The Gujarat Industries Power Company Limited (GIPCL) has tendered 150 MW of grid-connected solar photovoltaic (PV) projects to be developed in Gujarat Solar Park, Charanka Village. The bid-submission deadline is January 15, 2018.

The capacity tendered comprises two grid-connected solar projects of 75 MW each. The GIPCL is tendering 75 MW of grid-connected solar PV on behalf of Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited (GSECL) and 75 MW of grid-connected solar PV for captive use. A pre-bid meeting will be held on January 2, 2018.

This is an Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) tender and the scope of work includes design, engineering, supply, procurement, construction, and commissioning of the grid-connected solar projects.

The successful bidder/s will have to provide Operation and Maintenance (O&M) services for a 10-year period. The bidders must also provide a bank guarantee against the warranty of their PV modules. The project completion time frame is one year from the date the Letter of Intent (LoI) is issued.

According to Mercom’s India Solar Project Tracker, GSECL and GIPCL won grid-connected solar PV projects of 75 MW each by quoting a tariff of ₹2.66 (~$0.0415)/kWh and 2.67 (~$0.0417)/kWh respectively in Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL)’s recently-concluded 500 MW solar auction.

Power generated from these projects will be supplied to GUVNL for a period of 25 years.
