					</table><p>Engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) company <a href="https://hartek.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Hartek Group</a> has commissioned a 300 MW solar power project in Rajasthan.</p>
<p>The company had won the contract from an independent power producer at an estimated cost of ₹4.74 billion (~$53 million) in 2024.</p>
<p>As of now, Hartek has developed more than 400 extra-high voltage (EHV) and high-voltage (HV) substations. It has also installed 200 MW of rooftop solar projects.</p>
<p>At the Mercom India Renewables Summit 2025, Simarpreet Singh, CEO and Director at Hartek Group, <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/pli-style-support-could-transform-indias-grid-equipment-manufacturing-interview" target="_blank" rel="noopener">highlighted</a> the challenges faced by EPC players, including transmission infrastructure shortages and supply chain issues. He noted the lack of quality manufacturers in the HV and EHV segments.</p>
<p>In July 2025, Hartek Group <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/hartek-bags-%E2%82%B91-38-billion-substation-contract-from-pgcil-in-karnataka" target="_blank" rel="noopener">secured</a> a contract worth ₹1.38 billion (~$16.05 million) from the Power Grid Corporation of India to develop a 400 kV air-insulated substation. PGCIL has won this project from PFC Consulting. This substation is part of the transmission program to integrate renewable energy zones in Davanagere, Chitradurga, and Ballari districts of Karnataka.</p>
<p>In January 2025, Hartek Group’s commercial and industrial rooftop solar business <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/hartek-wins-epc-contract-for-8-mw-rooftop-solar-project-in-jk" target="_blank" rel="noopener">won</a> a solar EPC contract from Kandhari Beverages for an 8 MW rooftop solar installation project in Jammu and Kashmir. The project involved designing and procuring solar modules, inverters, and associated equipment, as well as testing and commissioning the project.</p>
<p>In 2024, it also <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/hartek-power-secures-solar-project-from-sjvn" target="_blank" rel="noopener">secured</a> an order from SJVN Green Energy to develop, implement, and maintain a 75 MW grid-connected solar power project, along with a 132 kV substation in Jamui, Bihar. The comprehensive scope of work encompasses tasks such as land development, design, and engineering, as well as equipment procurement, testing at the manufacturer’s works, packing, forwarding, and transportation. The project was valued at ₹1.13 billion (~$13.6 million).</p>
<p>According to Mercom’s India Solar Market Leaderboard 2025 Report, Hartek Group <a href="https://mercomindia.com/leading-solar-epc-companies-2024" target="_blank" rel="noopener">emerged</a> as one of the top utility-scale solar EPC service providers in 2024.</p>

