Permanent Power Company, an energy holding platform operating and developing solar and storage projects, has <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/permanent-power-company-secures-600m-solar-storage-project/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">secured</a> approximately $600 million in construction financing for its Grape solar and battery energy storage project in California. The financing package includes an approximately $372.3 million construction-to-term loan, an approximately $166.7 million tax credit transfer bridge loan, and an approximately $61.3 million letter of credit facility. 
Equitix, an investor, developer, and long-term fund manager of infrastructure assets, has <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/equitix-secures-573-million-for-hybrid-renewable-projects-in-spain/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">secured</a> €500 million (~$573 million) in project financing from UniCredit, an Italian multinational banking group headquartered in Milan. The financing is expected to support the construction of a portfolio of onshore wind farms and co-located solar photovoltaic projects across Spain. The projects are being developed under a framework agreement with Capital Energy.
Nautilus Solar Energy, a U.S.-based community solar company, has <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/nautilus-solar-renews-600-million-debt-facility-for-community-solar/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">renewed</a> its construction debt facility with a total commitment of $600 million. National Bank of Canada Capital Markets, Royal Bank of Canada, and Export Development Canada served as co-lead arrangers for the facility. National Bank of Canada also acted as sole bookrunner, administrative agent, issuing bank, and collateral agent. Fédération des Caisses Desjardins du Québec, Siemens Financial Services, The Huntington National Bank, and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation also participated as lenders in the facility.
Chrysalis Renewables, a global renewables investment platform established by global infrastructure manager Morrison, has <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/chrysalis-renewables-acquires-357-mw-solar-projects-in-us/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">acquired</a> the Atlas V and Atlas VI solar projects in the U.S. from Hanwha Renewables, a utility-scale solar and energy storage developer. The Atlas V and Atlas VI solar projects have a combined capacity of approximately 357 MW. The projects are in the final stages of commissioning and are expected to reach commercial operation within the next few months.
Rivington Energy, a developer and manager of renewable energy solutions, has <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/schroders-greencoat-acquires-50-mw-yarnton-battery-storage-project-in-uk/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">sold</a> a battery energy storage project in Yarnton, Oxfordshire, in the U.K., to funds managed by Schroders Greencoat. Schroders Greencoat is a renewables and energy transition infrastructure manager, and the acquisition was made through Wessex Gardens, its place-based and locally focused renewable infrastructure fund for Local Government Pension Scheme members.

					</table><a href="https://rivingtonenergy.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Rivington Energy</a>, a developer and manager of renewable energy solutions, has sold a battery energy storage project in Yarnton, Oxfordshire, in the U.K., to funds managed by <a href="https://www.schroderscapital.com/en/global/professional/capabilities/infrastructure/schrodersgreencoat/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Schroders Greencoat</a>.
Schroders Greencoat is a renewables and energy transition infrastructure manager, and the acquisition was made through Wessex Gardens, its place-based and locally focused renewable infrastructure fund for Local Government Pension Scheme members.
The Yarnton battery storage project will have an export capacity of 49.9 MW and an import capacity of 40 MW. According to the companies, the project has a near-term grid connection date and is expected to operate for up to 40 years.

This underpins our strong track record of securing project consents and enables us to bring forward high-quality schemes that attract leading investors and partners. Planning consent for the project was granted on June 16, 2025. Renewable Connections, the development arm of Rivington Energy, developed the project, and the construction is scheduled to begin in 2027.
Burges Salmon served as legal adviser to Rivington Energy, while Acuity Law served as legal adviser to Schroders Greencoat. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
In May 2026, GridStor, a developer and operator of utility-scale battery energy storage projects, <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/gridstor-acquires-199-mw-colorado-battery-storage-project-from-accelergen/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">acquired</a> the 199 MW/796 MWh Birdseye battery storage project in Adams County, Colorado, from Accelergen.
A total of 7.2 GW of energy storage projects were acquired in Q1 2026, a 227% increase compared to the 2.2 GW in Q1 2025, according to Mercom’s recently released Q1 2026 Energy Storage Funding and M&amp;A <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/product/q1-2026-funding-ma-report-energy-storage/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">report</a>. A growing share of acquisitions included standalone battery storage and hybrid solar-plus-storage projects.

