<p>Here are some noteworthy cleantech announcements of the day from around the world:</p>
<p><strong><a href="https://www.thdc.co.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">THDC India</a> has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Limited (<a href="https://energy.rajasthan.gov.in/rrecl" target="_blank" rel="noopener">RRECL</a>) to develop large solar power projects with a combined capacity of 10 GW</strong>. As per the MoU, THDCIL will form a special purpose vehicle with RRECL as a joint venture company to implement renewable energy parks. About 10,000 direct and indirect jobs are expected to be created during the project&#8217;s construction. THDC also plans to implement a 2 GW ultra mega solar park in Uttar Pradesh.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.adanisolar.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Adani Solar</strong></a><strong>, the Adani Group’s solar manufacturing arm, announced the launch of its retail distribution business in Tamil Nadu, with Festa Solar as the official channel partner for the region.</strong> Adani Solar aims to capitalize on Tamil Nadu’s renewable energy market through this partnership with Festa Solar. The installation of Adani Solar’s off-grid panels will help consumers mitigate the risks of power cuts, while its on-grid panels will reduce electricity costs. Adani Solar envisages an opportunity of 500 MW within these segments in the region. The target customers are predominantly in the rooftop, utility-scale, residential, commercial &amp; industrial, and solar pump segments.</p>
<p><strong>KPI Green Energy </strong><a href="https://www.bseindia.com/xml-data/corpfiling/AttachLive/a4151e8a-7576-4ca0-8e6a-cdf1edf9ece7.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>announced</strong></a><strong> the commissioning of its 2.5 MW solar power project in Surat.</strong> The captive power project was developed for  Vineet Polyfab, Surat. The company bagged this order in December 2021. KPI recently announced the commissioning of a 3.5 MW solar project for Prachi Mittal Creations, Surat. Another 1.50 MW solar project at Bhimpura village, Amod Taluka, District Bharuch, was commissioned for Cadila Healthcare.</p>
<p><strong> </strong><strong>EKA, an electric vehicle manufacturing &amp; technology company, and a subsidiary of Pinnacle Industries, </strong><a href="https://ekamobility.com/commercial-ev-company-eka-unveils-its-first-electric-bus-eka-e9-10/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>launched</strong></a><strong> EKA E9, its newest nine-meter pure electric &amp; zero-emission bus.</strong> The E9 is the company’s first battery-electric bus with a monocoque stainless steel chassis, offering a low curb weight and a total cost of ownership lower than the existing internal combustion engine-powered buses. EKA E9 is powered by an electric motor that generates maximum power of 200 kW and torque of 2500 NM, offering faster acceleration, more horsepower, greater traction power, industry-leading reliability, and 17% gradeability to tackle any terrain, and a regenerative braking system.</p>
<p><strong>Masdar has </strong><a href="https://news.masdar.ae/en/News/2022/04/15/12/08/Masdar-agrees-to-explore-renewable-energy-opportunities-in-Kyrgyzstan" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>signed</strong></a><strong> an MoU with the Kyrgyz Republic’s Ministry of Energy to explore the development of renewable energy opportunities in the Central Asian nation </strong>and support Kyrgyzstan’s clean-energy objectives. Masdar will explore the development of and investment in renewable energy projects, including ground-mounted solar photovoltaic power, floating solar PV, and hydropower projects, with a potential capacity of up to 1 GW. Kyrgyzstan aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by as much as 44% by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.</p>
