<p><a href="https://en.longi-solar.com/home/index/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">LONGi Solar,</a> a Chinese manufacturer of high-efficiency mono-crystalline solar cells and modules, has inked a supply deal with <a href="https://hexagonpeak.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Hexagon Peak</a>, the project development arm of Hexagon Holdings. Under the agreement, LONGi will supply 200 MW of its latest mono PERC products, reaching 435 W of nominal power output.</p>
<p>As per the company statement, Singapore-based Hexagon Peak will use the modules for its pipeline of utility-scale solar projects that are expected to be commissioned by Q1 of 2021.</p>
<p>Speaking about the agreement, Milan Koev, CEO of Hexagon Peak, commented, “We are very excited about this agreement with LONGi. Solar is nearly a 20-year old industry, and we have passed our teenage years, and companies like LONGi are leading the way in manufacturing solar equipment. The reliability of their products, financial strength, and their business acumen are the three main factors behind selecting LONGi as our partners in Vietnam.”</p>
<p>Echoing similar optimism, Dennis She, senior vice president, LONGi Solar, said, “This collaboration will further enhance the LONGi’s presence in Vietnam. With our common commitment to reliability, we are certain that LONGi and Hexagon Peak will bring high-quality photovoltaic power stations in Vietnam.”</p>
<p>The Hexagon Peak is set to acquire over 200 MW of utility-scale solar projects in Vietnam, with state utility company Vietnam Electricity (EVN) as the energy off-taker, and its estimated commercial operation date is by Q1 2021.</p>
<p>As reported previously by Mercom, <a href="https://en.evn.com.vn/c3/gioi-thieu-f/Overview-2-3.aspx" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">EVN</a> has been accelerating the completion of 61 solar power projects so that by the end of June 2019,  a total of  <a href="https://mercomindia.com/88-solar-vietnam-grid-june-2019/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">88 solar power projects</a> can be connected to the national grid. With 88 solar power projects added to the national grid, the total energy generated from renewable (wind and solar) power projects in the country will be about 4,000 MW.</p>
<p>Last year, another Chinese solar cell and module manufacturer Jinko Solar had signed a 240 MW solar module supply agreement with Powerchina Huadong Engineering Corporation Limited for the second phase of the <a href="https://mercomindia.com/jinkosolar-solar-module-supply-deal-vietnam/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">420 MW Dau Tieng solar project</a> in Vietnam.</p>
