					</table><p>Kerala State Electronics Development Corporation (<a href="https://www.keltron.org/index.php" target="_blank" rel="noopener">KELTRON</a>) has invited expressions of interest (EoI) to empanel engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractors for installing solar power projects and solar streetlights on a turnkey basis in the state.</p>
<p>The selected contractors are required to undertake the project&#8217;s operation and maintenance (O&amp;M) for five years from the date of successful commissioning.</p>
<p>The validity of the empanelment will be for one year. Bidders must submit a tender fee of ₹1,000 (~$12.25) plus applicable goods and services tax (GST).</p>
<p>The last date to submit the bids online is December 2, 2022. They will be opened on December 5.</p>
<p>After the empanelment, KELTRON will conduct project-wise bidding amongst them to select EPC-cum-O&amp;M contractors for the development of any new solar projects.</p>
<p>The EPC-cum-O&amp;M contractors will be empaneled under two following categories:</p>
<p>Category I: Bidders will be required to set up solar systems up to 100 kW capacity or 50 solar streetlights.</p>
<p>Category II: Bidders will be required to set up solar systems above 100 kW capacity or 100 solar streetlights.</p>
<p>The bidders can choose to apply for either one or both categories.</p>
<p>According to the terms of the bid, the eligible participants must have an office in Kerala, which should be operational for the last three years. They should have at least one service center across the state of Kerala.</p>
<p>To be eligible for Category I, bidders should have successfully designed, supplied, erected, and commissioned grid-connected solar power projects of a cumulative installed capacity of 100 kW or higher in the last five financial years.</p>
<p>Out of this, at least one installed project should be of 10 kW or higher capacity at a single location and must be operational for at least six months before the bid submission date.</p>
<p>Further, the qualification criteria for streetlight EPC contractor requires experience in the successful design, supply, and commissioning of at least 50 solar streetlights or higher in the last five years.</p>
<p>Out of this, at least one installation should be of 20 streetlights or higher at a single location and must be in operation for at least six months before the bid opening date.</p>
<p>For Category II, bidders should have successfully designed, supplied, erected, and commissioned grid-connected solar power projects of a cumulative installed capacity of 250 kW or higher in the last five years.</p>
<p>Additionally, one of the installed projects should be of 50 kW or higher capacity at a single location. The project must be operational for at least six months prior to the bid submission date.</p>
<p>For solar streetlights under Category II, applicants should have successfully designed, supplied, and commissioned 100 or more solar streetlights in the last five financial years, out of which at least one installation should be of 50 or more streetlights at a single location. The streetlights must be operational for at least six months before the bid opening date.</p>
<p>The average annual turnover of bidders under both categories must be equal to or more than ₹10 million (~$122,300) during the last three financial years. Also, the net worth as of the last date of each of the previous three financial years should be positive.</p>
<p>Last November, KELTRON <a href="https://mercomindia.com/kerala-floats-tender-solar-systems/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">floated</a> a rate contract tender to empanel vendors to install and commission solar power projects.</p>
<p>Earlier, KELTRON had <a href="https://mercomindia.com/keltron-floats-solar-modules-manufacturers/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids for supplying 1,604 multicrystalline solar modules of 330W output for a 1 MW solar project at Ramakkalmedu in the Idukki district of Kerala.</p>

KELTRON Invites EoIs from Solar EPC Contractors for Projects in Kerala

<p>REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (<a href="https://www.recpdcl.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">RECPDCL</a>) has issued an expression of interest (EoI) for empanelment of engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC)-cum- operation and maintenance (O&amp;M) contractors for development and O&amp;M of solar projects.</p>
<p>RECPDCL is a wholly-owned subsidiary of <a href="https://www.recindia.nic.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">REC Limited</a>.</p>
<p>The last date to submit bids is November 15, 2021. The bids will be opened the same day. The pre-bid meeting will take place on November 8.</p>
<p>The company has assigned five categories based on the capacity of solar projects. Rooftop solar projects under 500 kW capacity will be under category A, while above 500 kW will be in Category B.</p>
<p>Ground-mounted solar projects below 5 MW will be under Category C and above 5 MW capacity in Category D. Category E is reserved for installing and supplying solar streetlights.</p>
<p>The successful bidders should submit ₹100,000 (~$1,337) as a security deposit for categories A, B, and E, within 30 days of empanelment. For Category C and D, the successful bidders have to submit ₹200,000 (~$2675.75).</p>

