					</table><p>Patel Infrastructure, Alfanar Power, KP Energy, and Powerica <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/patel-infrastructure-alfanar-kp-energy-powerica-win-guvnls-250-mw-wind-auction" target="_blank" rel="noopener">won</a> Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam’s (GUVNL) auction to set up 250 MW grid-connected wind power projects (Phase X). Patel and Alfanar quoted a tariff of ₹3.43 (~$0.0382) to win 100 MW and 50 MW, respectively. KP Energy won 50 MW at a tariff of ₹3.44 (~$0.0383)/kWh. Powerica won 50 MW out of the quoted 106.4 MW at a tariff of ₹3.44 (~$0.0383)/kWh under the bucket-filling method.</p>
<p>The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/mnre-amends-pm-surya-ghar-service-charge-rules" target="_blank" rel="noopener">amended</a> guidelines for disbursing service charges under the PM Surya Ghar program, introducing operational clarifications for state and model solar village implementation agencies, while retaining the program’s overall financial framework.</p>
<p>The Government of Gujarat <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/gujarats-new-pumped-storage-policy-targets-75-gwh-capacity-by-2035" target="_blank" rel="noopener">notified</a> the Pumped Storage Project (PSP) Policy 2025, aiming to establish 75 GWh of storage capacity by 2035, with a longer-term goal of developing 100 PSPs by 2047. The policy also aims to facilitate investments of nearly ₹750 billion (~$8.35 billion). The policy will remain in force for 10 years, with incentives applicable for up to 40 years or the project’s operational life, whichever is earlier.</p>
<p>The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/cerc-approves-reduced-tariff-for-ntpc-greens-40-mw-solar-project-in-ayodhya" target="_blank" rel="noopener">approved</a> a reduced tariff of ₹3.36 (~$0.037)/kWh for NTPC Green Energy’s (NGEL) 40 MW solar project in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. CERC considered reduced capital cost, disallowed degradation and system losses, and partly accepted the cost, and operation and maintenance (O&amp;M) claims proposed by NGEL for tariff calculations.</p>
<p>The Kerala State Electricity Board <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/kseb-clears-%E2%82%B964-8-billion-investment-for-fy27-to-upgrade-keralas-power-infrastructure" target="_blank" rel="noopener">approved</a> a capital investment outlay of ₹64.78 billion (~$721.75 million) for the financial year 2026–27, an increase from the revised allocation of ₹47.89 billion (~$533.62 million) for 2025–26. The investments span power generation, transmission, distribution, IT systems, and other infrastructure works, while state-supported projects remain subject to the release of government funds.</p>
<p>The Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/upneda-issues-notices-to-inactive-rooftop-solar-vendors-under-pm-surya-ghar-program" target="_blank" rel="noopener">issued</a> a show-cause notice to a registered vendor under the PM-Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, citing that some vendors have not installed even a single rooftop solar system since being empanelled. In the notice, UPNEDA said vendors are expected to actively participate in implementing the program and install at least one rooftop solar system on average every day.</p>
<p>Renewable energy implementing agencies are <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/five-lowest-solar-plus-storage-auction-tariffs-in-india-during-2025-infographics" target="_blank" rel="noopener">leaning</a> towards integrating energy storage systems with renewable energy to address the intermittency of solar and wind energy generation. In 2025, 11 renewables-plus-storage projects with a total capacity of 9.85 GW were auctioned.</p>
<p>Maharashtra is steadily <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/open-access-renewables-gain-ground-among-maharashtras-industries" target="_blank" rel="noopener">cementing</a> its position as one of India’s important markets for green energy procurement through the open access route. The state ranks second in installed open-access solar capacity, accounting for over 17% of the country’s installations as of September 2025.</p>
<p>Fabric manufacturer PeeGee Fabrics is <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/peegee-fabrics-targets-%E2%82%B910-5-million-yearly-savings-through-rooftop-solar" target="_blank" rel="noopener">meeting</a> 30% of its power needs with a 1.2 MW rooftop solar system at its factory in GIDC Naroda, Ahmedabad. Founded in 1959, PeeGee manufacturers fashion fabrics at its integrated textile manufacturing unit.</p>
