					</table><p>Hyderabad-headquartered <a href="https://greenkogroup.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Greenko Group</a> has entered into a partnership with Belgium-based engineering company <a href="https://johncockerill.com/en/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">John Cockerill</a> for the supply of 140 MW alkaline electrolyzers for large-scale applications.</p>
<p>The electrolyzers will be used to develop a green ammonia project in Himachal Pradesh, India.</p>
<p>The project will be jointly developed by Greenko ZeroC, a subsidiary of Greenko Group, and John Cockerill to produce about 300 metric tons of green ammonia per day.</p>
<p>The 28 electrolyzer units of 5 MW each will be installed at the site in Una, Himachal Pradesh, and are expected to enable a hydrogen production capacity of 140 MW with 99.99% levels of purity.</p>
<p>The electrolyzers are due to be delivered in March 2024, and the project is set for commissioning by June of the same year.</p>
<p>Combined with its round-the-clock renewable energy solutions, utilization of the new electrolyzers will make it possible for Greenko to achieve a low Levelized Cost of Hydrogen (LCOH).</p>
<p>LCOH is a metric that indicates how much it costs to produce one kilogram of green hydrogen.</p>
<p>The two companies are also jointly developing a 2 GW per year electrolyzer manufacturing plant in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh.</p>
<p>Last year, Greenko ZeroC and POSCO <a href="https://mercomindia.com/daily-news-wrap-up-posco-greenko-produce-green-hydrogen/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">entered </a>a partnership to produce green hydrogen, ammonia, and other derivatives in India for domestic and export markets. The companies also seek to develop solar and wind capacity jointly. GZC’s pumped hydro storage platform and energy storage cloud will use the power generated to supply renewable energy to a green ammonia plant, leveraging POSCO’s hydrogen and ammonia experience</p>
<p>Mumbai-based engineering company Larsen &amp; Toubro recently <a href="https://mercomindia.com/daily-news-wrap-up-lt-partners-for-green-hydrogen-projects/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">signed</a> a  memorandum of understanding with the Norway-based H2Carrier to develop floating green ammonia projects for industrial-scale applications to decarbonize the global economy.</p>
