NTPC Renewable Energy Commissions 165 MW at Khavda-II Solar Project

NTPC Renewable Energy, a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy (NGEL), has commissioned 165 MW capacity at the 1,200 MW Khavda-II Solar Project in Gujarat.
Recently, the company announced that the first 210 MW of the 1.2 GW Khavda-II Solar Project has begun operations.
With the latest commissioning, NGEL’s total commercial capacity has grown to 8.99 GW.
The Khavda-II Solar Project is being implemented as part of the group’s large-scale solar expansion portfolio.
NGEL has strengthened its portfolio through the acquisition of Ayana Renewable Power via the ONGC NTPC Green joint venture. The acquired platform has a total capacity of 4.1 GW, comprising 2,624 MW of operational assets and 1,939 MW of contracted and awarded projects.
As of December 31, 2025, NGEL’s total portfolio stood at 32,637 MW. including 8,010 MW of operational capacity, 15,527 MW of contracted and awarded projects, and 9,100 MW of pipeline projects. The operational capacity comprises 7,293 MW of solar and 717 MW of wind.
In January this year, NGEL commissioned 300 MW of the 500 MW total capacity at the Bhadla solar project in Phalodi, Rajasthan. The commercial operation of the commissioned capacity commenced on January 13, 2026.
In December 2025, NGEL announced the commercial operation of 69.04 MW at the Khavda-I Solar Project in Gujarat. The capacity represents the eighth instalment of the 1,255 MW project being developed under the Phase-II Tranche-III of the Central Public Sector Undertaking program.
In the same month, the company commissioned 243.66 MW of the same project. In November, it operationalized 75.5 MW and 95.75 MW.
In another development, Surat-based renewable solutions provider, KPI Green Energy, has commenced power generation and supply from its 200 MW solar power project at the 1.8 GW Gujarat State Electricity Corporation’s Solar Park (South Block) in Khavda.