<p>Bidders must have installed over 400 kW to 600 kW of rooftop solar projects in the last five years through a single work order to qualify under category A. In the previous three financial years, the bidders’ average annual turnover should be over ₹20 million (~$267,503). Bidders who have been in operation for over five years must have installed over 600 kW of rooftop solar projects. In the previous three financial years, the bidder’s average annual turnover should be over ₹30 million (~$401,254).</p>
<p>For Category B, bidders should have installed more than 1.5 MW to 2.6 MW of rooftop solar projects in the last five years. In the previous three financial years, the bidders’ average annual turnover must be between ₹63 million (~$842,784) and ₹95 million (~$1.27 million). Bidders with over five years of operation should have installed over 2.5 MW of rooftop solar projects in the previous five years. In the last three financial years, the bidders’ annual turnover should be more than ₹95 million (~$842,784).</p>
<p>For Category C, bidders must have installed over 4 MW to 6 MW of ground-mounted solar projects in the last five years. Their average annual turnover should be between ₹140 million (~$1.87 million) and ₹210 million (~$2.81 million) in the last three financial years. Bidders with over five years of operation should have completed over 6 MW of solar projects over the previous five years. In the previous three financial years, their average annual turnover must be more than ₹210 million (~$2.81 million).</p>
<p>To participate in the competitive bidding for Category D, bidders should have installed over 12 MW to 18 MW of ground-mounted solar projects in the last five years. Their minimum annual average turnover must be between ₹420 million (~$5.62 million) and ₹500 million (~$6.69 million) in the previous three financial years. Bidders with over five years of operation must have completed more than 18 MW of ground-mounted solar projects in the last five years. In the previous three financial years, their annual average turnover should be over ₹500 million (~$6.69 million).</p>
<p>For Category E, bidders should have installed over 80 to 150 solar streetlights in a single work order in the last five years. In the previous three financial years, their annual average turnover should be between ₹10 million (~$133,845) and ₹20 million (~$267,691). Vendors with over five years of operation should have installed over 150 solar streetlights in the previous five years. In the last three financial years, their annual turnover should be over ₹20 million (267,691).</p>

REC Subsidiary to Empanel Solar EPC and O&M Contractors

<p>The Jharkhand Renewable Energy Development Agency (<a href="https://www.jreda.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">JREDA</a>) has floated tenders for empanelling agencies for solar standalone systems and solar street lighting systems in the state.</p>
<p>The first tender was for the empanelment of agencies for rate contract for household electrification work by installing about 2,253 solar standalone systems. The project is expected to cost ₹82.7 million (~$1.1 million). Interested bidders are expected to pay an earnest money deposit (EMD) of ₹73,440 (~$996)) for each lot of 100 units. The deadline for bid submissions is December 21, 2020.</p>
<p>Bidders are allowed to submit bids for a maximum of 1,000 units and a minimum of 100 units. Selected bidders are expected to provide a comprehensive maintenance contract for five years. The systems are to be installed on a turnkey basis.</p>
<p>The second tender was for 8,000 solar street lighting systems in the state. The project is expected to cost ₹155.2 million (~$2.1 million). Interested bidders are expected to pay an EMD of ₹77,600 (~$1,052) for each lot of 200 units. The deadline for the submission of bids is December 21, 2020.</p>
<p>The scope of work includes the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of the streetlights with 12W LED lights, 75W solar modules, and lithium Ferro phosphate batteries under the solar photovoltaic program on a turnkey basis.</p>
<p>Selected bidders must provide a five-year comprehensive maintenance contract. Bidders are allowed to submit bids for a maximum of 2,000 units and a minimum of 200 units. The solar modules must come with a 25-year warranty.</p>
<p>For both tenders, bidders must have experience executing supply contracts for at least 25% of the number of systems they quote in the last seven years. They must also have a minimum average annual turnover of 25% of their quoted capacity in the last three years. They are also expected to have a positive net worth of at least 10% of their quoted capacity in the financial year (FY) 2020.</p>
<p>Micro and small enterprises do not have any minimum turnover or experience requirements. However, they are expected to have a positive net worth in one of the last two financial years. They are also expected to submit their average turnover in FY 2020. Selected agencies will be empanelled for one year, and the provided timeline for work completion is four months.</p>
<p>Previously, the Bharat Coking Coal Limited, a subsidiary of Coal India Limited, <a href="https://mercomindia.com/coal-india-subsidiary-invites-bids/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">invited</a> bids to develop 1.2 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar projects at 19 different locations of BCCL in Dhanbad, Jharkhand.</p>
<p>The Eastern Coalfields Limited <a href="https://mercomindia.com/eastern-coalfields-install-rooftop-solar/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">issued</a> a notice inviting tender to set up 1,415 kW of rooftop solar systems at 11 of its premises spread across 26 locations in West Bengal and Jharkhand.</p>

