					</table><p><a href="https://www.jinkosolar.com/en/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Jinko Solar</a>, <a href="https://www.trinasolar.com/us" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Trina Solar</a>, <a href="https://www.adanisolar.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Adani Solar</a>, <a href="https://www.longi.com/in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">LONGi Solar</a>, and <a href="https://www.jasolar.com/html/en/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">JA Solar</a> were the top solar module suppliers in the calendar year (CY) 2022, according to Mercom&#8217;s recently released <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/product/mercoms-india-solar-market-leaderboard-2023-market-shares-and-profiles" target="_blank" rel="noopener">India Solar Market Leaderboard 2023</a>.</p>
<p>The report covers market shares and rankings across the Indian solar supply chain and provides the most accurate and comprehensive coverage of India&#8217;s solar industry leaders. The report captured notable shifts in market share rankings, with most players changing places in the list.</p>
<p>Trina Solar moved to second place with a significant increase in annual module shipments. The only new entrant in the top ten list was Canadian Solar.</p>
<p>During CY 2022, the polycrystalline modules accounted for 19.5% of the total module supply, while monocrystalline modules constituted around 69.8%. Bifacial and Thin Film modules represented 9.7% and 1% of the module supply, respectively.</p>
<p>Chinese module suppliers continued to dominate the top ten list. A total of six Chinese companies made it to the top ten list.</p>
<p>The top three suppliers—Jinko Solar, Trina Solar, and Adani Solar—accounted for 13%, 11%, and 9% of the total modules supplied in 2022. LONGi Solar and JA Solar were the fourth and fifth largest, with each accounting for 8% of the market share.</p>
<p>The top five suppliers shipped around 49% of capacities supplied to the domestic solar market.</p>

<p><strong>Jinko Solar</strong> emerged as the top choice among developers in 2022.</p>
<p>The company has built a vertically integrated solar product value chain with an integrated annual capacity of 58 GW for monocrystalline wafers, 55 GW for solar cells, and 70 GW for solar modules as of December 2022. The company expects its yearly production capacities to reach 75 GW each for monocrystalline wafers and solar cells, with solar module capacities reaching 90 GW by the end of 2023.</p>
<p>In December last year, Jinko Solar recorded maximum efficiency of 26.4% for its M10 wafer format n-type Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact (TOPCon) solar cells. The mass production efficiency of n-type TOPCon solar cells reached 25.1% at the end of 2022.</p>
<p>The company announced in March last year that it had delivered 100 GW of solar modules globally.</p>
<p>Second on the list was <strong>Trina Solar.</strong> In December 2022, Trina inaugurated its 8 GW n-type i-TOPCon solar cell factory in Suqian, China. The company also added 11 GW of solar module production factory in Yancheng, China, in the second half of 2022.</p>
<p>In July, Trina Solar&#8217;s State Key Laboratory of PV Science and Technology announced that its proprietary industrial larger-area 210 mm×210 mm PERC solar cell had achieved 24.5% efficiency.</p>
<p>Trina Solar inaugurated its New Energy Industrial Park project in Xining, the provincial capital of the central Chinese province of Qinghai, last June. The factory will include production lines with an annual output of 300,000 metric tons of industrial silicon, 150,000 metric tons of high-purity polysilicon, 35 GW of monosilicon, 10 GW of wafer slices, 10 GW of cells, 10 GW of modules, and 15 GW of auxiliaries for modules.</p>
<p><strong>Adani Solar</strong>, the only Indian company to make it to the top five, established I<strong>ndia&#8217;s first and largest </strong>vertically integrated solar company with a 4 GW manufacturing capacity, offering products and services across the spectrum of photovoltaics manufacturing.</p>
<p>Adani Enterprises became the first company to <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/adani-construction-30000-mtpa-polysilicon-facility" target="_blank" rel="noopener">start</a> the construction of a polysilicon and monosilane manufacturing facility to be constructed in Mundra, Gujarat. The Mundra plant is expected to play host to the entire solar manufacturing ecosystem, from polysilicon to modules, including ancillaries and supporting utilities.</p>
<p>Adani was <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/module-pli-auction-winners-list-jindal-out-adani-in" target="_blank" rel="noopener">awarded</a> a performance-linked incentive of ₹6.63 billion (~$80.03 million) for a capacity of nearly 737 MW of vertically-integrated high-efficiency solar modules.</p>
<p>Next on the list at number four position was <strong>LONGi Solar</strong>. As of December 2022, the company has a module manufacturing capacity of 85 GW, a cell manufacturing capacity of 60 GW, wafer manufacturing capacity of 150 GW.</p>
<p>LONGi Green Energy Technology <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/longi-plans-new-100-gw-wafer-50-gw-cell-capacity" target="_blank" rel="noopener">signed</a> an investment agreement with the local government of Shaanxi province to manufacture 100 GW of monocrystalline silicon wafers and 50 GW of monocrystalline cells.</p>
<p>In December last year, after a year and a half of extensive research in heterojunction (HJT) solar cells, China-based LONGi Green Energy Technology said it had <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/longi-says-efficiency-in-heterojunction-silicon-solar-cells" target="_blank" rel="noopener">achieved</a> a record efficiency of 26.81% for its HJT silicon solar cells on full-size silicon wafers through mass production.</p>
<p><strong>JA Solar </strong>rounded off the top five list. With 12 manufacturing bases and over 20 branches worldwide<strong>, </strong>JA Solar&#8217;s business covers silicon wafers, cells, and modules. JA Solar products are available in 135 countries and regions and are used extensively in ground-mounted solar projects and rooftop solar installations of commercial, industrial, and residential customers.</p>
<p>JA Solar <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/ja-solar-build-5-9-billion-polysilicon-in-china" target="_blank" rel="noopener">signed</a> a strategic cooperation framework agreement with the Ordos Municipal government in China&#8217;s inner Mongolia region to build a low-carbon industrial park for the photovoltaic (PV) industry cluster. The PV industry cluster, once complete, will have facilities to produce 10,000 tons of silicon, 20 GW each of ingots and wafers, 30 GW of photovoltaic cells, and 10 GW of solar modules.</p>
<p>The company announced the maximum power of their n-type module reaching 625W and efficiency of up to 22.4%. The company&#8217;s solar modules are used across multiple utility-scale projects in India.</p>