Schroders Greencoat Acquires 50 MW Yarnton Battery Storage Project in UK

Eolian, a U.S. developer, owner, and operator of renewable energy and energy storage infrastructure, <a href="https://cms.mercomindia.com/eolian-secures-463-million-financing-for-battery-energy-storage-project/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">secured</a> $463 million financing from Natixis Corporate and Investment Banking. The funding will be used for the development and construction of the Padua 2 and Padua 3 battery energy storage systems, totaling 350 MW/1.7 GWh, in Bexar County, Texas. The financing will support the completion of the final stages of the Padua Complex, which is projected to be finished by spring 2026.
Rivington Energy, a renewable energy solutions provider, has <a href="https://cms.mercomindia.com/rivington-energy-acquires-139-mw-solar-and-bess-portfolio/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> the acquisition of three co-located solar and battery energy storage projects in the U.K. totaling 139 MW from GRIDSERVE, a developer and operator of renewable energy and EV charging infrastructure. The portfolio comprises two ready-to-build assets of 54 MW and 44 MW in Scunthorpe and Doncaster, and a pre-ready-to-build 41 MW project in Hartlepool.
Renewable energy company Hero Future Energies has <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/hero-energies-secures-%E2%82%B919-8-billion-funding-from-sbi-canara-bank" target="_blank" rel="noopener">secured</a> a ₹19.8 billion (~$221 million) loan from public sector banks State Bank of India and Canara Bank to develop a 120 MW wind-solar hybrid project with energy storage systems. Hero has received the funding for its special purpose vehicle, Clean Renewable Energy Hybrid Three. The loan has a repayment tenure of 21 years.
Sembcorp Green Infra, a wholly owned subsidiary of Singapore-based energy solutions company Sembcorp Industries, has <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/sembcorp-to-acquire-300-mw-solar-project-from-renew" target="_blank" rel="noopener">signed</a> a share purchase agreement with ReNew to acquire 100% of ReNew Sun Bright, its subsidiary, for approximately SGD246 million (~$190 million). ReNew Sun Bright’s 300 MW solar project in Fatehgarh, Rajasthan, commenced generation in November 2021.
Altus Power, an independent developer, owner, and operator of commercial-scale solar projects, <a href="https://cms.mercomindia.com/altus-power-acquires-8-6-mw-of-solar-projects-from-origis-energy/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> the acquisition of three ground-mounted solar projects in Florida from Origis Energy, a solar project developer. The acquired projects have a total capacity of 8.6 MW and are already generating and delivering power to a local utility through long-term power purchase agreements.

<a href="https://rivingtonenergy.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Rivington Energy</a>, a renewable energy solutions provider, has announced the acquisition of three co-located solar and battery energy storage projects in the U.K. totaling 139 MW from <a href="https://www.gridserve.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">GRIDSERVE</a>, a developer and operator of renewable energy and EV charging infrastructure.
The portfolio comprises two ready-to-build assets of 54 MW and 44 MW in Scunthorpe and Doncaster, and a pre-ready-to-build 41 MW project in Hartlepool. Once complete, the projects are expected to collectively deliver around 160 MWh of energy storage capacity.
The first project to be built will be the 54 MW solar project coupled with 72 MWh of battery storage in Scunthorpe. The construction is expected to begin in October, and energization is scheduled in September 2026. Once fully energized, the project will supply energy to the grid and industrial off-takers.
Andrew Newman, Executive Director at Rivington Energy said: &#8220;Our team are passionate about pioneering innovative energy solutions to support the transition to net zero. We are delighted to have collaborated closely with our parent company, Federated Hermes Limited, to acquire these projects, and we are excited to embark upon their construction.&#8221;
As per the press release, Rivington Energy has delivered over 1.25 GW of consented renewable energy projects since 2021.
According to Mercom&#8217;s 1H and Q2 2025 Solar Funding and M&amp;A <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/product/1h-and-q2-2025-solar-funding-and-ma-report/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">report</a>, approximately 19.9 GW of solar projects were acquired in the first half of 2025, compared to 18.5 GW in the first half of 2024.
In September, Grenergy, a renewable energy company, <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/grenergy-sells-fourth-phase-oasis-de-atacama-project/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">entered</a> into an agreement to sell the fourth phase of its Oasis de Atacama project in Chile to funds managed by CVC DIF, the infrastructure investment arm of global private equity firm CVC Capital Partners. The fourth phase, named Gabriela, represents 10% of the total Oasis de Atacama project, consisting of 272 MW of solar and 1,100 MWh of battery storage capacity.
