					</table><p><a href="https://gridstor.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">GridStor</a>, a developer and operator of utility-scale battery energy storage projects, has acquired the 199 MW/796 MWh Birdseye battery storage project in Adams County, Colorado, from Accelergen.</p>
<p>The company said the acquisition is its fifth in the last 18 months and its second in the Western U.S. GridStor plans to construct additional standalone battery storage capacity in the region, where it said electricity demand is growing rapidly.</p>
<p>Once constructed, the Birdseye project is expected to provide power equivalent to serving more than 150,000 households during daily peak demand periods. GridStor did not disclose the financial terms of the transaction.</p>
<p>“We are actively expanding our portfolio by acquiring high-quality projects,” said Chris Taylor, CEO of GridStor. “One of our core strengths is efficiently transitioning projects from the development phase to operational status. We look forward to bringing more battery storage facilities online to support power system reliability for Western utilities.”</p>
<p>The project’s commercial operations date is planned for the end of 2028, with construction expected to begin as early as 2027. During construction, the project is expected to create an estimated 115 full-time jobs.</p>
<p>GridStor is backed by Goldman Sachs Asset Management. The company manages 530 MW and 1,300 MWh of battery energy storage assets in operation and construction. It also has a pipeline of more than 3 GW of battery storage projects in later-stage development across the western and central U.S.</p>
<p>In September 2025, the company announced the <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/gridstor-acquires-100-mw-400-mwh-white-tank-bess/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">acquisition</a> of the 100 MW/400 MWh White Tank battery storage project in Arizona from Strata Clean Energy, a vertically integrated solar and storage project developer. The project is expected to reach commercial operation in the first half of 2027.</p>
<p>A total of 7.2 GW of energy storage projects were acquired in Q1 2026, a 227% increase compared to the 2.2 GW in Q1 2025, according to Mercom’s recently released Q1 2026 Energy Storage Funding and M&amp;A <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/product/q1-2026-funding-ma-report-energy-storage/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">report</a>. A growing share of acquisitions included standalone battery storage and hybrid solar-plus-storage projects.</p>

<p><strong>GridStor, a developer and operator of utility-scale battery energy storage projects, </strong><a href="https://mercomcapital.com/gridstor-acquires-100-mw-400-mwh-white-tank-bess/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>announced</strong></a><strong> the acquisition of the 100 MW/400 MWh White Tank battery storage project</strong> in Arizona from Strata Clean Energy, a vertically integrated solar and storage project developer. The project is in in the state’s Maricopa County and is expected to reach commercial operation in the first half of 2027.</p>
<p><strong>Enfinity Global </strong><a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/enfinity-global-secures-%E2%82%B95-billion-debt-financing-from-india-infradebt" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>secured</strong></a><strong> ₹5.2 billion (~$59 million) in debt financing from India Infradebt for its 200 MW solar projects across India</strong>. Enfinity has a global portfolio of 36 GW of renewable energy and storage projects, including operational projects, under construction, and development assets. It also has an additional 37 GW under negotiation across the U.S.</p>
<p><strong>Nexamp, a developer of solar and battery storage projects, </strong><a href="https://mercomcapital.com/nexamp-secures-350-million-from-macquarie-asset-management/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>secured</strong></a><strong> $350 million in financing from Macquarie Asset Management </strong>to support the construction of its utility-scale solar and battery storage projects. The financing from Macquarie will be used to advance a significant portion of the company’s 6 GW project pipeline, which has been under development since Nexamp’s expansion into the utility-scale segment in 2021.</p>
<p><strong>Green Genius, a renewable energy company, </strong><a href="https://mercomcapital.com/green-genius-secures-30-million/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>closed</strong></a> <strong>€25.3 million (~$29.9 million) in financing for the construction and development of a 196 MWh battery energy storage project</strong> in Antkalniškiai village, Jurbarkas district, Lithuania. Swedbank provided the funding for the battery storage system to EKO Srautas, a company owned by Green Genius. The project is expected to reach commercial operation by the end of the third quarter of 2026.</p>
