					</table><p>U.S.-based independent power producer <a href="https://www.lydianenergy.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Lydian Energy</a> has acquired the 1.5 GW Atlas North portfolio, comprising solar plus battery energy storage systems (BESS), in North America from <a href="https://hanwharenewables.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Hanwha Renewables</a>, a utility-scale solar and BESS projects developer. The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.</p>
<p>The Atlas North portfolio includes more than 1,000 MW of solar generation capacity with 450 MW/1,800 MWh of BESS across four late-stage projects. The projects are supported by grid infrastructure, including a 500 kV generation-tie transmission line connecting the facilities to the California Independent System Operator (CAISO) grid via the Cielo Azul Switchyard and the Ten West Link transmission line.</p>
<p>Most of the electricity and capacity from the portfolio is secured under long-term power purchase agreements with California-based load-serving entities.</p>
<p>“Atlas North represents Lydian’s largest investment to date. We are excited to build on our momentum as a firm and bring this ambitious project to life,” said Emre Ersenkal, CEO at Lydian Energy. “The Atlas North facilities will bring much-needed renewable power to the region.”</p>
<p>Lydian is backed by Excelsior Energy Capital, a clean energy infrastructure fund focused on middle-market investments in wind, solar, and battery storage projects, and businesses across North America.  The company’s portfolio includes 18 solar and energy storage projects totaling 4.4 GW of capacity.</p>
<p>In February 2026, the company <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/lydian-energy-secures-689-million-for-solar-and-battery-storage-projects/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">closed</a> a $689 million financing for two solar and one battery storage projects located across three states in the U.S. The full-stack financing comprised a construction-to-term loan, a tax credit bridge loan, a co-investment bridge loan, and a letter of credit facility.</p>
<p>According to Mercom’s Annual and Q4 2025 Solar Funding and M&amp;A <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/product/annual-and-q4-2025-solar-funding-and-ma-report/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">report</a>, approximately 37.4 GW of solar projects were acquired in 2025, compared to 37.7 GW in 2024.</p>
<p>In 2026, Nofar USA, the U.S. subsidiary of Israeli renewable energy independent power producer Nofar Energy, <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/nofar-usa-closes-acquisition-of-1-gw-of-solar-projects/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">closed</a> its previously approved acquisition of approximately 1 GW of solar energy projects from Pine Gate Renewables, a utility-scale solar project developer.</p>


Lydian Energy Acquires 1.5 GW Solar and Storage Portfolio

<p><a href="https://www.lydianenergy.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Lydian Energy</a>, an independent power producer, closed a $689 million financing for two solar and one battery storage projects located across three states in the U.S. The full-stack financing, backed by CIBC and MUFG, comprises a construction-to-term loan, a tax credit bridge loan, a co-investment bridge loan, and a letter of credit facility.</p>
<p>The two solar projects include the 75 MWac/100 MWdc AC Ranch 1 in New Mexico and the 170 MWac/210 MWdc Yellow Viking project in Texas, which benefits from a 100 MW power purchase agreement with an investment-grade off-taker.</p>
<p>Further, the 150 MW/733 MWh Faraday battery storage project in Utah is also backed by a long-term power purchase agreement with another investment-grade off-taker.</p>
<p>“This transaction marks a major milestone for Lydian Energy, as it is the first full-stack financing we’ve closed, and it’s especially notable to do so with industry-leading lenders MUFG and CIBC,” said Emre Ersenkal, CEO at Lydian Energy. “We are excited about this significant financing, which creates a strong precedent for future investments across Lydian Energy’s pipeline and unlocks capital to support continued growth.”</p>
<p>Lydian’s current portfolio includes 18 solar and storage projects with a combined capacity of 4.4 GW. The company is backed by the clean energy infrastructure fund Excelsior Energy Capital.</p>
<p>Previously, in 2025, the company <a href="https://cms.mercomindia.com/lydian-energy-secures-financing-battery-projects/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">raised</a> $233 million in project financing to support the development of three battery energy storage projects in Texas. The projects, each with a capacity of 200 MW/400 MWh, are located in San Patricio and Crane Counties, Texas.</p>
<p>Large-scale solar project funding increased by 37% in 2025 compared with the funding raised in 2024, according to Mercom’s recently released Annual and Q4 2025 Solar Funding and M&amp;A <a href="https://cms.mercomindia.com/product/annual-and-q4-2025-solar-funding-and-ma-report/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">report</a>.</p>
<p>In February, Grenergy, a renewable energy company, <a href="https://cms.mercomindia.com/grenergy-secures-355-million-for-central-oasis-project/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">closed</a> a $355 million senior non-recourse financing agreement for its Gran Teno, Tamango, and Planchón projects, which together contribute 398 MW of solar capacity and 1.4 GWh of battery energy storage capacity to the Central Oasis platform in Chile.</p>


Lydian Energy Secures $689 Million for Solar and Battery Storage Projects

<p><strong>ib vogt, a solar and energy storage project developer, </strong><a href="https://cms.mercomindia.com/ib-vogt-secures-80-million-financing-for-99-mw-solar-project/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>secured</strong></a><strong> PHP4.49 billion (~$80 million) in green project financing from HSBC for the development of the 99 MWp Tantangan solar</strong> project, located in South Cotabato, Philippines. Construction on the project commenced in the first quarter of 2025, with commercial operation scheduled for the second quarter of 2026. This project is reportedly the company’s second solar project in Mindanao.</p>
<p><strong>AMPYR Australia, a part of AMPYR Energy, a renewable energy group, announced the financial </strong><a href="https://cms.mercomindia.com/ampyr-secures-financing-for-300-mw-wellington-stage-1-battery-storage-project/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>closure</strong></a><strong> of the 300 MW/600 MWh Wellington Stage 1 battery energy storage project</strong> located in New South Wales. Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Bank of China, Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation, Rabobank, Société Générale, and United Overseas Bank provided more than AU$340 million (~$221 million) in financing for the project.</p>
<p><strong>Green Genius, a renewable energy company, <a href="https://cms.mercomindia.com/green-genius-secures-43-million-financing-for-78-mw-solar-project/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">signed</a> a €36.66 million (~$42.94 million) financing agreement with RGREEN INVEST</strong>, a France-based independent investment management company. The financing will be used for the construction of the 78 MW Šeduva solar project in Lithuania. Once completed, the project is scheduled for connection to Litgrid&#8217;s transmission network for the spring of 2027. The financing is provided through INFRABRIDGE IV, one of RGREEN INVEST&#8217;s debt funds, specializing in offering flexible, long-term financing solutions for large-scale renewable energy projects across Europe.</p>
