Pune-based engineering, procurement and construction services company SolarEra Green Renewables has announced plans to establish a 5 GWh annual capacity battery energy storage system manufacturing and integration facility in Talegaon Industrial Area near Pune, Maharashtra.

The company plans to invest ₹2.5 billion (~$26.38 million) in the facility, which is expected to be commissioned in July 2027.

SolarEra has secured a 180,000-square-foot industrial facility for the manufacturing operations. The project will be undertaken through its step-down subsidiary, Enercache Storage System.

The facility will focus on integrating battery energy storage systems using externally sourced battery cells. It will also incorporate SolarEra’s indigenously developed energy management system (EMS).

The company’s in-house EMS is designed to support battery monitoring, state-of-charge management, peak shaving, and renewable energy optimization. Grid interaction capabilities will depend on individual project configurations

The company plans to serve utility-scale renewable energy projects and commercial and industrial customers through the facility.

SolarEra’s existing operations include solar EPC; renewable energy project development; independent power production; and operations and maintenance services.

The company is involved in projects under Maharashtra’s Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana 2.0 and the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan programs.

SolarEra said the proposed manufacturing facility will support its existing renewable energy projects while enabling it to supply battery storage solutions to other customers..

According to Mercom India Research’s Q2 and 1H 2026 India’s Energy Storage Landscape Report, the country added 8.2 GWh of battery energy storage capacity in the first half of 2026, nearly 84 times the 98.4 MWh installed during the same period last year.

Corporate funding for energy storage companies totaled $8.9 billion across 73 deals in the first half of 2026, down 2% year-over-year from $9.1 billion across 55 deals in 1H 2025, according to Mercom Capital Group’s 1H and Q2 2026 Funding and M&A Report for Energy Storage.
