Tata Power Solar, Amplus, Roofsol Leading Rooftop Solar Installers in 2022

The top three companies accounted for 35.6% of the market share in 2022

Tata Power Solar, Amplus Solar, Roofsol Energy, Fourth Partner Energy, and Hartek Solar were the top rooftop solar companies in India during the calendar year (CY) 2022, according to Mercom’s recently released India Solar Market Leaderboard 2023.

The report offers information on the competitive landscape and market share of top companies within the solar supply chain in India.

According to the 2022 Q4 & Annual Mercom India Rooftop Solar Market Report, India added 1.6 GW of rooftop solar capacity, and the top 10 companies were responsible for 50% of those installations.

The top three companies accounted for 36% of the market share in 2022.

Leading rooftop installers CY 2022Among rooftop solar installers, Tata Power Solar led rooftop solar installations by accounting for 27% of the total capacity as of December 2022 and maintained its number-one ranking.

Tata Power Solar, a subsidiary of Tata Power, is a fully integrated solar energy company that offers rooftop installations for residential, commercial, and industrial customers and off-grid solutions.

In November 2022, Tata Power Solar partnered with the Union Bank of India to promote the adoption of rooftop solar systems among micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

Amplus Solar, a part of the PETRONAS Group, was second on the list. It specializes in providing distributed low-carbon energy solutions to industrial and commercial clients. The company serves more than 300 commercial and industrial customers from diverse sectors.

Amplus Solar successfully installed approximately 6% of rooftop solar capacity during CY 2022.

Roofsol Energy, the third leading rooftop solar installer, specializes in providing utility-scale and rooftop solar solutions to commercial and industrial entities.

The company’s installations amounted to 3% of rooftop solar capacity in CY 2022.

In CY 2022, Roofsol Energy’s notable projects included the 4 MW rooftop solar project at Mirza International in Uttar Pradesh, a 10.5 MW rooftop solar project at ST COTTEX – India in Macchiwara, Punjab, and a 10.201 MW rooftop solar project at Sportking India in Bathinda, Punjab.

Fourth Partner Energy and Hartek Solar made it to the fourth and fifth positions on the list.