<p>Industries with high power <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/plastic-products-maker-in-tamil-nadu-goes-solar-saves-%E2%82%B98-million-annually" target="_blank" rel="noopener">consumption</a> can use their roof space to install solar. By shifting to solar, companies can not only become sustainable but also lower their electricity costs. A Tamil Nadu-based plastic products manufacturer, Abhirami Pet Industries, is saving ₹8 million (~$88,979) annually through a 750 kW rooftop solar system, installed at Abhirami Pet’s manufacturing facility in Tirunelveli.</p>
<p>NGEL <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/ntpc-green-energy-floats-om-tender-for-540-mw-solar-in-rajasthan" target="_blank" rel="noopener">issued</a> a tender for comprehensive O&amp;M services for its 540 MW grid-connected solar projects in Nokhra and Devikot, Rajasthan, for three years. Bids must be submitted by January 12, 2026. Bids will be opened on the same day. Bidders must furnish an earnest money deposit of ₹5 million (~$1.58 million).</p>
<p>Waaree Renewable Technologies, the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) arm of the Waaree Group, <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/waaree-wins-epc-contract-for-29-mw-solar-project" target="_blank" rel="noopener">secured</a> a letter of award from an undisclosed Indian customer for the EPC of a 28.6 MW ground-mounted solar project on a turnkey basis. The contract is valued at approximately ₹965.1 million (~$10.74 million). Waaree will execute this order during FY 2027.</p>
<p>Gujarat-based solar company Ahasolar Technologies <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/ahasolar-wins-consultancy-contract-for-875-mw-solar-project-from-coal-india" target="_blank" rel="noopener">received</a> a work order for providing owner’s engineering and project management consultancy services for an 875 MW solar power project from Coal India Rajasthan Akshay Urja. The project is located at Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam’s 2,000 MW Solar Park in Pugal, Bikaner, Rajasthan.</p>
<p>Mumbai-headquartered RenewSys India, manufacturer of solar modules and key components, <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/renewsys-to-supply-300-mw-of-solar-encapsulants-to-icon-solar" target="_blank" rel="noopener">signed</a> an agreement to supply 300 MW of high-performance solar encapsulants to Chhattisgarh-based solar solutions company, ICON Solaren Power Technologies (Icon Solar), to support large-scale solar module production.</p>
<p>Solar module manufacturer Waaree Energies received a domestic order for the supply of solar modules with a total capacity of 1,500 MW. The order was received from a domestic customer engaged in power generation, transmission, and distribution.</p>
<p>Adani Green Energy <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/adani-green-operationalizes-307-4-mw-renewable-projects-in-gujarat" target="_blank" rel="noopener">operationalized</a> an aggregate of 307.4 MW of renewable energy projects through its step-down subsidiaries at Khavda, Gujarat. The projects will be operationalized on December 31, 2025, and will commence power generation from January 1, 2026.</p>
<p>Germany’s Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur) <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/germany-floats-tender-for-282-7-mw-solar-projects" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids for 282.72 MW of solar power projects under its latest tender for installations on buildings and noise barriers. Bids must be submitted by February 2, 2026. The tender volume represents the total solar capacity eligible for financial support under the Renewable Energy Sources Act.</p>
<p>Bundesnetzagentur <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/germany-floats-tender-for-3-44-gw-onshore-wind-projects" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids for 3.44 GW of onshore wind projects. The bids must be submitted by February 2, 2026. The tender is part of the total onshore wind capacity planned for 2026, totaling 10,000 MW, distributed across the four scheduled bidding rounds. The maximum bid value for this tender round is set at €0.072 (~$0.085).</p>
