					</table><p><a href="https://jiipl.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Jayram Industries</a> has won <a href="https://www.ntpc.co.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">NTPC</a>’s auction for the operation and maintenance (O&amp;M) of a 4 MW solar project with a 1.25 MWh battery storage system for two years at the NTPC Energy Technology Research Alliance (<a href="https://ntpc.co.in/about-us/corporate-functions/netra/about-netra" target="_blank" rel="noopener">NETRA</a>) building in Noida, Uttar Pradesh.</p>
<p>The 4 MW microgrid will power NTPC NETRA’s Phase I and II buildings, the hostel building, and support some pilot projects and installations.</p>
<p>A microgrid is a localized electricity distribution network that includes solar panels for generation and battery energy storage for storing excess energy. The microgrid can operate independently of the main grid.</p>
<p>The tender was <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/ntpc-floats-tender-for-om-of-4-mw-solar-projects-in-noida" target="_blank" rel="noopener">floated</a> in November last year.</p>
<p>The O&amp;M period can be extended by six months at NTPC’s discretion.</p>
<p>The successful bidder will be responsible for O&amp;M of the solar projects and battery energy storage systems, operating round-the-clock in shifts, and for cleaning inverters, power conversion systems, inverter-duty transformers, and panels using an air blower at scheduled intervals.</p>
<p>Jayram Industries must ensure an uninterrupted power supply to all loads of the NETRA complex. It must also submit daily and monthly generation reports from the projects to NTPC.</p>
<p>In addition to the 4 MW solar-plus-BESS project, Noida Power Company is supplying power to the NETRA complex at 33 kV.</p>
<p>Last December, NTPC Green Energy <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/ntpc-green-energy-floats-om-tender-for-540-mw-solar-in-rajasthan" target="_blank" rel="noopener">issued</a> a tender for comprehensive O&amp;M services for its 540 MW solar projects in Nokhra and Devikot, Rajasthan, for three years. The tender covered the 300 MW Nokhra Solar Project located in Bikaner district and the 240 MW Devikot Project in the Jaisalmer district.</p>
<p>Earlier, VSL Renewable Services <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/vsl-renewable-wins-om-contract-for-ntpc-greens-810-mw-solar-projects" target="_blank" rel="noopener">won</a> the O&amp;M contract for 810 MWp of NTPC Green Energy’s 1,864 MW solar power projects in Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan.</p>

					</table><p><strong><a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/hpcl-7-mw-solar-maharashtra/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (HPCL) has invited bids to select an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor for a 7 MW solar power project in Maharashtra.</a></strong> The bidder must identify and offer suitable land on lease to HPCL directly or in sub-lease. They must also oversee the operation and maintenance of the project for ten years. The last day to submit the bids is January 1, 2024. Bids will be opened on the same day. Bidders must submit an earnest money deposit of ₹140,000 (~$1,679).</p>
<p><strong><a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/jayram-industries-lands-ntpc-battery-storage-project/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Hyderabad-based electrical infrastructure company Jayram Industries India (JIIPL) secured the contract from NTPC Renewable Energy (NTPC REL) for the installation of a 250 kW/1,200 kWh battery</a></strong> energy storage system supporting solar power projects at the Khavda Renewable Energy Park in the Rann of Kutch, Gujarat. According to a Mercom source, JIIPL will deploy the lithium-ion technology for the project. The agreement was formalized at NTPC REL’s Greater Noida office on November 30, 2023.</p>
<p><strong><a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/seci-subsidy-october-2023/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Solar Energy Corporation of India paid solar and wind power producers ₹10 billion (~$119.9 million) for the energy purchased in October 2023.</a></strong> The payment reflected a decline of 23% from the September disbursements. The disbursements increased by 24% on a year-over-year basis. In October, disbursements to solar and wind developers constituted 67.7% of the total payments. The nodal agency disbursed a total of ₹14.8 billion (~$177.1 million) during the month.</p>
