured <a href="https://nfr.indianrailways.gov.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Northeast Frontier Railway</a>’s auction to develop 7.8 MW rooftop solar power projects in Assam’s Rangiya division.</p>
<p>The projects estimated contract value is ₹336 million (~$3.9 million).</p>
<p>The tender was <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/north-east-frontier-railway-rooftop-solar-systems" target="_blank" rel="noopener">floated</a> in November 2024.</p>
<p>The project’s scope of work encompasses the supply, design, installation, testing, and commissioning of rooftop solar systems with capacities ranging from 3 kW to 10 kW.</p>
<p>Servotech must use monocrystalline solar modules and include inverters with remote monitoring capabilities. The contract also covers five years of comprehensive annual maintenance for various buildings within the Rangiya division.</p>
<p>The modules used must be listed in the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers.</p>
<p>The projects must be completed within six months.</p>
<p>According to the tender, for solar power projects with a minimum capacity of 1 MW, bidders must have a local service center at Katihar, New Jalpaiguri, Siliguri, New Cooch Behar, New Alipurduar, New Bongaigaon, Guwahati, Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Jorhat, Agartala, or Silchar.</p>
<p>The service centers must be staffed with trained technicians and fully equipped with maintenance spares, tools, and instruments to address service requests from the railway authorities.</p>
<p>In December 2024, the Tinsukia Division of Northeast Frontier Railway <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/northeast-frontier-railway-mw-rooftop-solar-systems" target="_blank" rel="noopener">floated</a> a tender to provide 1.41 MW rooftop solar power systems at the station, service buildings, residential buildings, and gates under its jurisdiction. The advertised value of the project is ₹78.17 million (~$927,678).</p>
<p>In November 2024, the North East Frontier Railway <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/north-east-frontier-railway-floats-tenders-for-5-mw-rooftop-solar-systems" target="_blank" rel="noopener">issued</a> three tenders for a cumulative capacity of 5 MW of rooftop solar systems in Guwahati, New Guwahati, Goshala, and Nambari areas.</p>
<p>In November 2024, the Katihar Division of the North East Frontier Railway <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/railways-invite-bids-for-systems-in-katihar-division" target="_blank" rel="noopener">issued</a> two tenders to install a cumulative capacity of 3.4 MW of rooftop solar systems across railway stations, level crossing gates, service buildings, and residential buildings.</p>

					</table><p>Electric vehicle (EV) charger and energy efficiency products manufacturer <a href="https://www.servotech.in" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Servotech Power Systems</a> recently won an order worth ₹1.02 billion (~$12.31 million) for 1,500 DC fast EV chargers from Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (<a href="https://www.hindustanpetroleum.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">HPCL</a>).</p>
<p>In addition to this order, which consists of two charger variations of 60 kW and 120 kW, the company will also manufacture and supply EV chargers to original equipment manufacturers.</p>
<p>The company manufactures both AC and DC chargers that are compatible with different EVs.</p>
<p>&#8220;We are confident that our high-quality and technologically advanced DC fast EV chargers will help to establish e-mobility touchpoints, optimize transactions, improve availability, simplify discovery, and facilitate navigation for EV users. Our active support ensures a smooth transition towards a cleaner, more sustainable transport ecosystem,” said Sarika Bhatia, director of Servotech.</p>
<p>This is the second such order for the company recently. Earlier this month, Servotech <a href="https://mercomindia.com/servotech-contract-deploy-1800-ev-chargers-bpcl" target="_blank" rel="noopener">secured</a> an order from Bharat Petroleum Corporation for 1,800 DC Fast EV chargers to be installed pan-India.</p>
<p>Last year, Union Minister for Power and New and Renewable Energy R K Singh <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/india-aims-at-9-fold-in-public-ev-charging-2030" target="_blank" rel="noopener">informed</a> Parliament that India had only 5,254 public charging stations in operation. The government aims to install a total of 46,397 public charging stations in nine major cities by the end of the decade.</p>
<p>To boost public EV charging infrastructure in the country, the government has clarified that charging EVs through charging stations does not require licenses.</p>
<p>The Central Electricity Authority has also issued amendments to the regulations regarding technical standards pertaining to grid connectivity and the safety of supply for charging stations.</p>
<p>This year, the Ministry of Heavy Industry <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/fame-ii-budgetary-vehicles-increased-by-million" target="_blank" rel="noopener">increased</a> the budgetary outlay for the Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid &amp; Electric Vehicles program by $180.7 million in a bid to offer subsidies for EV manufacturers and increase the adoption of EVs in India.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/sales-volume-amara-rajas-q3-profits-up-15" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Amara Raja Energy &amp; Mobility recorded a net profit of ₹2.55 billion (~$30.7 million) during the third quarter of the financial year 2024, a year-over-year (YoY) increase of 14.8%,</strong></a> primarily driven by the increased sales volumes of automotive batteries in both domestic and international markets. During the quarter, the company posted revenue of ₹30.68 billion (~$369.7 million), a YoY increase of 15% from ₹26.64 billion (~$321 million) fueled by the increased demand for lead-acid batteries.