					</table><p>The net loss of lithium-ion storage solutions provider <a href="https://www.fluxpower.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Flux Power Holdings</a> narrowed to $1.4 million in the third quarter (Q3) of the financial year (FY) 2022-23 compared to the loss of $3.7 million year-over-year (YoY).</p>
<p>The company said that the loss reduction reflects higher sales and lower costs associated with revenue. However, these were partially offset by increased operating expenses related to the development of new products.</p>
<p>The revenue increased by 14% <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/flux-power-revenue-up-q3-2022" target="_blank" rel="noopener">YoY</a> to $15.1 million for January-March.</p>
<p>Flux’s cost of revenue declined by $0.9 million YoY to $10.4 million in Q3. The company lowered its cost of research and development by $500,000 in the quarter, which further aided a higher gross margin.</p>
<p>“Gross margin was 31% in the fiscal third quarter of 2023 as compared to 15% in the fiscal third quarter of 2022, reflecting a higher volume of units sold with greater gross margin and lower cost of sales as a result of the gross margin improvement initiatives,” the company said.</p>
<p>Flux’s adjusted Earnings Before Interest, Tax, Depreciation, and Amortization (EBITDA) loss decreased to $0.7 million from $3.7 million in Q3 2022.</p>
<p>During the January-March quarter, the company diversified its supply base by improving production critical material supply.</p>
<p>The company also expanded its customer base with two new large fleets of customers and long-term prospects for continued lithium adoption by replacing lead acid battery packs with lithium-ion.</p>
<p>Flux Power’s CEO Ron Dutt commented, “We recently announced a renewal of the credit facility with Silicon Valley Bank, now a division of First Citizens Bank (“SVB Facility”), of $14.0 million to support higher working capital requirements related to increased customer demand.”</p>
<p>“Although global supply chain disruptions have lessened, we increased our inventory to $21 million as of March 31, 2023, to accommodate the lengthening of forklift original equipment manufacturers’ delivery timelines being experienced in the material handling sector. To address disruptions and reduce excess inventory, we have improved lean manufacturing processes and supply chain management.”</p>

<p><strong>Nine Months (9M) 2023</strong></p>
<p>Higher shipments and sales fuelled Flux’s revenue for the 9M of FY 2023 by 85% YoY to $50 million.</p>

Battery Storage Firm Flux Power’s Q3 Net Loss Narrows on Higher Sales Volume

					</table><p><a href="https://www.fluxpower.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Flux-Power</a>, a U.S.-based lithium-ion energy storage solutions provider, posted a net loss of $1.7 million during the second quarter (Q2) of the financial year (FY) 2023 compared to $5.1 million year-over-year, driven by increased sales volumes and higher selling prices to existing and new customers.</p>
<p>For the October-December period, the company’s revenue rose by 123% YoY to $17.2 million.</p>
<p>The earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) loss stood at $0.9 million during the quarter, compared with a $1.5 million EBITDA loss YoY.</p>
<p>Due to the new orders outpacing shipments, the customer backlog increased to $30.4 million as of December 31, 2022, from $26.9 million in the last quarter. The new orders accounted for $20.7 million during the quarter, reflecting continued lithium adoption.</p>
<p>The revenue and profits were also driven by decreased operating expenses and partially offset by increased interest expenses. The company has also designed cost actions to lower material and assembly costs and simplify inventory requirements.</p>
<p>The company’s investment in research and development saw a considerable drop to $1.2 million from $2.1 million. Lower staff and costs for new product developments primarily drove the decrease.</p>
<p><strong>1H FY2023</strong></p>
<p>The battery storage solutions provider’s net loss during the first half (1H) of FY23 narrowed to $2.39 million from $9.21 million YoY.</p>
<p>The company recorded a revenue of $35 million in 1H FY23, a growth of 39.9% YoY.</p>
<p>The EBITDA loss for 1H FY23 decreased to $2.4 million from the EBITDA loss of $8.5 million recorded during the same period last year.</p>
<p>Lower operating costs with major deductions in the R&amp;D expenses also drove the rise in revenue and gross profits during the period. The R&amp;D expenses were reduced to $2.39 million, a 170% decrease compared to the same period last year.</p>
<p>Flux Power CEO Ron Dutt said, “Existing customers continue to drive our revenue growth, with greater than 95% of revenue during the second quarter attributed to customers with whom we have had long-term relationships. Although global supply chain disruptions have improved, we increased our inventory of raw materials and component parts to $19.5 million as of December 31, 2022, to mitigate supply chain disruptions and support timely deliveries. To address disruptions and reduce excess inventory, we have improved lean manufacturing processes and supply chain management.”</p>
<p>In January this year, the company announced an amended agreement to its revolving line of credit with Silicon Valley Bank to increase the available capacity of the facility from $8 million to $14 million to support the company’s higher working capital requirements related to increased customer demand.</p>
<p>According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, power developers and project owners in the U.S. would <a href="https://mercomindia.com/us-battery-utility-scale-storage-capacity-to-gw-by-2025/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">add</a> utility-scale battery storage capacity of up to 30 GW over the next three years.</p>
<p>Also, a recent report by the BNEF <a href="https://mercomindia.com/lithium-ion-battery-prices-rise-for-first-time-to-151-kwh/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">found</a> that after declining steadily since 2010, the average prices for lithium-ion battery packs across all sectors have risen to $151/kWh in 2022, a 7% rise from the year before.</p>

