Renewable energy company Avaada Group has commissioned 11 solar power projects totaling 35 MW in the Yavatmal district of Maharashtra under the Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana (MSKVY).

The projects include a 4 MW project in Kinhi village, 3 MW in Baldi, another 3 MW in Dongarkharda, 2 MW in Bansi, 2 MW in Patan, 5 MW in Mhasola, 2 MW in Galwa, 4 MW in Pathrad, 4 MW in Parjana, 3 MW at Sawargaon, and 3 MW at Sarfali.

A total of around 14,893 farmers will benefit from these solar projects for their agricultural activities across nearly 167 villages.

Avaada Group is executing over 1,132 MW of solar power projects across key districts, including Nashik, Pune, Sangli, Yavatmal, Ahmednagar, and Beed under MSKVY.

The second phase of MSKVY aims to solarize 30% of agricultural feeders by undertaking 7,000 MW of decentralized solar projects, i.e., 0.5–25 MW, located near high-agriculture-load substations.

In March this year, Avaada inaugurated a 1.5 GW solar module manufacturing gigafactory in Dadri, Noida. The plant can produce M10 and G12 cells, with an annual capacity of 1.2 GW for M10 and 1.5 GW for G12 modules, and is currently producing 5,800 modules daily. It also laid the foundation for a 5 GW solar manufacturing unit at Ecotech, Greater Noida.

Avaada Group is targeting 11 GW of renewable energy by 2026. It raised over $1 billion from Brookfield’s Energy Transition Fund to support its green hydrogen and green ammonia projects in India.

Last year, the company closed a ₹5.97 billion (~$71 million) refinancing deal with NIIF Infrastructure Finance for its commercial and industrial solar projects in Karnataka and Maharashtra. The solar projects supply electricity to various companies, including Bharati Airtel, Motherson, Bharat Forge, STT, Nxtra Data, and Lumax.

In April 2024, Avaada Energy closed a ₹44.71 billion (~$535.3 million) refinancing deal with the National Bank for Financing Infrastructure and Development for four interstate transmission system-connected solar projects with a combined capacity of 1.7 GW in Rajasthan.