Jharkhand Floats Tenders for 2,253 Solar Systems, 8,000 Solar LED Streetlights

<p>The Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (<a href="http://upneda.org.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">UPNEDA</a>) has invited bids for solar street lighting systems, solar projects with battery backup, solar fencing, and solar water heaters in the state.</p>
<p>The scope of work includes the design, procurement, manufacturing, supply, installation, commissioning of these items along with five years of comprehensive warranty maintenance on each item.</p>
<p>The project is expected to cost about ₹281 million (~$3.81 million) cumulatively. Interested bidders are expected to pay earnest money deposits (EMD) based on the work they have undertaken. The last date for the submission of bids is September 29, 2020. Successful bidders are expected to complete the work within four months.</p>
<p>UPNEDA sought about 10,000 solar streets, eight 65 kW solar power projects with lithium battery backup, 1,900 meters of eight-foot-tall solar fencing, and about 25,000 solar water heaters with capacities of 500 and 1,000 liters per day (LPD). A breakdown of the quantities and costs associated with these items is given below.</p>

<p>UPNEDA did not provide any technical or financial qualification criteria for the tender. It said that tender documents with more details would be made available on its e-procurement <a href="http://etender.up.nic.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">website</a> from September 3, 2020, onwards.</p>
<p>In April, the Uttar Pradesh Small Industries Corporation Limited <a href="https://mercomindia.com/uttar-pradesh-bids-solar-streetlights/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">invited</a> bids for the supply and installation of 400 lithium Ferro phosphate battery solar streetlights for District Rural Development Agency , Varanasi under the marketing assistance program. Similarly, another tender was floated for the supply and installation of 200 lithium phosphate battery solar streetlights for <a href="https://sultanpur.nic.in/drda/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">DRDA, Sultanpur</a>. In another tender, bids were invited for 36 lithium Ferro phosphate battery solar streetlights for DRDA, Sultanpur. For all the three tenders, 12-watt solar streetlights were specified.</p>
<p>In December last year, the Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited had <a href="https://mercomindia.com/seci-tender-solar-street-lights-sanctuary/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">floated</a> a tender for 100 solar street lights and 50 solar fox lights in the fringe area of Karikot village in Katerniaghat wildlife sanctuary in Uttar Pradesh.</p>