<p>The report covers market shares and rankings across the Indian solar supply chain and provides the most accurate and comprehensive coverage of India’s solar industry leaders. The report notes notable shifts in market share rankings compared to the previous year.</p>
<p>Tata Power Solar topped with a market share of 28%, followed by Vikram Solar and BHEL with 6% and 5%, respectively. Adani Infra and Hild Energy had a market of 4% each.</p>
<p>The top five utility-scale solar EPC service providers accounted for almost 46% of the total market share.</p>

<p>Tata Power Solar’s major EPC projects included 300 MW for Brookfield Renewables, 300 MW at the Dholera Solar Park, and 320 MW for NTPC, including a 70 MW floating solar project.</p>
<p>Recently, Tata Power Solar was <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/tata-solar-300-mw-solar-nlc" target="_blank" rel="noopener">awarded</a> an EPC contract for a 300 MW domestic content requirement-based solar project by NLC India.</p>
<p>Vikram Solar’s EPC installations increased by almost 22% YoY. The company rose to the number two position in 2022 from number five in 2021. The company also <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/vikram-solar-sebis-nod-initial-public-offering" target="_blank" rel="noopener">received</a> SEBI’s nod to raise funds through an initial public offering (IPO). The IPO consists of a fresh issue of up to ₹15 billion (~$188.9 million) and an Offer-for-Sale of up to 5 million equity shares by the selling shareholders.</p>
<p>Bharat Heavy Electricals moved to the third position compared to the ninth in the previous year.</p>
<p>BHEL has commissioned some of the country’s largest floating solar power projects – NTPC Ramagundam (100 MW), NTPC Simhadri (25 MW), NTPC Kayamkulam (22 MW).</p>
<p>BHEL has a solar EPC portfolio of more than 1.2 MW, of which more than 1.1 GW capacity consists of large-scale, floating solar, rooftop, and canal-top solar projects that are commissioned. According to Mercom’s <a href="https://mercomindia.com/product/india-solar-tender-tracker/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">India Solar Tender Tracker</a>, BHEL floated 950 MW of solar tenders in 2022.</p>
<p>Adani Infra India and Hild Energy entered the top 10 list in 2022.</p>

<p>The report offers information on the competitive landscape and market share of top companies within the solar supply chain in India.</p>
<p>According to the <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/product/rooftop-solar-market-report-q4-2022" target="_blank" rel="noopener">2022 Q4 &amp; Annual Mercom India Rooftop Solar Market Report</a>, India added 1.6 GW of rooftop solar capacity, and the top 10 companies were responsible for 50% of those installations.</p>
<p>The top three companies accounted for 36% of the market share in 2022.</p>

<p>Tata Power Solar, a subsidiary of Tata Power, is a fully integrated solar energy company that offers rooftop installations for residential, commercial, and industrial customers and off-grid solutions.</p>
<p>In November 2022, Tata Power Solar partnered with the Union Bank of India to promote the adoption of rooftop solar systems among micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).</p>
<p>Amplus Solar, a part of the PETRONAS Group, was second on the list. It specializes in providing distributed low-carbon energy solutions to industrial and commercial clients. The company serves more than 300 commercial and industrial customers from diverse sectors.</p>
<p>Amplus Solar successfully installed approximately 6% of rooftop solar capacity during CY 2022.</p>
<p>Roofsol Energy, the third leading rooftop solar installer, specializes in providing utility-scale and rooftop solar solutions to commercial and industrial entities.</p>
<p>The company’s installations amounted to 3% of rooftop solar capacity in CY 2022.</p>
<p>In CY 2022, Roofsol Energy’s notable projects included the 4 MW rooftop solar project at Mirza International in Uttar Pradesh, a 10.5 MW rooftop solar project at ST COTTEX &#8211; India in Macchiwara, Punjab, and a 10.201 MW rooftop solar project at Sportking India in Bathinda, Punjab.</p>
<p>Fourth Partner Energy and Hartek Solar made it to the fourth and fifth positions on the list.</p>

