GREW Solar Secures ₹4.3 Billion Solar Module Supply Order

The company will supply G12R solar modules for utility-scale projects across India

Gujarat-based GREW Solar has secured a repeat order worth ₹4.3 billion (~$47.3 million) to supply G12R solar modules from an independent power producer (IPP).

The modules will be deployed across the customer’s upcoming utility-scale solar projects at multiple locations across India.

The company will supply G12R modules based on N-type TOPCon cell technology. According to GREW Solar, the modules are designed for utility-scale applications and offer higher energy generation and efficiency.

GREW Solar, a Chiripal Group venture,  operates a 6.5 GW solar module manufacturing facility in Dudu, Rajasthan, and plans to increase its capacity to 11 GW.

The company is also setting up an 8 GW solar cell manufacturing facility in Narmadapuram, Madhya Pradesh.

GREW said it is expanding its presence in domestic and international markets.

In March, GREW Solar secured an order worth approximately ₹5 billion (~$53 million) from a domestic IPP for the supply of M10R TOPCon solar modules.

In February, the company raised ₹10.5 billion (~$118.4 million) in a funding round led by Bay Capital Investment to expand manufacturing capacity at the Dudu facility and its upcoming plant in Madhya Pradesh.

Last December, GREW Solar secured a contract valued at over ₹20.28 billion (~$225.82 million) from NTPC Renewable Energy to supply high-efficiency solar modules with an approximate capacity of 1,464.5 MW for power projects across Uttar Pradesh.

In an interview with Mercom India on the sidelines of the Mercom India Renewables Summit 2026, Hardip Singh, Chief Operating Officer at GREW Solar, said the company expects India’s 70-80 GW pipeline of bid-out non-Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) projects, including nearly 40 GW with signed power purchase agreements, to support module demand over the next 18 months.

The company expects non-ALMM modules to account for about 70% of demand over the next six months, with the mix potentially reversing by 2027-28. The company’s 8 GW cell line has commenced operations. It also plans to commission approximately 3 GW of its 8 GW ingot and wafer capacity by March 2028 and is exploring export opportunities, particularly in Europe.