Uttar Pradesh Floats Tender for Off-Grid Solar Products

<p>The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (<a href="http://mnre.gov.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">MNRE</a>) has issued a notice stating that it is shutting down Phase II of the Atal Jyoti Yojana (AJAY) program due to the global COVID-19 outbreak.</p>
<p>Under the program, 12 W LED solar streetlights were being supplied in parliamentary constituencies with 75% of the cost being borne by the MNRE and the remainder coming from the Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS).</p>
<p>In 2018, the MNRE <a href="https://mercomindia.com/india-304500-solar-street-lights-installation/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">received</a> approval to launch phase II of Atal Jyoti Yojna (AJAY) during the financial year 2018-19 and 2019-20. Under phase II of the AJAY program, 304,500 solar street lights were to be installed in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Assam, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, North Eastern states including Sikkim, Andaman &amp; Nicobar, Lakshadweep, and parliamentary constituencies covering 48 aspirational districts.</p>
<p>In its notice, the MNRE said that the government has decided not to operate MPLADS for two years financial years – 2020-21 and 2021-22 – citing a circular issued by the Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation (MoSPI) on April 8, 2020, and that it has decided to close Phase II of the AJAY program, with effect from April 1, 2020.</p>
<p>It added that solar streetlights, which were sanctioned before this date, would only be granted permission for installation under the program once a confirmation is acquired from district authority regarding the availability of MPLADS funds.</p>
<p>A few days ago, Mercom <a href="https://mercomindia.com/uttar-pradesh-bids-solar-streetlights/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">reported</a> that the Uttar Pradesh Small Industries Corporation Limited invited bids for the supply and installation of lithium Ferro phosphate battery solar streetlights for District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) in Sultanpur and Varanasi.</p>
<p>Earlier, the Urban Development Department of Assam <a href="https://mercomindia.com/assam-install-standalone-solar-led-streetlights/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">floated</a> a tender to install standalone solar light-emitting diode (LED) street lighting systems with seven-meter galvanized octagonal poles in the city. The lighting systems were to be installed across four zones under the local urban bodies of Assam.</p>

MNRE Scraps Second Phase of AJAY Solar Streetlights Program Due to COVID-19

<p>The Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (<a href="https://www.eeslindia.org/content/raj/eesl/en/home.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">EESL</a>), a government entity under the administrative control of the Ministry of Power (<a href="https://powermin.nic.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">MoP</a>), has floated a tender for the design, manufacture, testing, and supply of 1.9 million LED streetlights in Telangana gram panchayats and other states across India.</p>
<p>Some of these states include Gujarat, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarkhand, West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Bihar, including Delhi. These streetlights should have a warranty period of seven years. The project, which is called the ‘Demand-side Energy Efficiency Investment Project,’ comes under the Street Lighting National Program (SLNP).</p>
<p>For this project, the EESL received funds from the Asian Development Bank (<a href="https://www.adb.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">ADB</a>). The deadline for the submission of bids is June 4, 2020. The tender is open to both international and domestic bidders. A pre-bid conference will be held on May 11, 2020.</p>
<p>The bidder will need to furnish a bid security deposit of ₹8.4 million (~$0.11 million). The quantities or contract value may be increased or decreased by up to 20%.</p>
<p>As per the tender document, interested bidders should have their trademark registered in the Indian or international markets. The proof of trademark registration, which should be at least one-year-old from the date of floating the tender, needs to be submitted at the time of bidding.</p>
<p>The EESL also states that the bidder should have manufactured, tested, and supplied LED streetlights between 117,000-240,000 in the last three financial years (FY). The bidder should have a minimum capacity of manufacturing 2,500 LED streetlights per day.</p>
<p>The bidder must also submit details of in-house facilities for manufacturing LED streetlights.</p>
<p>Regarding the financial performance, the bidder should have made a profit in at least two years out of the three fiscal years of (FY) 2016-17, FY2017-18, and FY 2018-19. In the case of the international bidder, FY 2017, 2018, and 2019, it should all be profitable.</p>
<p>The average annual turnover of the bidder in the three preceding financial years should be between ₹0.83 billion (~$10.87 million) to ₹0.84 billion (~$11 million).</p>
<p>EESL works with electricity distribution companies through a benefit-sharing approach. According to the government, EESL intends to invest ₹80 billion (~$1.1 billion) for the installation and retrofitting of over 30 million LED streetlights in the next four to five years.</p>
<p>In January 2020, the Ministry of Power stated that over 361.3 million LED bulbs were <a href="https://mercomindia.com/led-bulbs-under-ujala-program/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">distributed</a> across India, and 10.3 million smart LED streetlights were installed under the UJALA and LED Street Lighting National Program at an estimated energy savings of 6.97 billion kWh/year.</p>
<p>In February 2019, <a href="https://mercomindia.com/coimbatore-smart-city-tender-led-street-lights/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Mercom</a> reported that Coimbatore Smart City issued a tender for the replacement of existing conventional streetlights by smart LED energy-efficient lamps.</p>

