Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam (RRVUNL) has invited bids to install 4.5 MW rooftop solar systems on 44 buildings and civil structures at Suratgarh Thermal Power Station and Suratgarh Supercritical Thermal Power Station in Sriganganagar, Rajasthan.

The estimated cost of the work is ₹204.5 million (~$2.19 million).

The last day to submit the bids is April 15, 2026. Bids will be opened on April 17.

Bidders must furnish an earnest money deposit of ₹4.09 million (~$43,873) along with a bid document fee of ₹29,500 (~$316).

Selected bidders must furnish a construction performance bank guarantee equivalent to 10% of the order value, excluding operation and maintenance (O&M) costs, within 15 days of notice to proceed.

They must also provide an O&M performance bank guarantee of 10% of the total O&M cost, payable 90 days before the commissioning date.

Bidders must complete the commissioning of the entire allocated capacity within 8 months from the date of issue of the letter of award.

The scope of work includes site survey, detailed engineering, design, supply of equipment, installation, testing, and commissioning of the rooftop solar systems. Selected bidders must also handle all associated infrastructure, such as mounting structures, inverters, cabling, protection systems, metering, and grid integration, and obtain the necessary approvals and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.

They must also carry out comprehensive O&M of the rooftop solar systems for 2 years from the commissioning date.

Bidders must have experience in designing, supplying (modules and inverters may or may not have been part of their scope), installing, testing, and commissioning grid-connected solar power plants with a total installed capacity of at least 2 MW.

Of these, at least one project should have a capacity of 200 kW or more and must have been successfully operational for at least one year before the bid submission deadline.

Bidders should have a minimum average annual turnover of ₹100 million (~$1.07 million) during any three out of the last five audited financial years. They must also have a positive net worth.

India’s rooftop solar capacity grew to 7.1 GW in the calendar year 2025, an over 123% year-over-year jump from 3.2 GW in 2024, according to Mercom India Research’s Q4 & Annual 2025 India Rooftop Solar Market Report.
