Railways Invites Bids for 2.9 MW Rooftop Solar Projects in Delhi Division

The Ministry of Railways has invited bids for setting up 2.9 MW rooftop solar projects across various stations, service buildings, residential complexes, and level crossing gates in the Delhi Division.

The projects’ advertised value is ₹180.7 million (~$204,790.56).

Bids must be submitted by November 4, 2025. Bids will be opened on the same day.

Bidders must furnish an earnest money deposit of ₹1.05 million (~$11,832.91).

The scope of work includes the complete design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of on-grid solar systems.

These systems must be equipped with solar modules, mild steel hot-dipped galvanized mounting structures, suitable power conditioning units, array and main junction boxes, AC and DC distribution boards with switchgear, armored power and control cables, remote data monitoring systems, earthing systems, and lightning and surge protection.

The scope also involves providing comprehensive annual maintenance for five years after the warranty period.

Only modules complying with the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers must be used for the project.

The systems must be installed within 12 months.

Bidders must have completed any of the following works:

  • Three similar works, worth at least 30% of the advertised value
  • Two similar works, worth at least 40% of the advertised value
  • One similar work, worth at least 60% of the advertised value

Similar works are defined as design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning for solar projects or solar hybrid systems of 50 kW or above.

Bidders must have an average annual contractual turnover of at least V/N or V (whichever is less), where V is the tender’s advertised value, and N is the number of years prescribed for project completion.

Recently, the Ministry of Railways invited bids to set up 1,733 kW grid-connected rooftop solar projects on its service and residential buildings at the Goshala and Nambari areas in Guwahati, Assam.