EESL Announces Tender for 1.9 Million LED Streetlights

<p>The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (<a href="https://morth.nic.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">MRTH</a>) issued a request for proposal (RfP) for providing a solar-hybrid street lighting system on Assam’s Dhola-Sadiya bridge over the Brahmaputra river.</p>
<p>The project is estimated to cost about ₹578.4 million (~$8.2 million) and will cover India’s longest bridge and its approaching roads for a stretch of about 28.51 kilometers. The work has to be completed within six months.</p>
<p>The due date for the bid submission is December 18, 2019.</p>
<p>The RfP states that the contractor will be responsible for designing, engineering, procurement, construction, and maintenance of the project for 12 years.</p>
<p>To meet the technical capacity and experience requirements, the bidder must have received payments for the construction of eligible projects over the last five years or must have undertaken projects exceeding the cost of the proposed project by itself in a public-private partnership (PPP) project.</p>
<p>The net worth of the bidder as of the previous financial year must also be higher than ₹28.9 million (~$410,238) to meet the financial capacity requirements of the tender.</p>
<p>In case the bidder is a joint venture (JV), the bid capacity, technical capacity and financial capacity of all the members of the JV will be taken individually into account for satisfying the conditions of eligibility. The lead member is also expected to meet at least 60% requirements of bid, technical, and financial capacity.</p>
<p>Solar streetlights are an excellent way of developing public infrastructure at a lower cost.</p>
<p>Only a few weeks ago, Uttar Pradesh also <a href="https://mercomindia.com/uttar-pradesh-install-2100-solar-streetlights/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">issued</a> a tender to supply, installation, and commissioning of solar streetlights, high mast, and solar powerpack white-LED based systems. Under this tender, 2,100 solar streetlights are expected to be installed along with 800 solar high mast lighting systems, and 21,000 solar powerpack systems.</p>
<p>Earlier, the Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited (KREDL) <a href="https://mercomindia.com/tender-solar-home-street-lighting-karnataka-mandya/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">floated</a> a tender for solar-powered home and street lighting systems in H. Kodihalli village of Mandya district.</p>
<p>In December 2018, the MNRE <a href="https://mercomindia.com/india-304500-solar-street-lights-installation/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">received</a> the approval to launch phase II of Atal Jyoti Yojna (<a href="http://ajay.eeslindia.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">AJAY</a>) during the financial year 2018-19 and 2019-20. The ministry had also received ₹500 million (~$7.13 million) to meet the pending liabilities of phase I of the program. Under the phase II of AJAY, 304,500 solar streetlights are expected to be installed in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Assam, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, North Eastern states including Sikkim, Andaman &amp; Nicobar, Lakshadweep, and parliamentary constituencies covering 48 aspirational districts.</p>

