<p>Inox Wind, a wind energy solutions provider, has sealed a new deal for the sale of power from a 50 MW wind power project of the Solar Energy Corporation of India (<a href="http://www.seci.co.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">SECI</a>).</p>
<p>The project is located at Dayapur in the Kutch region of Gujarat. According to a Bombay Stock Exchange’s (BSE) filing, the strategic investor in the project is Adani Green Energy.</p>
<p>The project consists of 25 numbers of 2 MW wind turbines.</p>
<p>“The 2 MW wind turbines have one of the highest swept areas that make it ideally suited to maximize returns in low wind areas. Inox Wind’s Kutch site would become one of the largest wind farms in India post the execution of capacities won in different rounds of SECI and state auctions,” states the company.</p>
<p>Apart from the recent deal, Inox Wind has already commissioned 166 MW of wind projects for Adani, adds the BSE filing. Inox Wind’s manufacturing capacity currently stands at 1,600 MW per annum.</p>
<p><a href="https://mercomindia.com/inox-wind-supply-100-mw-wind-turbines-adani-wind-project-gujarat/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Back in 2017</a>, Inox had closed a deal to develop a 100 MW wind power project for Adani Green Energy in Kutch, Gujarat. Under this, Inox Wind had supplied, erected, and commissioned 50 of its advanced 2 MW wind turbine generators.</p>
<p>Then in <a href="https://mercomindia.com/siemens-gamesa-and-inox-wind-bag-massive-orders-in-india/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">February 2019</a>, Inox Wind had received a Letter of Intent from Adani Green Energy to supply, erect, and commission 501.6 MW of wind power projects won in the auction by the SECI.</p>
<p>According to the MNRE, cumulative wind power installations totaled <a href="https://mnre.gov.in/physical-progress-achievements" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">36.9 GW</a> as of September 2019. Since the inception of reverse bidding in India’s wind sector back in February 2017, <a href="https://mercomindia.com/over-9-5-gw-wind-auction-since-2017/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">approximately 12.5 GW</a> of wind power projects have been auctioned in the country. <a href="https://mercomindia.com/india-first-batch-ists-wind-commissioned/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">In August 2018</a>, the first batch of interstate transmission system-connected wind energy projects was commissioned in India.</p>