<p>The company&#8217;s net loss for the current fiscal year increased 22% to $15.6 million compared to $12.8 million in 2021. The increase in losses was a result of higher operating expenses, partially offset by a rise in gross profit and a fall in interest expenses.</p>

<p><strong>Fourth Quarter 2022</strong></p>
<p>The company posted a YoY surge of 83% in revenue at $15.2 million for the fourth quarter (Q4) of FY 2022, compared to $8.3 million in Q4 2021.</p>
<p>The company’s adjusted EBITDA loss totaled $2.2 million for the period, which it recorded a YoY improvement of 37% from $3.5 million in the same quarter last year.</p>
<p>Flux Power’s net loss amounted to $2.7 million for Q4, a YoY decrease of 27% from $3.7 million. The firm reasoned that the reduction in losses reflects gross margin profit from higher revenue.</p>
<p>The company said it received new customer purchase orders of $11.6 million in Q4 from existing and new customers.</p>
<p>Flux Power’s customer backlog reduced to $35 million as of June 30, 2022, compared to $38 million as of March 2022, which the company said was due to improvement measures in sourcing actions to mitigate component shortages.</p>
<p>The CEO said, “During the quarter, global supply chain disruptions have improved, and concurrently we have improved production process improvements and better supply chain management. We have worked to leverage increased pack volumes to re-source steel and board components to low-cost regions and to high-volume local suppliers and also identify more competitive carriers to reduce shipping costs. We plan to ship backlog and reduce inventory levels; as of the end of the fourth quarter, inventory levels had not yet decreased materially, but we anticipate reductions in the current quarter as we get traction on our plan.”</p>

Flux Power’s Revenue Up by 61% YoY to $42.3 Million in FY 2022 as Sales Volumes Surge

<p>U.S.-based lithium-ion storage solutions provider <a href="https://www.fluxpower.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Flux Power Holdings</a> recorded $13.2 million in revenue in the third quarter (Q3) of the fiscal year 2022, an increase of 89% from $7 million in the same period last year. The company said that the increase in revenue was mainly due to a rise in sales volumes and models with higher selling prices.</p>
<p>Flux Power reported a gross profit of $1.9 million in Q3, a year-over-year (YoY) surge of 12%. The company&#8217;s gross margin was impacted by the increase in steel, electronic parts, and common off-the-shelf equipment costs and fell to 14.6% compared to 24.1% in Q3 2021.</p>
<p>In March, the company introduced three new products — the L36 lithium-ion battery pack with a 36-volt option for three-wheel forklifts; the C48 lithium-ion battery pack for automated guided vehicles and autonomous mobile robots; and the S24 lithium-ion battery pack with twice the capacity of 210Ah for Walkie Pallet Jacks for heavy-duty applications.</p>
<p>Selling and administration expenses amounted to $3.9 million, a 3% rise from $3.1 million in the same period last year. The increase in outbound shipping rates combined with new hirings, temporary labor expenses, and increased insurance premiums contributed to the increase in expenses.</p>

<p>The company noted that it is identifying more competitive carriers to reduce shipping costs and utilizing lower-cost steel suppliers that meet required specifications to improve profitability and strategize supply chain management. It increased inventory to $20.9 million as of March 31, 2022, to mitigate the impact of supply chain disruptions and support timely deliveries. Flux also secured a $5 million credit facility with a $4 million signed commitment.</p>
<p>Flux Power reported a net loss of $3.7 million in Q3 2022, up 12% from $1.7 million in Q3 2021. The company said that the loss was due to the higher operating expenses of $6 million in Q3 against $5 million in the same period last year.</p>