					</table><p><a href="https://avaadaenergy.com/about-us/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Avaada Energy</a>, <a href="https://ntpcrel.co.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">NTPC Renewable Energy</a>, <a href="https://www.adanigreenenergy.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Adani Green Energy</a>, <a href="https://www.tatapower.com/businesses/renewables.aspx" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Tata Power Renewables</a>, and <a href="https://www.azurepower.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Azure Power</a> emerged as the top utility-scale solar project developers in the calendar year (CY) 2022, according to Mercom’s recently released <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/product/mercoms-india-solar-market-leaderboard-2023-market-shares-and-profiles" target="_blank" rel="noopener">India Solar Market Leaderboard 2023</a>.</p>
<p>The report covers market shares and rankings across the Indian solar supply chain and provides the most accurate and comprehensive coverage of India’s solar industry leaders. Compared to the previous year, the report captured notable shifts in market share rankings, with new players making their presence felt.</p>
<p>Avaada and NTPC Renewable topped the list of developers, each with a market share of 14% of the total installed capacity.</p>
<p>Adani Green had a market share of 11%, while Tata Power and Azure had a market of 8% and 4%, respectively.</p>

It commissioned around 954 MW of utility-scale solar power projects in 1H.</p>
<p>Avaada Energy was also one of the <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/sjvn-juniper-tata-sukhbir-avaada-win-msedcls-500-mw-solar-auction" target="_blank" rel="noopener">winners</a> in Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company’s (MSEDCL) auction to procure power from 500 MW of grid-connected intrastate solar projects (Phase-VII) on a long-term basis. Avaada quoted ₹2.91 (~$0.037)/kWh for 300 MW but was only awarded 25 MW under the bucket filling method.</p>
<p>Avaada Energy was one of the <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/ntpc-avaada-winners-msedcls-500-mw-solar-auction" target="_blank" rel="noopener">winners</a> in MSEDCL’s auction to procure power from 500 MW of grid-connected inter or intrastate solar projects (Phase-VIII) on a long-term basis. Avaada Energy quoted ₹2.83 (~$0.035)/kWh for 500 MW but was awarded 300 MW under the bucket filling method.</p>
<p>Avaada’s cumulative installed capacity as of Dec 2022 stood at around 2.7 GW.</p>
<p>NTPC Renewable Energy won MSEDCL’s <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/ntpc-avaada-winners-msedcls-500-mw-solar-auction" target="_blank" rel="noopener">auction</a> to procure power from 500 MW of grid-connected inter or intrastate solar projects (Phase-VIII) on a long-term basis. NTPC Renewable Energy won 200 MW by quoting ₹2.82 (~$0.035)/kWh.</p>
<p>In July 2022, NTPC Renewable commissioned the country’s largest floating solar project of 100 MW in Ramagundam, Telangana.</p>
<p>NTPC Renewable Energy was one of the <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/ntpc-sjvn-hinduja-rumsls-phase-ii-300-mw-floating-solar-auction" target="_blank" rel="noopener">winners</a> in Rewa Ultra Mega Solar’s (RUMSL) auction for the 300 MW floating solar park (Phase II) at the Omkareshwar reservoir in Madhya Pradesh, according to Mercom sources. NTPC Renewable won 90 MW at ₹3.69 (~$0.045)/kWh.</p>
<p>NTPC Renewable Energy’s cumulative installed solar capacity as of December 2022 was 2.9 GW.</p>
<p>Adani Green Energy <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/adani-green-commissions-600-mw-solar-wind-hybrid-power-project-in-rajasthan" target="_blank" rel="noopener">commissioned</a> a 600 MW interstate transmission system (ISTS) connected wind-solar hybrid power project in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. In May 2022, AGEL <a href="https://mercomindia.com/adani-390-mw-hybrid-project-tariff-%e2%82%b92-69-kwh-commissioned/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">operationalized</a> another hybrid power project with a capacity of 390 MW at Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.</p>
<p>In March, Adani Green Energy <a href="https://mercomindia.com/adani-green-288-million-solar-wind-hybrid-rajasthan/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">raised</a> a $288 million financing facility by extending its construction financing framework to $1.64 billion for its under-construction renewable asset portfolio through agreements signed with lenders.</p>
<p>Adani Green’s cumulative installed capacity of utility-scale solar projects reached 6.5 GW at the end of December 2022.</p>
