MAHAPREIT Floats Land and Transmission Tender for 3 MW Solar Project

Mahatma Phule Renewable Energy and Infrastructure Technology (MAHAPREIT) has issued a tender for land development and power evacuation works for a 3 MW solar project with a 33 kW substation for the National Cancer Institute, Nagpur, Maharashtra.
The solar project is spread across Maharashtra’s Kelapur and Wardha districts.
Bids must be submitted by December 29, 2025. Bids will be opened on December 30, 2025.
Bidders must furnish an earnest money deposit of ₹400,000 (~$4,424.98) and a document fee of ₹10,000 (~$110.62) plus 18% GST.
Selected bidders must submit a contract performance cum security guarantee of 5% of the contract value.
The scope of work entails the design, fabrication, galvanization, testing, erection of poles, bay construction works, stringing, testing, and commissioning it also involves providing operation and maintenance services for five years.
The project area is 15 acres.
Successful bidders must provide power evacuation and transmission infrastructure up to the interconnection point of the state transmission utility. They must undertake land arrangement, cutting and filling, and removal of shrubs, trees, and bushes.
They must provide internal roads and drainage for the project. The scope of work also includes identifying the pooling substation for the interconnection of the transmission line and obtaining connectivity for the project. Additionally, it involves making power evacuation arrangements and integrating the project with the 33 kV pooling substation via an overhead transmission line.
Successful bidders must undertake the bay construction at the pooling substation and connect the project to all the necessary infrastructure. They must also design or use proven foundation designs for all types of towers, including special towers.
They must also obtain the right-of-way for the overhead transmission line.
The project must be completed within 100 days.
Delays in project completion will attract liquidated damages capped at 5% of the contract value plus applicable GST.
Bidders must have executed at least one transmission line with a minimum 2 km length and a voltage level of at least 33 kV in the last five years ending a month before the tender issue date. This transmission line must have been operational for a least one year ending a month before the tender issue date.
They must have five years of experience in civil works, including road and land development, and associated civil works for developing solar parks or projects. They must have executed a work order worth at least ₹10 million (~$110,624.4) and a total of ₹40 million (~$442,497.6) in the preceding five years.
Bidders must have a minimum annual average turnover of ₹10 million (~$110,624.4) in the previous three financial years. They must have had a positive net worth during the last financial year.
In September this year, MAHAPREIT invited bids to empanel consultants to prepare pre-feasibility and detailed project reports, as well as financial models, for rooftop and ground-mounted solar projects.