					</table><p>Barbrik Projects, Saatvik Green Energy, Kundan Green Energy, Prostarm Info Systems, Hindustan Thermal Project (Hindustan Power), and Suryam International <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/prostarm-hindustan-power-barbrik-win-bihars-125-mw-420-mwh-bess-auction" target="_blank" rel="noopener">won</a> the Bihar State Power Generation Company’s (BSPGCL) auction to set up standalone battery energy storage systems (BESS) of a cumulative capacity of 125 MW/500 MWh. Prostarm Info Systems won 30 MW/120 MWh, Barbrik Projects 37.5 MW/150 MWh, Suryam International 10 MW/40 MWh, Kundan Green Energy 10 MW/40 MWh, Hindustan Thermal Project 30 MW/120 MWh, and Saatvik Green 7.5 MW/30 MWh.</p>
<p>In the first quarter (Q1) of 2025, Madhya Pradesh <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/madhya-pradesh-emerges-as-a-key-market-for-solar-open-access" target="_blank" rel="noopener">emerged</a> as one of the leading states in adding solar open access capacity. With 121.5 MW installed, it recorded the fourth-highest addition during the quarter, contributing over 11% of the total solar open access installations across the country, according to Mercom’s Q1 2025 India Solar Open Access Market Report. The state’s installations increased by nearly 8% year-over-year, following a quarter with no installations. India added 1.09 GW of solar open access capacity in the first quarter of 2025, a 47.7% decrease from the previous quarter’s 2.08 GW.</p>
<p>The Jharkhand State Electricity Regulatory Commission <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/jharkhand-draft-regulations-determine-solar-tariffs" target="_blank" rel="noopener">issued</a> draft regulations to determine the tariff for procuring power from solar and solar-thermal power projects. The tariff for solar projects will be determined through competitive bidding, which the Commission will adopt. However, if no bids are received for projects above 10 MW, the Commission will approve a project-specific tariff. Tariffs will be determined case-by-case for solar projects with less than 10 MW capacity. The Commission will determine project-specific tariffs for ground-mounted solar, rooftop solar, floating solar, solar-thermal, solar-hybrid, and solar projects, including those with storage systems.</p>
<p>SJVN <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/sjvn-tenders-1-mw-rooftop-solar-project-in-arunachal-pradesh" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids to set up rooftop solar systems with a cumulative capacity of 1 MW at the Civil Secretariat complex in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh, and its adjacent areas under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana in a capital expenditure mode. The last date to submit bids is July 22, 2025. Bids will be opened on the same day. The scope of work encompasses the design, installation, testing, and commissioning of the rooftop solar systems. It also covers operation and maintenance for a period of five years. Selected bidders must also prepare a site survey and a feasibility report for the project.</p>
<p>SJVN Green Energy, a wholly owned subsidiary of SJVN, <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/sjvn-green-floats-epc-tender-for-951-mw-solar-projects-in-maharashtra" target="_blank" rel="noopener">issued</a> an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) tender for setting up 951 MW of solar projects across Maharashtra under the Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana 2.0 program, aligned with the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) Component C. The 74 projects will be set up in three districts: Pune, Ahmednagar, and Solapur. Bids must be submitted by July 22, 2025. Bids will be opened on the same day. The scope of work encompasses the design, engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning of the solar projects. It also entails providing operations and maintenance services for three years.</p>

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has identified 17 GW of renewable energy potential in Karnataka.</p>
<p>The United States Senate <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/senate-passes-budget-bill-without-excise-tax-on-wind-and-solar-projects" target="_blank" rel="noopener">passed</a> the budget reconciliation bill that removes the proposed excise tax on wind and solar projects. The bill’s previous version included a tax of 50% on solar and 30% on wind projects commissioned after December 31, 2027, if they were constructed after the date of enactment and received material assistance from prohibited foreign entities. Material assistance restrictions would still apply for projects beginning construction after December 31, 2025. The final Senate version includes a key revision, wherein solar and wind utility-scale projects breaking ground within 12 months of the bill’s passage will still qualify for the full Section 48E Investment Tax Credit (and the Section 45Y Production Tax Credit.</p>

					</table><p><a href="https://hartek.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Hartek Group</a>, an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) company, has secured a contract worth ₹1.38 billion (~$16.05 million) from the Power Grid Corporation of India (<a href="https://www.powergrid.in/en" target="_blank" rel="noopener">PGCIL</a>) to develop a 400 kV air-insulated substation (AIS).</p>
<p>In February this year, PGCIL had <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/pgcil-wins-two-transmission-projects-in-karnataka-and-rajasthan" target="_blank" rel="noopener">won</a> the transmission project from <a href="https://www.pfcclindia.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">PFC Consulting</a>. This substation is part of the transmission program to integrate renewable energy zones in Davanagere, Chitradurga, and Ballari districts of Karnataka. The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has identified 17 GW of renewable energy potential in Karnataka.</p>
<p>The scope of work under this contract includes the design, engineering, procurement, construction, testing at the manufacturer’s works, supply, unloading, storage, erection, testing, and commissioning of the 400 kV AIS. The project will be delivered on a turnkey basis.</p>
<p>Hartek said that once completed, the substation will facilitate the seamless transmission of green electricity across the region, enhance grid stability, reduce transmission losses, and lower the overall cost of clean energy for end-users.</p>
<p>The company added that it has connected over 10 GW of solar power to the national grid and installed 200 MW of rooftop solar capacity across the country.</p>
<p>In May this year, Hartek Group <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/leading-solar-epc-companies-2024" target="_blank" rel="noopener">emerged</a> as one of the top utility-scale solar engineering, procurement, and construction service providers in 2024, according to Mercom’s recently released India Solar Market Leaderboard 2025 Report.</p>
<p>It bagged an EPC contract to develop a 300 MW ground-mount solar project in Rajasthan, valued at ₹4.7 billion (~$55.3 million) in 2024.</p>