Tender Issued for Installation Solar-Hybrid Street Lighting System in Assam

<p>The Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) has issued a tender to supply, installation, and commissioning of solar streetlights, high mast, and solar powerpack white-LED based systems.</p>
<p>All of these components will need to have 2.5 years of comprehensive warranty and maintenance and will be installed across various districts in Uttar Pradesh.</p>
<p>Under this tender, 2,100 solar streetlights are expected to be installed along with 800 solar high mast lighting systems, and 21,000 solar powerpack systems.</p>
<p>Interested bidders are required to pay ₹1.6 million (~$22,495) as the earnest money deposit (EMD) for this tender.</p>
<p>The bid submission deadline is November 4, 2019, while the technical bid opening date is November 5, 2019, and the financial opening date has been scheduled for November 13, 2019.</p>
<p>The deadline for completing the work is three months.</p>
<p>According to UPNEDA, the bidder should be a PV system integrator and should have installed or commissioned at least 3,000 solar photovoltaic LED lighting systems.</p>
<p>The bidder should have three years of experience in executing contracts of solar PV systems. The cumulative financial experience of the bidder should be at least 25% of the tender value. The successful bidder should have an overall average annual turnover of at least ₹46.5 million (~$0.66 million) in the last three financial years.</p>
<p>The scope of work includes the supply, installation, and commissioning of various components such as  PV modules, LED luminaries and batten, DC ceiling fan, charge controller, and lead-acid tubular plate batteries with necessary wire and cables.</p>
<p>The scope of work also includes the mandatory opening of service centers in the concerned district through which servicing and maintenance can also be provided. As per the tender, only indigenous modules tested at the International Electrotechnical Commission (ITC) should be used in the project.</p>
<p>Solar streetlights are an intelligent way of revamping public spaces in the country. In recent years, various state governments, along with the center have introduced tenders and programs to encourage such initiatives.</p>

<p><a href="https://mercomindia.com/reil-solar-lights-tender/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Recently</a>, the Rajasthan Electronics and Instruments Limited floated a tender for the supply, installation, and commissioning of 20,000 off-grid solar LED streetlights across the country.</p>
<p>Then in September 2019, <a href="https://mercomindia.com/tender-solar-home-street-lighting-karnataka-mandya/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Mercom</a> had reported that the Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited (KREDL) floated a tender for solar-powered home and street lighting systems in H.Kodihalli village of Mandya district.</p>

Uttar Pradesh to Install over 2,100 Solar Streetlights

<p>The <a href="http://www.reiljp.com/indexE.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Rajasthan Electronics and Instruments Limited</a> (REIL) has issued a tender for the supply, installation, and commissioning of 20,000 standalone off-grid solar LED streetlights across the country.</p>
<p>The REIL is a public-sector enterprise operating in the electronics, information technology, and renewable energy segment.</p>
<p>The successful bidder will also be responsible for the repair and maintenance of the streetlights for five years. The bid submission deadline is July 25, 2019, and the opening date for the tender is July 26, 2019.</p>
<p>The tender states that at least 10% of the streetlights approved in any state or union territory should be provided with a remote monitoring system. Further, the details of solar streetlight installations are to be provided to the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE).</p>
<p>To participate, interested bidders will have to submit a valid test report of the tendered SPV LED streetlight system from any lab that has been accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories  (<a href="https://www.nabl-india.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">NABL</a>). In case the report is not available, the receipt of a sample submission should be submitted along with the bid. However, before the supply of the material, an original test report needs to be submitted to the REIL. The bidder is required to submit an undertaking that the material being supplied has a valid test report from NABL accredited lab.</p>
<p>According to the tender, the bidders must submit an earnest money deposit (EMD) of ₹500,000 (~$7,300) to participate in this tender. The technical criteria to bid for the tender states that the bidder should be a manufacturer of SPV module or LED light fixtures or an installer agency. Meanwhile, the financial criteria for bidders are that they should have a turnover of ₹30 million (~$0.44 million) in the last three financial years and have a positive net worth.</p>
<p>Mercom had reported previously that the <a href="https://mercomindia.com/india-304500-solar-street-lights-installation/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Ministry of New and Renewable Energy</a> received an approval to launch the second phase of Atal Jyoti Yojana (AJAY) during the financial year 2018-19 and 2019-20. Under this phase, 304,500 solar streetlights are expected to be installed in the states of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Assam, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, North Eastern states including Sikkim, Andaman and Nicobar, and Lakshadweep islands.</p>
<p>Previously, <a href="https://www.ccmc.gov.in/ccmc/index.php/administration/coimbatore-smartcity" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Coimbatore Smart City</a> also issued a tender for the replacement of existing conventional streetlights by smart <a href="https://mercomindia.com/coimbatore-smart-city-tender-led-street-lights/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">LED energy efficient lamps</a>. The scope of work of this tender also includes fixing accessories across the city of Coimbatore, as well as west and south core areas of the Coimbatore Smart City.</p>
