					</table><p>The Central Mine Planning and Design Institute (<a href="https://www.cmpdi.co.in/en" target="_blank" rel="noopener">CMPDI</a>), a Coal India subsidiary, has invited bids for the implementation of a grid-connected 8.5 MW solar power project for Central Coalfields Limited, Ranchi, at Bokaro, Jharkhand.</p>
<p>The last date for the submission of bids is August 31, 2023. Bids will be opened on September 1.</p>
<p>The scope of the work includes the design, supply, erection, commissioning, and testing of the solar project, along with five years of comprehensive operation and maintenance (O&amp;M).</p>
<p>The work is estimated to cost ₹ 62.9 million (~$760,717).</p>
<p>Bidders have to submit an earnest money deposit of ₹5 million (~$60,482). Bids will remain valid for 180 days.</p>
<p>The successful bidder must furnish a performance security deposit amounting to 5% of the contract value within 21 days of the Letter of Acceptance.</p>
<p>The project must ensure a minimum net electrical energy generation guarantee (NEEGG) of 17,354,400 kWh at the feeding point during the initial year following the project&#8217;s initiation.</p>
<p>Three locations have been identified for the installation and operation of the solar power plants, each with varying capacities: The Washery Site is designated for a capacity of 4 MW, the Parking Site for 3 MW, and the Damodar River Site is earmarked for 1.5 MW.</p>
<p>The power-feeding substation for the washery site includes a 33/6.6kV substation.</p>
<p>For the parking and washery sites, there are 33/6.6kV substations. At the Damodar River site, the power supply originates from the Kargali substation.</p>
<p>To be eligible, bidders must prove experience in similar projects within the preceding seven years from the bid invitation date.</p>
<p>This can be fulfilled by either three projects, each costing at least 20% of the estimated tender amount, two projects, each costing at least 25% of the estimated tender amount, or one project, costing at least 40% of the estimated tender amount.</p>
<p>Similar works refer to projects involving the design, supply, installation, and commissioning of solar photovoltaic grid-connected power projects with a minimum capacity of 1.7 MW.</p>
<p>The solar project must have been in operation for at least six months before the technical bid opening.</p>
<p>Bidders must have an average annual financial turnover of at least 30% of the estimated cost.</p>
<p>They must also demonstrate possession of working capital of a minimum of 20% of the annualized value or estimated value  of the project.</p>
<p>CMPDI earlier <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/coal-india-subsidiary-1-mw-solar-jharkhand" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids to install 1.03 MW of solar power projects for Central Coalfields in Jharkhand.</p>

Coal India Subsidiary Invites Bids for 8.5 MW Solar Project in Jharkhand

					</table><p>Coal India subsidiary Central Mine Planning and Design Institute (<a href="https://www.cmpdi.co.in/en" target="_blank" rel="noopener">CMPDI</a>) has invited bids for installing and commissioning 1.02 MW of grid-connected solar power projects in Jharkhand.</p>
<p>The successful bidder will also have to take care of the project&#8217;s operation and maintenance (O&amp;M) for five years.</p>
<p>Projects will comprise 860 kW of rooftop solar systems in the Barka Sayal area, Ramgarh area, and Barkakana area and a 160 kW ground-mounted solar project in the Ramgarh area.</p>
<p>The last date to submit the bids is March 4, 2023. Bids will be opened on March 6.</p>
<p>Bidders will have to submit ₹595,000 (~$7,205) as an earnest money deposit. The successful will have to submit 5% of the contract value as a performance security deposit within 21 days of the issuance of the letter of award.</p>
<p>The project&#8217;s estimated cost is ₹47.58 million (~$576,170).</p>
<p>The project must be completed within six months.</p>
<p>To participate in the bidding process, bidders should have completed three similar works, each costing not less than 20% of the project&#8217;s estimated cost, or two similar works, each costing not less than 25% of the estimated cost of the project, or one similar work costing not less than 40% of the project&#8217;s estimated cost.</p>
<p>They should have commissioned a solar power project of capacity not less than 100 kW in a single work order. Such a project should have been in commercial operation for at least six months before the bid opening date.</p>
<p>Also, the average annual financial turnover of bidders during the last three financial years should be at least 30% of the project&#8217;s estimated cost.</p>
<p>Additionally, bidders must submit the certificate of possessing adequate working capital (at least 20% of the estimated value of the work), including access to lines of credit and availability of other financial resources to meet the project&#8217;s financial requirement.</p>
<p>Any bidder from a country that shares a land border with India will be eligible to bid in this tender only if the bidder is registered with the competent authority.</p>
<p>If the contractor fails to maintain the required progress to complete the work, liquidated damages at 0.5% of the contract price, subject to a maximum of 10% of the total value, will apply.</p>
<p>CMPDI has stated that solar modules to be used for the project must be warranted for peak output power, which should not be less than 90% at the end of ten years and not less than 80% at the end of 25 years.</p>

