Gujarat-based solar company Ahasolar Technologies has received a work order for providing owner’s engineering and project management consultancy services for an 875 MW solar power project from Coal India (CIL) Rajasthan Akshay Urja.

The project is located at Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam’s 2,000 MW Solar Park in Pugal, Bikaner, Rajasthan.

The estimated cost of the work is ₹11.8 million (~$131,268).

The duration of the work is 18 months from the date of receipt of the work order.

The tender was issued in August this year.

Ahasolar will support the construction and commissioning of the solar project by reviewing, checking, and approving EPC contractor drawings and documents, including design basis, engineering specifications, layouts, civil and electrical drawings, control and metering station designs, unit substations, internal lines, trenches, earthing, lighting, and site development works.

They will also verify the bill of materials, construction and erection schedules, QA/QC documents, including manufacturing and site quality plans, and test procedures, and ensure that documentation and plans submitted by the EPC contractor align with project requirements.

During execution, Ahasolar will provide on-site supervision and inspections for civil works, structure erection, module installation, inverter and balance-of-system equipment installation, and will witness pre-commissioning and commissioning tests, validating results and supporting the resolution of deviations.

They will monitor progress through regular reporting and schedule tracking, review O&M documentation, and oversee compliance with environmental and social safeguard requirements during construction and commissioning.

The scope also includes inspection and quality checks of major equipment at manufacturers’ works within India, with provision for about 45 factory inspection visits for the project. The scope is indicative and may include any additional activities required to complete these services successfully.

In August this year, Ahasolar Technologies secured a project management consultancy contract from Singareni Collieries Company for establishing a 107 MW solar project.