<p><strong>Velto Renewables, an independent renewable energy power producer backed by La Caisse (formerly CDPQ), will <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/velto-renewables-to-acquire-260-mw-solar-projects-in-spain/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">acquire</a> a portfolio of regulated solar projects</strong> totalling 163 MW from Helia II FCR, an investment vehicle in renewable assets launched by Bankinter Investment SGEIC, along with Plenium Partners. In addition to the 163 MW portfolio, Plenium Partners has added its own solar portfolio of 97 MW to the transaction with Velto.</p>
<p><strong>Entech Energy &amp; Services, a company specializing in renewable energy storage and management, </strong><a href="https://mercomcapital.com/entech-energy-services-acquires-159-mw-solar-projects/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>acquired</strong></a> <strong>a portfolio of 41 ground-mounted solar projects</strong> totalling approximately 159 MW of capacity from TotalEnergies Renouvelables France.</p>

<p><strong>Source Galileo, a renewable energy project developer, </strong><a href="https://mercomcapital.com/source-galileo-sells-battery-energy-storage-project/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>announced</strong></a><strong> the sale of a 40 MW battery energy storage system project to Trina Solar International System Business Unit </strong>, Trina Solar’s downstream project development arm. The Rigifa project is located south of Aberdeen city center in Scotland, UK. The BESS project secured planning consent from the Aberdeen City Council in November 2024.</p>
<p><strong>Amp Energy, an energy transition platform backed by the Carlyle Group, </strong><a href="https://mercomcapital.com/amp-energy-secures-financing-250mw-battery-energy-storage-project/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>announced</strong></a><strong> the closing of project financing to construct the first stage of its 250 MW/500 MWh Bungama battery energy storage system</strong> and 339 MWdc solar project located in South Australia. The non-recourse senior debt financing facilities for Stage 1 of Bungama BESS were provided by the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Westpac Institutional Bank, and Export Development Canada.</p>
<p><strong>R.Power, an independent renewable energy power producer in Europe, announced the </strong><a href="https://mercomcapital.com/r-power-secures-40-million-financing-for-68-mw-solar-project-portfolio-in-portugal/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>close</strong></a><strong> of an international project finance agreement totaling €38.6 million (~$39.92 million)</strong> with CaixaBank and Banco BPI. The financing will be used to develop a 68 MW solar project portfolio in Portugal. The financing agreement comprises the refinancing of already constructed projects and funding to build eight large-scale solar projects.</p>
<p><strong>GridStor, a developer and operator of grid-scale battery energy storage systems, </strong><a href="https://mercomcapital.com/gridstor-acquires-150-mw-battery-energy-storage-project-from-balanced-rock-power/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>announced</strong></a><strong> the acquisition of a 150 MW/300 MWh battery energy storage project</strong> in Texas from Balanced Rock Power, a U.S.-based solar and energy storage project developer. The project in Hidalgo County, Texas, is expected to reach commercial operation by the summer of 2026.</p>

The assets involved in the operation are an X-ELIO PV plant in Almeria, which is currently reaching the end of its construction phase, and two further plants, one located in Murcia and the other in Granada, both under construction since the end of 2023. The financing deal closed in February 2024.</p>
<p><strong>Sonnedix, an independent solar power producer, </strong><a href="https://mercomcapital.com/sonnedix-acquires-49-mw-solar-portfolio-in-portugal/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>announced</strong></a><strong> the acquisition of a 49 MW portfolio of solar projects in Portugal from Cubico Sustainable Investments</strong>. All the projects that were brought into operation between 2012 and 2014 are located across southern Portugal in the regions of Evora, Setubal, and Faro. The already-in-operation portfolio adds immediate capacity without permitting and construction risk.</p>
<p><strong>Standard Solar, a solar energy company specializing in developing and financing solar electric systems, <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/standard-solar-acquires-solar-project-portfolio-vermont/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> the acquisition of an 18.5 MW solar project portfolio</strong> in Vermont from MHG Solar, a solar project developer. The portfolio consists of six solar projects, all owned and operated by Standard Solar, and will provide clean energy to Vermont’s electric utilities under the state’s Standard Offer Program.</p>
