<p>The company’s advanced machine learning and AI-based edge computing approach detects the energy consumption of individual electrical assets and provides real-time analysis through its  Minion Analytics/SaaS platform.</p>
<p>The platform identifies anomalies, energy waste, cost-saving measures, operational efficiency, and policy violations and sends actionable notifications to save energy costs up to 45% annually.</p>
<p>The company won:–</p>

<p>Mercom India’s Summit this year added a new dimension by hosting its first startup pitch competition.  The competition brought together the most innovative startups in India&#8217;s clean energy industry.</p>
<p>It gave the startups a unique opportunity to showcase their innovative products and solutions to key players in the renewable energy industry, including potential investors, customers, and partners.</p>
<p>The competition was organized on April 27, 2023, at the Summit in New Delhi, and companies were notified of their selection by April 10, 2023.</p>
<p>The competition featured ten finalists selected from the numerous applications received from across the country. The finalists pitched their ideas to a panel of judges comprising eminent experts and leaders from the renewable energy sector.</p>
<p>An expert panel of judges featuring Shishir Garemalla, Head of International BD, <a href="https://www.pvel.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">PV Evolution Labs</a>; Sunil Cavale, Investment Associate at <a href="https://www.specialeinvest.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Speciale Invest</a>; Aswani Chaitanya, VP, Founder at <a href="https://www.capital-a.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Capital-A</a>; Sumeet Singh, Partner, <a href="https://climateangels.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Climate Angels</a>, and Raj Prabhu, CEO &amp; Co-Founder at <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mercom Capital Group,</a> selected the winner of the startup pitch competition based on four themes: team, innovation, traction, and competition.</p>
<p>The other nine finalists were <a href="https://www.xefficient.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">xefficient</a>, <a href="https://www.sundaygrids.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">SundayGrids</a>, <a href="https://suryalogix.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">SuryaLogix</a>, <a href="https://www.epickbikes.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Centaur Automotive</a>, <a href="https://igovidyouth.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">GoVidyouth Mobility</a>, <a href="https://www.renkube.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">RenKube</a>, <a href="https://tri-nano.co/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">TriNano</a>, <a href="https://electrikbee.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Electrik Bee</a>, and <a href="https://sheru.se/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Sheru.</a></p>
<p>The competition showcased the immense potential of the country&#8217;s startup ecosystem to innovate and address the pressing challenges. The Summit also gave the participants a valuable platform to connect with key industry players, investors, and partners.</p>
<p>Mercom&#8217;s first startup pitch competition for clean tech companies is a significant initiative to promote technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship in India&#8217;s renewable energy sector. The competition allows startups to gain visibility, grow their brand profile, and access potential investors, customers, and partners.</p>

MinionLabs Wins Mercom India’s First-Ever Startup Pitch Competition

					</table><p>Germany installed 2.6 GW of solar capacity in the first quarter (Q1) of 2023, a growth of 30% year-over-year from 2 GW installed in the same period last year, according to data released by the Federal Network Agency <a href="https://www.bundesnetzagentur.de/EN/Home/home_node.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Bundesnetzagentur</a>.</p>
<p>On a quarter-on-quarter basis, installations increased 62.5% from 1.6 GW.</p>
<p>The flagging renewable energy capacity in the second half 2022 prompted the German government to raise the tariff cap. The country’s efforts towards renewables were further spurred the fossil fuel crisis in the aftermath of Russia’s Ukraine invasion.</p>
<p>The dwindling interest from renewable developers in Germany’s projects adversely impacted all solar and wind auctions last year. In January, the German Parliament <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/germany-ups-ceiling-tariff-after-poor-response-to-renewable-auctions" target="_blank" rel="noopener">allowed</a> the Bundesnetzagentur to raise the tariff cap.</p>
<p>The country’s solar auction was recently <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/germany-solar-auction-oversubscribed" target="_blank" rel="noopener">oversubscribed</a> with 347 bids totaling 2.87 GW submitted for a tendered quantity of 1.95 GW of ground-mounted and non-building solar systems.</p>
<p>Last December, a 202 MW tender round was <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/germany-wind-and-solar-tenders-undersubscribed" target="_blank" rel="noopener">undersubscribed</a> <u><a href="https://mercomindia.com/germany-wind-and-solar-tenders-undersubscribed/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">corresponded</a></u> for solar systems on buildings and noise protection walls.</p>
<p>The country’s cumulative solar capacity stands at 69.1 GW.</p>
<p>The state of Bayern led the solar installations in the country with 617 MW installed during the year, followed by Nordrhein-Westfalen with 443 MW and Baden-Württemberg with 400 MW.</p>
<p>Germany, a top importer of Russian gas before the war in Ukraine, has been at the epicenter of the energy crisis in Europe since the war in Ukraine broke out.</p>
<p>The country is now leading the charge in the energy transition to renewables to meet the energy demands of its massive industrial sector.</p>
<p>Solar installations in the country lead the transition to renewables and are expected to grow considerably in the coming quarters.</p>
<p>While addressing a session at the 53rd World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2023,  German Chancellor Olaf Scholz <a href="https://mercomindia.com/german-chancellor-reaffirms-net-zero-2045/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reaffirmed</a> that the country’s renewable shift is well on track despite setbacks and has accelerated post the war in Ukraine.</p>
<p>Germany <a href="https://mercomindia.com/germanys-2022-solar-rises-35-lower-participation-bids/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">installed</a> 7.18 GW of solar capacity in 2022, a growth of 35.47% YoY from 5.3 GW installed in the preceding year. The country’s cumulative solar capacity at the end of the year stood at 66.5 GW.</p>

<p>The competition aims to bring together the most innovative startups across India’s clean energy sector.</p>
<p>To be eligible for the competition, startups must meet the following criteria:</p>
<ul>
<li>The startup must own a product or innovation that contributes to clean energy</li>
<li>Company must not be older than seven years</li>
<li>Company must not have previously sponsored any Mercom India Summit</li>
<li>Company should have raised less than $10 million in capital</li>
<li>Product/solution should be in the pre-commercialization phase</li>
<li>Company should be based in India</li>
</ul>
<p>Ten companies will be selected from the entries and shortlisted to present their ideas during the conference.</p>
<p>The deadline to submit an entry is March 31, 2023.</p>
