					</table><p><strong>Oman</strong> <a href="https://www.omanobserver.om/article/1192318/business/energy/oman-plans-four-1-gw-mega-solar-projects" target="_blank" rel="noopener">plans</a> to develop four 1 GW solar-based independent power projects (IPPs) from 2028 to 2029 as part of its strategy to generate at least 30% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2030. According to the <strong>Oman Electricity Transmission Company</strong>&#8216;s (<strong>OETC</strong>) Five-Year Annual Capability Statement (2026–2030), the solar projects will be located at the country’s Adam, Al Kamil Phase II, Thamrait, and Mahadha regions. The Adam Solar IPP is scheduled for commissioning in 2028, while the remaining projects are expected to be commissioned from 2029 onward. Oman is also setting up over 2 GW of wind projects through 2029. OETC expects the share of installed capacity from renewable energy to increase from 13.6% in 2026 to 45% by 2030.</p>
<p><strong>Oman</strong> <a href="https://renewablesnow.com/news/oman-awards-2-gw-pumped-hydro-500-mw-solar-projects-to-edf-led-group-1297268/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">awarded</a> contracts for a 2,000 MW pumped hydro energy storage project and a 500 MW solar project to a consortium led by <strong>EDF Power Solutions</strong> as part of its strategy to strengthen grid reliability and expand renewable energy capacity. Separately, the consortium signed a power purchase agreement for the 500 MW Al Kamil Solar project, with an investment of over OMR100 million (~$260 million). Oman also signed a memorandum of understanding for a 1 GW digital infrastructure platform supporting artificial intelligence and cloud services under Oman Vision 2040.</p>
<p>The <strong>Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency</strong> <a href="https://www.miga.org/ar/press-release/miga-increases-support-tunisias-energy-transition-new-guarantees-large-scale" target="_blank" rel="noopener">issued</a> a 20-year guarantee of up to €13.05 million (~$14.9 million) to support the development of a 100 MW grid-connected solar power project in Mezzouna in <strong>Tunisia</strong>. The project includes a solar project and 12 km of high-voltage transmission lines, with electricity supplied to Tunisia&#8217;s state-owned utility under a 25-year power purchase agreement.</p>
<p><strong>Iraq</strong> is <a href="https://qna.org.qa/en/news/news-details?id=iraq-aims-to-end-gas-flaring-by-2030-expand-renewable-energy-projects&amp;date=4/07/2026" target="_blank" rel="noopener">expanding</a> its renewable energy portfolio by developing the 1,000 MW Artawi solar power project as part of its strategy to diversify energy sources and promote sustainability. The solar project is part of the country&#8217;s clean energy transition and is being developed alongside initiatives to enhance its power system.</p>

Yellow Door Energy quoted BHD11.398 million (~$30.31 million), while ACWA Power submitted BHD15.440 million (~$41.08 million). Once commissioned, the Bilaj Al Jazayer Solar IPP is expected to support Bahrain’s clean energy transition and contribute to the country’s goal of sourcing 20% of its electricity generation from renewable energy by 2035.</p>
<p><strong>ACWA Maroc</strong> <a href="https://constructionreviewonline.com/40mw-khalladi-wind-farm-expansion-approved-in-morocco/#google_vignette" target="_blank" rel="noopener">received</a> official approval to expand its Khalladi Wind Farm near Tangier, <strong>Morocco,</strong> by 40 MW, increasing the project&#8217;s total installed capacity from 120 MW to 160 MW. Located at <strong>Djebel Sendouq</strong>, around 50 km from Tangier, the existing wind farm has been operational since 2018 with 40 Vestas V90-3.0 MW turbines. The facility generates approximately 397 GWh of power annually.</p>
<p><strong>China’s</strong> <strong>SANY Group</strong> <a href="https://egyptoil-gas.com/news/chinas-sany-to-establish-egypts-first-wind-turbine-manufacturing-plant/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">signed</a> a memorandum of understanding with the <strong>Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company</strong> and the <strong>New and Renewable Energy Authority</strong> to establish <strong>Egypt</strong>’s first wind turbine manufacturing plant and develop a 2,000 MW wind power project in the North Gulf of Suez region. The manufacturing facility, to be built in the Suez Canal Economic Zone, will produce wind turbines and components for domestic projects while exporting surplus production to regional markets.</p>
<p><strong>Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy</strong>, in a 50:50 joint venture with <strong>Hassan Allam Construction</strong>, secured a letter of award for the West Minya solar-storage project in <strong>Egypt</strong>, valued at approximately $560 million. Located in the Minya Governorate, the project will comprise a 1,000 MW solar project integrated with a 600 MWh battery energy storage system. The joint venture will undertake the complete engineering, procurement, and construction of the project, including the installation of solar facilities, battery storage systems, grid interconnection infrastructure, transmission facilities, and all associated balance-of-project works.</p>

