Railways Floats Tender for 1.2 MW Rooftop Solar Projects in Andhra Pradesh

The Ministry of Railways has invited bids to set up 1.235 MW of rooftop solar projects at the A, B, and suburban railway stations in Andhra Pradesh’s Guntakal division.

Bids must be submitted by November 10, 2025. Bids will be opened on the same day.

The tender’s advertised value is ₹109.83 million (~$1.25 million).

Bidders must furnish an earnest money deposit of ₹699,200 (~$7,965.91).

The scope of work entails the design, installation, testing, and commissioning of the solar projects. It also involves providing annual and comprehensive maintenance services for five years, including cleaning.

Selected bidders must provide pure sine wave inverters, remote monitoring systems (including SIMs for five-year connectivity), and fixing structures. They must also provide lightning arrestors, proper earthing, net metering, controls and protections, interconnect cables, and cable trays and switches.

Successful bidders must supply hot-dip galvanized iron mounting structures and power conditioning units (consisting of a maximum power point tracker). They must also undertake the civil works for the projects.

Additionally, the scope includes providing underground, aluminum, armored, cross-linked polyethylene, 1.1 kV, four-core cables ranging from 25 mm2 to 400 mm2 in size. Selected bidders must also provide copper, PVC-insulated and sheathed, 1.1 kV, four-core flexible multicore cables.

The solar systems must utilize Mono PERC crystalline panels.

The projects must be completed within nine months.

Bidders must have successfully or substantially completed any of the following works in the last seven years:

  • Three similar works, each costing at least 30% of the projects’ advertised value
  • Two similar works, each costing at least 40% of the projects’ advertised value
  • One similar work, costing at least 60% of the projects’ advertised value

Bidders must have a minimum average annual contractual turnover of V/N, or V, whichever is less. Here, V stands for the tender’s advertised value, and N stands for the number of years prescribed for the work’s completion.

Recently, the Ministry of Railways invited bids for setting up 2.9 MW rooftop solar projects across various stations, service buildings, residential complexes, and level crossing gates in the Delhi Division.
