Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) has issued a request for selection to set up 500 MW rooftop solar projects at government, semi-government, and other institutions in Uttar Pradesh.
Bids must be submitted by May 16, 2025. Bids will be opened on May 17.
Bidders must pay a document processing fee of ₹10,000 (~$117.13) per quoted bid capacity up to ₹500,000 (~$5,856). They must also furnish an earnest money deposit of ₹100,000 (~$1,171.2) per quoted bid capacity.
Selected bidders must submit a performance bank guarantee of ₹1 million (~$11,712.6) per signed capacity.
The scope of work entails the design, engineering, erection, warranty, testing, and commissioning of the solar projects. It also involves submitting project proposals to UPNEDA and ensuring net metering/net billing per the Uttar Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission Regulation, 2019.
Successful bidders must provide operations and maintenance services for 25 years.
They must use solar modules from the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers. The modules must also qualify under the latest International Electrotechnical Commission or equivalent Bureau of Indian Standards requirements.
Bidders must have designed, engineered, erected, tested, and commissioned solar projects with a minimum capacity of 1,500 kW under the renewable energy service company or capital expenditure mode in the last five years.
They must have a net worth of over ₹8 million (~$93,701.5)/MW of the quoted capacity. Bidders without any financial experience must be registered with the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion under the renewable energy sector.
In March this year, UPNEDA invited bids to implement 11 kW to 50 kW on-grid hybrid rooftop solar power projects with a battery backup on multiple government buildings across Uttar Pradesh. The project’s tentative capacity is 2 MW.
In January, the Uttar Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission approved UPNEDA’s revised tender to supply 3,205 MW of solar power to UPPCL under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan Component C2.