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/jabalpur-municipal-tender-for-10-mw-solar-projects" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>The Municipal Corporation of Jabalpur has invited proposals from eligible consultants to set up 10 MW solar projects under captive/net metering mode to supply power to its high-tension connections.</strong></a> The last date for submitting bids is February 29, 2024. Bids will be opened on March 1. The corporation is responsible for supplying water to residents within its jurisdiction and operates multiple water pumping stations equipped with electrical connections at 132/33 or 11 kV Voltage. The corporation aims to transition to solar energy, within the existing regulations, to meet its electrical energy needs as much as possible.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/thdc-issues-floating-solar-park-in-karnataka" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>THDC India has invited bids from consultants for the preparation of a detailed project report and bathymetric survey of a 100 MW floating solar power project at the Kadra Dam reservoir in Karnataka</strong></a>. The last date for submission of bids is September 15, 2024. Bids will be opened the next day. The study’s scope encompasses an in-depth project report, incorporating an evaluation of suitability, engineering surveys, cost estimates, and assessments of technical, economic, and financial viability for solar power projects.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.servotech.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Servotech Power Systems</strong></a><strong> has been awarded a Letter of Intent by the Uttar Pradesh New &amp; Renewable Energy Development Agency (</strong><a href="http://upneda.org.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>UPNEDA</strong></a><strong>) for a 1.8 MW off-grid solar project</strong> with solar-powered modules of different capacities across the state. The project&#8217;s contract value is approximately ₹300 million (~$3.68 million). This is the second key project that Servotech acquired from UPNEDA after bagging a 4.1 MW grid-interactive rooftop solar power project from the authority earlier this month. The project will see Servotech perform key responsibilities such as empanelling and rate contracts for designing, manufacturing, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning off-grid solar plants throughout Uttar Pradesh.</p>
<p><strong>Inox Wind </strong><a href="https://www.bseindia.com/xml-data/corpfiling/AttachLive/ddff4887-0a0f-4f6c-a7a6-44e6d90549dd.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>announced</strong></a><strong> the commissioning of India&#8217;s first 3.3 MW wind turbine in the Rajkot district of Gujarat.</strong> The 3.3 MW wind turbine, developed with AMSC as a technology partner, features a 100 m tubular tower and 146 m rotor blades -one of the largest in its class. This wind turbine offers one of the lowest possible energy costs. The new wind turbine is dedicated to achieving India&#8217;s vision of 50% electric power from non-fossil fuel-based energy resources by 2030.</p>
<p><strong>Corio Generation will </strong><a href="https://www.coriogeneration.com/news/corio-generation-partners-with-q-energy-to-unleash-spains-offshore-wind-potential" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>partner</strong></a><strong> with Q-Energy, a global investment and management platform focused on renewable energy, to explore opportunities to develop floating offshore wind power in Spain.</strong> The two companies signed a partnership agreement and began preliminary work to identify suitable sites for floating offshore wind across the Spanish coastline. Spain is looking to increase the share of renewables in domestic electricity generation by 2030.</p>
<p><strong>Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar) and Germany&#8217;s RWE Renewables </strong><a href="https://news.masdar.ae/en/News/2022/09/26/12/16/Masdar-and-RWE-Sign-Agreement-to-Target-Key-Global-Offshore" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>signed</strong></a><strong> a Memorandum of Understanding to explore collaboration on developing offshore wind projects in various key markets.</strong> Masdar and RWE Renewables will explore the development of offshore wind projects in several countries and explore project opportunities identified by both parties.</p>
<p><strong>Leroy Merlin, France&#8217;s leading home improvement retail company, and Voltalia </strong><a href="https://www.voltalia.com/news-releases/news-release-details/leroy-merlin-chooses-voltalia-supply-solar-energy-its-sites" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a><strong> the signing of a sales contract to develop a new 30 MW solar power plant in the Centre-Val de Loire region. </strong>The agreement will be valid at a pre-determined tariff for a minimum of 15 years (with the possibility of extension). It will allow Leroy Merlin to source approximately 15% of its electricity consumption from renewable energy. The solar power project is scheduled to be commissioned in 2025</p>
<p><strong>Iberdrola and Solvay will </strong><a href="https://www.iberdrola.com/press-room/news/detail/iberdrola-and-solvay-team-up-to-produce-green-electricity" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>partner</strong></a><strong> in a new project to supply green electricity to Solvay&#8217;s projects in Tavauxand Saint Fons, France.</strong> Under the agreement, a 172-hectare site will be used to develop a solar power project, part of whose output will be purchased by Solvay for its industrial plants through a 20-year corporate power purchase agreement. The solar installation, which will be built and operated by Inderdrola Renouvelables France, will occupy 77 hectares of land and have around 100,000 solar modules. The project will produce around 75 GWh/year of power, making it one of the largest in Europe.</p>