The order comes after stakeholders submitted multiple representations, arguing that grid support charges imposed by electricity supply companies are inconsistent with the Electricity Act 2003 and may discourage captive power generation investments.</p>

<p>All India Institute of Medical Sciences Guwahati <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/aiims-guwahati-issues-eoi-for-2-mw-solar-power-project" target="_blank" rel="noopener">issued</a> an expression of interest for the installation and maintenance of a 2 MW solar power project at its premises under the renewable energy service company model. Selected bidders must design, engineer, supply, install, test, and commission the project and associated infrastructure.</p>
<p>The Cochin Port Trust, under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/cochin-port-trust-floats-tender-for-1-5-mw-floating-solar-project" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids to set up a 1.5 MW grid-connected floating solar power project at Willingdon Island Cochin Port Authority under the renewable energy service company model. The project’s estimated cost is ₹62.55 million (~$723,472). Selected bidders must survey, design, engineer, manufacture, supply, erect, and commission the project. They must also provide storage and conduct civil works for the project, and provide operation and maintenance services for 25 years.</p>
<p>Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy, the EPC arm of the Shapoorji Pallonji Group, <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/epc-growth-propels-sterling-wilson-to-fourth-straight-profitable-quarter" target="_blank" rel="noopener">posted</a> a net profit of ₹171.4 million (~$1.97 million) in the third quarter of the financial year 2025, swinging from a net loss of ₹623.9 million (~$7.21 million) in the same quarter last year. The third quarter profit marks the fourth consecutive quarter of profit for the company.</p>
<p>NHPC <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/nhpc-invites-bids-for-hydrogen-fuel-cell-buses-in-leh-and-himachal-pradesh" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids to procure three midi-intracity, 30-seater, hydrogen fuel cell electric buses for Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh. Selected bidders must design, engineer, manufacture, and supply three hydrogen fuel cell buses to Leh in Ladakh and Chamba in Himachal Pradesh. They must also provide freight and transit insurance and three-year comprehensive maintenance. The buses must be procured from Ashok Leyland, i.e., original equipment manufacturer of hydrogen fuel cell electric buses.</p>
<p>responsAbility, a Switzerland-based impact asset manager, <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/responsability-injects-20-million-in-ev-manufacturer-euler-motors" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> an investment of up to $20 million (₹1.7 billion) in New Delhi-based electric commercial vehicles manufacturer Euler Motors. The funding is part of responsAbility’s $500 million (₹42.5 billion) climate investment strategy to reduce CO2 emissions in Asia by supporting e-mobility solutions. Euler Motors aims to utilize the funding to scale production and expand its market presence in Tier 1 and 2 cities.</p>
<p>Ecozen, a Pune-based company focused on clean energy solutions, <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/clean-energy-tech-firm-ecozen-raises-23-million-in-debt-funding" target="_blank" rel="noopener">raised</a> over $23 million in debt funding. Investors for this round included responsAbility Investments, Northern Arc Capital, and Maanaveeya Development &amp; Finance. The company plans to use the funds to scale its current businesses and expand its operations within India and abroad. This round of investment will be directed toward scaling Ecozen’s flagship solutions, including Ecotron, Ecofrost, and advanced motor control systems. Ecozen recorded a compound annual growth rate of over 83% in revenue over the past three years.</p>
<p>Refex Green Mobility will <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/refex-green-mobility-to-take-over-2997-evs-from-gensol-engineering" target="_blank" rel="noopener">acquire</a> Gensol’s 2,997 electric vehicles and assume the associated debt of ₹3.15 billion (~$36.43 million). This strategic tie-up will involve Refex Group’s electric four-wheeler (e4W) fleet company, Refex eVeelz, assuming Gensol’s existing loan facility, streamlining operations, and enhancing the deployment of e4Ws across key markets, including Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Pune. Refex eVeelz plans to lease these vehicles to Blu-Smart Mobility, an electric mobility platform operating in Delhi NCR and Bengaluru.</p>
