SJVN’s Solar and Wind Revenue Jumps 138% in Q4 FY 2025

Government-owned power generation company SJVN’s revenue for the fourth quarter (Q4) of the financial year (FY) 2025 dropped 4.18% year-over-year (YoY) to ₹5.49 billion (~$64.27 million) from ₹5.73 billion (~$67.08 million).

It incurred a net loss of ₹1.28 billion (~$14.98 million), compared to a net profit of ₹610.8 million (~$7.15 million) a year ago.

Earnings per share (EPS) came in at ₹0.32 (~$0.003), compared to ₹0.16 (~$0.001) in the same quarter of the previous year.

The company’s revenue from wind and solar power increased by 138.13% to ₹675.1 million (~$7.9 million) from ₹283.5 million (~$3.3 million) in Q4 FY 2024.

Revenue from the sale of power increased by 54.84% to ₹186.9 million (~$2.1 million) from ₹120.7 million (~$1.4 million) in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

Full Year Results

SJVN reported a consolidated revenue of ₹33.77 billion (~$395.34 million) in FY 2025, a 17.37% YoY increase from ₹28.77 billion (~$336.8 million).

Its net profit was ₹8.18 billion (~$95.76 million), dropping 10.2% from ₹9.11 billion (~$106.6 million) in the previous year.

The company’s EPS came in at ₹2.08 (~$0.024), compared to ₹2.32 (~$0.027) in FY 2024.

Revenue from hydropower stood at ₹27.13 billion (~$317.6 million), an 11.5% YoY increase from ₹24.32 billion (~$284.7 million).

SJVN’s revenue from wind and solar power increased by 114.9% to ₹2.3 billion (~$26.92 million) in FY 2025 from ₹1.07 billion (~$12.52 million) in FY 2024.

Revenue from the sale of power jumped by 88.06% YoY to ₹756.2 million (~$8.8 million) from ₹402.1 million (~$4.7 million).

The company’s subsidiary, SJVN Green Energy, is developing a 100 MW solar power project in Bikaner, Rajasthan. The project is expected to generate around 254 million units (MU) in the first year, supplying the generated power to the Rajasthan Distribution Company at a tariff of ₹2.62 (~$0.03)/kWh.

SJVN has 13 projects under operation and an operational capacity of 2,786.5 MW, along with two transmission lines.

It is constructing four hydroelectric projects with a total capacity of 1,558 MW and 11 solar projects with a total capacity of 1,773 MW. Its under-construction project capacity has reached 4,601 MW.

The company has also operationalized 320 MW of the solar project’s total capacity in Bikaner. It commissioned the second phase of the 78 MW capacity in May 2025. The balance capacity is expected to be commissioned by October 2025.

SJVN has floated tenders for 7.5 GW of renewable energy power projects and has awarded 2.4 GW of these projects so far.

In FY 2025, the company added 190 MW of solar energy capacity. It plans to add 680 MW of capacity by September 2025.

In Q3 FY 2025, SJVN’s revenue rose to ₹7.61 billion (~$87.52 million), a 25% YoY increase from ₹6.08 billion (~$69.92 million). Revenue from renewable energy sources increased 265% YoY to ₹530.2 million (~$6.09 million) from ₹145.3 million (~$1.67 million).