<p><strong><a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/government-disburses-rooftop-solar-program-minister/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">To encourage the widespread adoption of rooftop solar, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) disbursed ₹9.08 billion (~$108.8 million) as of November 31, 2023,</a></strong> as incentives to distribution companies (DISCOMs) under the Rooftop Solar Program Phase-II. In a written reply to the Rajya Sabha, the Union Minister for Power and New &amp; Renewable Energy, R.K. Singh, informed the incentives were disbursed to support various tasks, from project assessment and implementation to grid connectivity and capacity building by DISCOMs.</p>
<p><strong><a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/maharashtra-university-rooftop-solar-project/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">College Of Engineering Pune Technological University has invited expressions of interest to set up a 660 kW rooftop solar power project with net metering under the renewable energy service company model.</a></strong> The University will make arrangements for the necessary space, including land, rooftops, and canteen sheds for the project. The last date for the submission of bids is January 23, 2023. Bids will be opened the same day. The net output power for the power project, assuming crystalline solar modules, is projected to be approximately 1,305 MWh on average.</p>
<p><strong><a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/soshe-epc-contract-hpcls-1-9-mw-solar-karnataka/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Soshe Power Tech, a Hyderabad-based solar power project developer, won the EPC contract from HPCL for a 1.9 MW solar power project to be developed at Hiriyur in Karnataka.</a> </strong>The scope of work will also include the operation and maintenance of the project for ten years. The company had quoted a contract value of ₹84.47 million (~$1.01 million) for the EPC and O&amp;M works. The project will be developed at HPCL’s Hiriyur Intermediate Pigging Station for Captive Consumption at HPCL Neriya Station.</p>

					</table><p>Hyderabad-based electrical infrastructure company, Jayram Industries India (<a href="https://www.sakhamurigroup.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">JIIPL</a>) has secured the contract from NTPC Renewable Energy (<a href="https://ntpcrel.co.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">NTPC REL</a>) for the installation of a 250kW/1,200 kWh battery energy storage system (BESS) supporting solar power projects at the Khavda Renewable Energy Park in the Rann of Kutch, Gujarat.</p>
<p>According to a Mercom source, JIIPL will deploy the lithium-ion technology for the project.</p>
<p>The agreement was formalized at NTPC REL&#8217;s Greater Noida office on November 30, 2023. The contract amount was not disclosed by the parties.</p>
<p>JIIPL clinched the bid during the e-reverse auction as part of the tendering process.</p>
<p>The project involves the BESS supply, installation, and commissioning, along with a three-year commitment to provide operation and maintenance (O&amp;M) services.</p>
<p>The tender for the project was first <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/ntpc-bids-bess-solar-projects-gujarat" target="_blank" rel="noopener">issued</a> in November last year and was <a href="https://mercomindia.com/ntpc-reissues-tender-bess-solar-projects-in-gujarat/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">re-tendered</a> in June 2023.</p>
<p>The battery storage must maintain a minimum capacity of 250 kW and 1,200 kWh throughout the project&#8217;s duration until the end of the third year, storing the power generated from the solar projects at the renewable energy park.</p>
<p>JIIPL has experience deploying grid-connected and off-grid BESS with a cumulative installed capacity of at least 150 kW and 150 kWh.</p>
<p>Earlier in June, JIIPL was <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/jayram-industries-wins-om-contract-65-mw-solar-project" target="_blank" rel="noopener">awarded</a> a contract by Bharat Heavy Electricals for operating and maintaining a 65 MW solar power project located in Neyveli, Tamil Nadu, for 19 months.</p>
<p>In April this year, NTPC Renewable Energy <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/ntpc-bids-largest-energy-storage-project-9000-mwh" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids for interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected energy storage projects of 9,000 MWh capacity with a minimum of 1,500 MW capacity to be installed anywhere in India.</p>
<p>Earlier, NTPC Renewable Energy had <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/ntpc-tender-250-mw-500-mwh-battery-storage-rajasthan" target="_blank" rel="noopener">issued</a> a tender for the design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, installation, and commissioning of a 250 MW/500 MWh grid-connected standalone BESS near Fatehgarh-III ISTS substation in Rajasthan.</p>
