					</table><p><a href="https://www.servotech.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Servotech Power Systems</a>, an electric vehicle (EV) charger, and energy efficiency products manufacturer, has won an order for 1,800 DC Fast EV Chargers to be installed across India from government-owned oil and gas major Bharat Petroleum Corporation (<a href="https://www.bharatpetroleum.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">BPCL</a>).</p>
<p>The order is valued at ₹1.2 billion (~$14.46 million) and encompasses the installation and commissioning of two charger variants, 60 kW and 120 kW in the 70:30 ratio.</p>
<p>Servotech will manufacture, supply, install, and deploy these 1,800 EV chargers across India by the end of 2024, particularly at BPCL petrol pumps in major cities, as part of the BPCL E-drive Project.</p>
<p>BPCL will conduct the initial site inspections to confirm the type of charger that can be installed at each of these sites.</p>
<p>Servotech will also be responsible for a comprehensive annual maintenance contract for seven years following the three-year warranty period. The company will have to provide a security deposit of 10% of the contract value upfront.</p>
<p>BPCL issued the tender for the project in June last year for a total of 2,400 EV chargers (1,800 – 60 kW DC Fast Chargers and 600 – 120 kW DC Fast Chargers).</p>
<p>The BPCL-E-drive project aims to establish e-mobility touchpoints, optimize transactions, improve availability, simplify discovery, and facilitate navigation for EV users.</p>
<p>Servotech and BPCL had previously collaborated to supply and install 2,649 AC EV chargers under the same project. Servotech claims to have completed 36% of the supply and installation for the order and expects the project to be completed by March 2024.</p>
<p>Commenting on the new order, Sarika Bhatia, Director of Servotech Power Systems, said, “We take immense pride in accelerating India&#8217;s E-Mobility revolution in collaboration with BPCL. Our partnership focuses on establishing a dynamic EV charging network that makes EV charging accessible for EV owners nationwide. “</p>
<p>As of January 2024, Servotech has already supplied 4,000 EV Chargers across India.</p>
<p>According to the information provided by R.K. Singh, Union Minister of Power and New and Renewable Energy, in a written reply in the Lok Sabha early last year, the government aims to <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/india-aims-at-9-fold-in-public-ev-charging-2030" target="_blank" rel="noopener">install</a> a total of 46,397 public charging stations for EVs in nine major cities by the end of the decade.</p>
<p>EV sales in India <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/electric-vehicle-sales-2023" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reached</a> a record 1.53 million units in 2023, a jump of over 50% year over year compared to the million units sold in 2022.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.servotech.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Servotech Power Systems</strong></a><strong> bagged a large-scale, state-spanning grid-interactive rooftop solar power project from the Uttar Pradesh New &amp; Renewable Energy Development Agency (</strong><a href="http://upneda.org.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>UPNEDA</strong></a><strong>).</strong> The project involves building 4.1 MW of solar power plants across the state. The project&#8217;s contract value is approximately ₹235 million (~$2.94 million). It will be completed within four months from the date of awarding the project. The project sites in Uttar Pradesh would cover secondary school buildings.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.o2power.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>O2 Power</strong></a><strong> has signed a memorandum of understanding with the government of Rajasthan to develop renewable energy projects </strong>(including solar, wind, green hydrogen, and green ammonia) with an investment of ₹250 billion (~$3.13 billion). O2 Power already has a 335 MW commissioned solar project in Jaisalmer and an under-construction portfolio of approximately 1 GW in Rajasthan.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.kpigreenenergy.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>KPI Green Energy</strong></a><strong> announced that it was developing a hybrid power project of 16.10 MW capacity (comprising 16.10 MW of wind and 10 MWdc of solar capacity) at the Bhungar </strong>site in the Bhavnagar district of Gujarat. The project is being developed under the Gujarat Hybrid Policy, 2018. The company has already achieved financial closure to the tune of ₹1.32 billion (~$16.54 million) from the State Bank of India. The project is expected to be commissioned in March 2023.</p>
<p><strong>Masdar, a renewable energy company, </strong><a href="https://news.masdar.ae/en/News/2022/09/02/15/29/Masdar-Achieves-Financial-Close-on-Uzbekistans" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>announced</strong></a><strong> that it had achieved financial closure on the 500 MW Zarafshan wind project – Uzbekistan&#8217;s first utility-scale wind farm.</strong> The Zarafshan wind farm is expected to begin commercial operation by the end of 2024. It would provide enough electricity to power 500,000 homes while displacing 1.1 million tonnes of carbon dioxide annually. Masdar signed the power purchase agreement and investment agreement for the Zarafshan wind farm with Uzbekistan&#8217;s Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade and JSC National Electric Grid of Uzbekistan in June 2020. The project is expected to attract more than $600 million in foreign direct investment. It is part of Uzbekistan&#8217;s effort to meet 25% of its electricity needs from renewable sources by the end of the decade.</p>