<p><strong><a href="https://mercomindia.com/coal-india-epc-contractor-810-mw-solar-project/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Coal India has issued a request for expression of interest from engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractors for 810 MW of solar projects in Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam’s solar park in Bikaner, Rajasthan.</a></strong> The last day to submit the bids is February 13, 2023. The scope of work will encompass a complete turnkey EPC solution for the project, including the supply of solar modules and the balance of system. The supply of solar modules could, however, be excluded from the scope.</p>

Bids will be opened on February 28. The project’s estimated cost is ₹11.69 million (~$142,679).</p>
<p><strong><a href="https://mercomindia.com/indian-oil-invites-4-5-mw-solar-in-tamil-nadu/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Indian Oil Corporation has invited bids for the comprehensive operation and maintenance of a 4.5 MW grid interactive ground-mounted solar power project at Narimanam, Tamil Nadu.</a> </strong>The last date for the submission of bids is February 4, 2023. Bids will be opened after four days on February 9. The project’s estimated cost, including GST for four years, is ₹36.3 million (~$444,458).</p>
<p><strong><a href="https://mercomindia.com/totalenergies-half-300-million-renewables-portfolio/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">France-based energy conglomerate TotalEnergies said it had sold 50% of a 234 MW portfolio of renewable projects to insurance group Crédit Agricole Assurances.</a></strong> The company said that the transaction implied an enterprise value of $300 million (100%) for the portfolio, which is equivalent to 16 times the EBITDA. The portfolio includes 29 solar and wind projects, of which 25 projects totaling 180 MW are already operational while four others of 54 MW capacity will be commissioned in the first half of 2023, TotalEnergies said.</p>
<p><strong><a href="https://mercomindia.com/stanford-find-reason-failure-of-lithium-batteries/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Researchers from Stanford University and SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory said they had solved the mystery behind the persistent problem of short-circuit and failure in new lithium metal batteries.</a> </strong>The team identified that the problem comes down to nanoscale defects and mechanical stress, especially during potent charging.</p>

<p>Bidders will have to furnish ₹3.98 million (~$48,577) as an earnest money deposit. The successful bidder must furnish an amount equivalent to 5% of the contract amount as a performance security deposit within 21 days from the date of issuance of the letter of award.</p>
<p>Bidders should have completed three similar works, each costing not less than 20% of the estimated project&#8217;s cost, or two similar projects, each costing not less than 25% of the project&#8217;s cost, or one similar project costing at least 40% of the project&#8217;s estimated cost in the last seven years.</p>
<p>They should have completed a project of 1 MW or higher capacity in the last seven years. The project should have been operational for at least six months before the bid opening date.</p>
<p>The average annual financial turnover of bidders during the last three years should be at least 30% of the estimated project&#8217;s cost.</p>
<p>Additionally, bidders must submit a certificate of possessing adequate working capital, which should be at least 20% of the estimated project&#8217;s cost, including access to lines of credit and availability of other financial resources to meet the financial requirements of the project.</p>
<p>Only Class-I and Class-II local suppliers are eligible to bid in this tender. A Class-I local supplier is a supplier whose goods, services, or works offered for procurement have local content equal to or more than 50%, whereas a Class-II local supplier is a supplier whose goods, services, or works offered for procurement has local content more than 20% but less than 50%.</p>
<p>Any bidder from a country that shares a land border with India will be eligible to bid in this tender.</p>