<p><strong>RIC Energy, an independent renewable energy project developer, </strong><a href="https://mercomcapital.com/ric-energy-sells-community-solar-projects/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>announced</strong></a><strong> the sale of three community solar projects with a combined capacity of 20 MW</strong> in New York to Luminace, a provider of decarbonization-as-a-service solutions owned by Brookfield. The solar projects are located in New York State Electric and Gas and National Grid service territories in upstate New York.</p>

<p><strong>GridStor, a developer and operator of grid-scale battery energy storage systems, announced the </strong><a href="https://mercomcapital.com/gridstor-acquires-2-gwh-energy-storage-projects/"><strong>acquisition</strong></a><strong> of a portfolio of storage projects </strong>currently in development in the greater Los Angeles area from Upstream Energy. The portfolio of battery storage systems consists of multiple projects representing over 500 MW/2,000 MWh of capacity.</p>
<p><strong>France-based energy firm ENGIE has </strong><a href="https://mercomindia.com/engie-acquires-6-gw-solar-and-battery-storage-capacity-in-the-us/"><strong>acquired</strong></a><strong> a 6 GW portfolio of solar, paired storage, and standalone battery storage capacity from Belltown Power</strong> to add to its development pipeline in the U.S. These projects consist of approximately 2.7 GW of solar with 0.7 GW of paired storage and 2.6 GW of standalone battery storage. The projects are located across the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, Midcontinent Independent System Operator, Pennsylvania-New Jersey-Maryland Interconnection, and Western Electricity Coordinating Council.</p>
<p><strong>Bhutan is set to get its first utility-scale solar photovoltaic power project, with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) approving </strong><a href="https://mercomindia.com/adb-18-million-bhutans-utility-scale-solar-project/"><strong>financing</strong></a><strong> of $18.26 million for its construction.</strong> The project will have a capacity of 17.38 MW and will produce 25 GWh of power annually. The project will help diversify Bhutan’s energy mix, which relies on hydropower making the sector vulnerable to variations in climate. The Bhutan government will contribute $990,000 to the project. The financing from ADB also includes an $8.26 million concessional loan and an ADB-administered $10 million grant from the Asian Development Fund.</p>
<p><strong>Matrix Renewables, the TPG Rise-backed global renewable energy platform, <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/matrix-renewables-closes-financing-solar-projects/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">closed</a> construction loans, tax equity bridge loans, and back-levered term loans for the Gaskell West 2 and Gaskell West 3 projects.</strong> The financing of $217 million was provided by MUFG, HSBC, National Bank of Canada, and Commonwealth Bank and follows the $92 million in tax equity financing Matrix received from Bank of America N.A. in June 2022.</p>
<p><strong>Fotowatio Renewable Ventures, a developer of sustainable energy solutions and part of Abdul Latif Jameel Energy, has announced the </strong><a href="https://frv.com/en/frv-to-acquire-2-new-battery-energy-storage-projects-in-the-uk/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>acquisition</strong></a><strong> of two battery energy storage projects</strong> in the Midlands, U.K. The projects will consist of two lithium-ion battery storage systems totaling a combined capacity of up to 100 MW, allowing importing and exporting energy connected to the distribution network.</p>
<p><strong>Gore Street Energy Storage Fund (GSF), a London-listed energy storage fund supporting the transition to low-carbon power, announced that it has agreed to </strong><a href="https://www.gsenergystoragefund.com/content/news/archive/2022/311022" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>acquire</strong></a><strong> from Kona Energy a 200 MW construction-ready energy storage project</strong> in Heysham, North West England.  The project is GSF’s largest acquisition to date. With this acquisition, GSF’s portfolio will consist of 25 projects with a total capacity of 898 MW in operation and construction in the UK, Ireland, Germany, and the U.S.</p>
<p><strong>NextEnergy Solar Fund, a specialist solar and energy storage climate impact fund with a combined installed power capacity of 865 MW, has announced that it has </strong><a href="https://tools.euroland.com/tools/PressReleases/GetPressRelease/?ID=4181204&amp;lang=en-GB&amp;companycode=services" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>acquired</strong></a><strong> a 250 MW/500 MWh</strong> portfolio of battery storage projects and grid connections.  The strategic portfolio named ‘Project Lion,’ located in the East of England, was acquired for a consideration of £32.5 million (~$38 million) and will increase the current announced standalone battery storage in NESF’s joint venture partnership with Eelpower to 300 MW.</p>