Abu Dhabi plans to roll out hybrid solar-and-battery projects over the next decade.</p>
<p><strong>Oman</strong> <a href="https://qna.org.qa/en/news/news-details?id=oman-to-establish-usd-250-million-electric-vehicle-and-battery-cell-production-project&amp;date=10/05/2026" target="_blank" rel="noopener">signed</a> a $250 million investment agreement to establish an electric vehicle (EV) and battery-cell manufacturing facility in the Duqm Special Economic Zone. The deal, led by the <strong>Public Authority for Special Economic Zones</strong> <strong>and Free Zones</strong> and the <strong>South Korean</strong> firm <strong>EL B&amp;T</strong>, will be executed in two phases. Once complete, the facility is expected to produce up to 60,000 vehicles and 1.6 million battery cells annually. The project aims to build an integrated EV ecosystem, strengthen supply chains, and attract related industries. The first phase will cater to domestic demand, with future expansion planned across the <strong>Gulf Cooperation Council</strong>, the Middle East, and North Africa.</p>
<p><strong>Morocco</strong> and <strong>Norway</strong> <a href="https://www.ecofinagency.com/news-industry/0705-55365-morocco-and-norway-launch-carbon-market-cooperation-framework" target="_blank" rel="noopener">signed</a> a bilateral agreement to implement Article 6.2 of the Paris Agreement, establishing a framework for carbon-market cooperation. The partnership aims to support approximately 2 GW of renewable energy and battery storage capacity between 2026 and 2036 through a generation-based incentive program. It will enable the creation of internationally transferable mitigation outcomes while contributing to both nations’ climate targets. Morocco aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 53% by 2035 and raise the share of renewable energy in its electricity generation to 50% by 2030.</p>
<p><strong>KEC International</strong> <a href="https://www.saudigulfprojects.com/2026/05/kec-international-successfully-completes-and-energises-380-kv-transmission-line-linking-major-solar-power-substations-in-saudi-arabia/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">completed</a> and energized a 380 kV double-circuit transmission line connecting the Mowaih and Hodn solar power substations in Saudi Arabia. Spanning 103 kms and comprising 264 transmission towers, the project aims to strengthen Saudi Arabia’s power transmission network and enable efficient evacuation of solar energy.</p>

					</table><p><strong>Jordan </strong>has <a href="https://jordantimes.com/news/local/energy-ministry-launches-phase-two-of-municipal-solar-project" target="_blank" rel="noopener">launched</a> the second phase of a nationwide project to install solar systems on municipal buildings across the country. The initiative targets over 100 municipalities and 188 buildings. The project, costing JD3.4 million (~$4.8 million), will deploy more than 200 solar systems with a combined capacity of 3.4 MW. Officials estimate annual savings of 1,400 MWh and about $550,000, along with a reduction in carbon emissions of nearly 3,838 tons.</p>
<p><strong>Egypt</strong>’s ministries of electricity and finance <a href="https://sis.gov.eg/en/media-center/news/pm-witnesses-signing-of-renewable-energy-funding-deal/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">signed</a> an agreement with <strong>Tahya Misr Holding Company</strong> to finance large-scale renewable energy projects. The protocol covers 4,750 MW of wind power projects in the Gulf of Suez, Ras Shukeir, Galala, and Zafarana. It also includes 4,000 MWh of battery storage systems across key locations. The initiative aligns with the country’s goals to raise the share of renewable energy to 45% by 2028. The project&#8217;s aim is to improve grid stability, reduce reliance on fossil fuels, and support the adoption of cleaner energy.</p>
<p><strong>Israel</strong> <a href="https://www.power-technology.com/news/israel-dimona-solar-plant-approval/?cf-view" target="_blank" rel="noopener">granted</a> final approval for <strong>EDF Renewables</strong> to develop a 265 MW solar project near Dimona. Backed by the country’s energy and finance ministries and the <strong>Electricity Authority</strong>, the project will span approximately 3,000 dunams (~3 km<sup>2</sup>) and is expected to deliver among the lowest electricity tariffs in the country, at under NIS0.065 (~$0.018)/kWh. The project will be executed under a public-private partnership model, with EDF handling design, financing, construction, and operations for 25 years before transferring ownership to the state.</p>
<p><strong>Egypt</strong>’s <strong>Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy</strong> <a href="https://egyptoil-gas.com/news/esmat-advances-local-wind-turbine-manufacturing-plans/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">held</a> discussions with <strong>China</strong>-based <strong>SANY Group</strong> for advancing plans for a wind turbine manufacturing plant in the country. The project will be part of Egypt’s goals to boost local renewable energy manufacturing. Discussions reviewed progress since earlier talks in January and explored integrating SANY’s technology with the planned 2 GW wind projects in Egypt. The meeting also covered frameworks to prioritize locally manufactured equipment, reduce dependence on imports, and implement tariff agreements denominated in Egyptian pounds.</p>
