Origis Energy, a U.S.-based renewable energy project developer, has <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/origis-energy-secures-900-million-corporate-credit-facility/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">closed</a> a $900 million corporate credit facility comprising $650 million in funded credit facilities and a $250 million letter-of-credit facility. First Citizens Bank, ING Capital, Natixis, and Santander served as joint bookrunners and coordinating lead arrangers for the transaction. EIG structured and acted as the sole purchaser of notes issued as part of the transaction.
Verse, an energy management platform, has <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/energy-management-startup-verse-raises-54-million/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">raised</a> $54 million in an oversubscribed Series B funding round led by Bessemer Venture Partners. GV, NVIDIA, Norrsken VC, and other investors also participated in the round. The company said the funding will support product development and deployment as it scales its platform to meet rising demand from data centers. Verse expects to onboard more than 100 sites over the next 12 months and expand the on-site battery capacity under its management.
Belgium-based battery materials startup Astracite has <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/battery-material-company-astracite-raises-1-3-million-in-investments/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">secured</a> €1.13 million (~$1.3 million) in funding and grant support. This includes an oversubscribed €750,000 (~$860,000) pre-seed financing round backed by CarbonFix, the ATechX Accelerator, IP Innovative Power, Carbon13, and angel investors, including Timothy Macken and Erol Íren. The remaining €380,000 (~$436,000) in grants was was provided by VLAIO, a Flemish government agency that supports innovation and entrepreneurship in Flanders, Belgium.
Create Energy, an advanced energy and electrical power system solutions provider, has acquired SOL Components, a solar mounting and tracker company, from Kloeckner Metals to expand its energy systems platform and solar tracker portfolio. The financial terms of the <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/create-energy-acquires-sol-components-from-kloeckner-metals/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">acquisition</a> were not disclosed. Kloeckner Metals, a subsidiary of Klöckner &amp; Co’s U.S., acquired SOL Components in October 2023. Create Energy said the acquisition will add the SOL Components tracker to its ONTRACK portfolio.
AXIAN Energy, an Arica-based renewable energy developer and a subsidiary of the AXIAN Group, has <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/renewable-energy-developer-axian-energy-secures-60-million/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">signed</a> a $60 million financing facility with Mauritius Commercial Bank, a financial institution operating in the Indian Ocean region. The agreement builds on AXIAN Energy’s existing relationship with MCB. The companies said the transaction supports infrastructure development and economic growth across Africa.
AXIAN Energy said it has expanded its renewable energy project pipeline over the past two years, with solar projects under development in Senegal, Benin, Zambia, Côte d’Ivoire, Madagascar, and Burkina Faso.
The company currently operates 350 MW of installed renewable energy capacity, supported by 77 MWh of energy storage capacity.
According to Mercom’s recently released Q1 2026 Solar Funding and M&amp;A <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/product/q1-2026-solar-funding-ma-report/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">report</a>, debt financing for the solar sector reached $8.9 billion across 28 deals, a 154% increase compared to the $3.5 billion secured in 23 deals in Q1 2025.
In May 2026, Greenvolt Group, a renewable energy project developer, <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/greenvolt-raises-81-million-through-additional-green-bond-issue/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">completed</a> an additional €70 million (~$81.4 million) issuance of its Green Bonds 2029, increasing the total size of the issue to €170 million (~$197.9 million). Greenvolt said the proceeds will support its growth strategy and the expansion of its international renewable energy business.

Renewable Energy Developer AXIAN Energy Secures $60 Million

S4 Energy, an energy storage project developer and a majority-owned subsidiary of Castleton Commodities International (CCI), has <a href="https://cms.mercomindia.com/s4-energy-to-acquire-310-mw-battery-energy-storage-portfolio-in-germany/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">agreed</a> to acquire a 310 MW portfolio of German battery energy storage projects from Terra One Climate Solutions, a Germany-based energy storage project developer. The portfolio comprises projects in shovel-ready and advanced stages of development and is expected to reach commercial operation between 2026 and 2028.
esVolta, an energy storage project developer, <a href="https://cms.mercomindia.com/esvolta-secures-110-million-financing-for-hummingbird-energy-storage-project/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">completed</a> a $110 million tax equity transaction with Greenprint Capital Management to develop and construct the 300 MWh Hummingbird battery energy storage project in San Jose, California. The project is under construction and is expected to be completed in 2025.
ACME Sun Power, a wholly owned subsidiary of ACME Solar Holdings, has <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/acme-secures-37-billion-loan-from-rec" target="_blank" rel="noopener">secured</a> a ₹37.53 billion (~$444.68 million) loan from REC Limited to develop 320 MW Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy projects in collaboration with SJVN. The project is located in high-resource potential regions, with the solar capacity situated in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, and wind power generation at Bhuj and Jam Khambhaliya in Gujarat.
Standard Solar, a developer and owner of commercial and community solar projects, <a href="https://cms.mercomindia.com/standard-solar-acquires-25-mw-solar-project-from-balanced-rock-power/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">acquired</a> 25 MWdc of the Windhub Solar B solar project in Kern County, California, from Balanced Rock Power, a renewable energy project developer. The project’s construction will begin in the first half of 2025.
Field, an energy storage project developer, <a href="https://cms.mercomindia.com/field-acquires-200-mw-800-mwh-battery-storage-project-in-the-uk/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> the acquisition of the 200 MW/800 MWh Hartmoor battery storage project near Hartlepool, England, UK, from independent project developer Clearstone Energy. According to Field, the project is expected to be operational in 2026 and will store up to 800 MWh of clean electricity.

<a href="https://www.axian-group.com/en/business-clusters/axian-energy/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">AXIAN Energy</a>, a renewable energy project developer, secured €84 million (~$89.69 million) financing for two solar plants with energy storage systems in the southern Senegalese region of Kolda. A group of lenders comprising the Dutch entrepreneurial development bank FMO, the Emerging Africa &amp; Asia Infrastructure Fund (EAAIF), and Deutsche Investitions- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH (DEG) provided the funding.
The overall investment volume is over €105 million (~$112.12 million), of which €84 million (~$89.69 million) is debt, with €30.5 million (~$32.5 million) provided by each EAAIF and FMO, and €23 million (~$24.56 million) by DEG. EAAIF and the FMO acted as co-mandated lead arrangers in the funding round.
The Kolda solar farm project will have an annual capacity of 60 MW and a 72 MWh battery storage capacity to supply power for up to three hours during peak times. The project is scheduled for completion in 2026. Once operational, the project is expected to provide clean electricity to approximately 235,000 people, according to AXIAN.
DEG Management Board member Monika Beck said, “This financing allows us to play an important role in helping to electrify rural areas in Senegal. The project is a prime example of the transformation from generating energy from fossil fuels towards cleaner, more sustainable, and more reliable energy. A stable power grid is decisive for the region’s development, creating jobs and paving the way for investments.”
According to Mercom’s 9M and Q3 2024 Solar Funding and M&amp;A <a href="https://cms.mercomindia.com/product/9m-and-q3-2024-solar-funding-and-ma-report/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">report</a>, large-scale project funding in  9M 2024 totaled $34.3 billion in 180 deals, up from $27.5 billion in 169 deals in 9M 2023.
Last month, Mainstream Renewable Power, a solar and wind project developer, announced the financial <a href="https://cms.mercomindia.com/mainstream-secures-financing-for-50-mw-solar-project-in-south-africa/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">closure</a> of its 50 MW Ilikwa solar project in the Free State province of South Africa. The power produced will be supplied to multiple private commercial and industrial customers under flexible, shorter-term power purchase agreements in a new-to-market product called Renewable Energy Supply Agreements.
