NTPC Green Energy, NLC India, and Adani Green Energy have cumulatively commissioned 321.6 MW of solar projects in Gujarat and Rajasthan.

NTPC Green Energy

NTPC Green Energy has commissioned 130.47 MW out of the 1,255 MW Khavda-I Solar project in Gujarat under the central public sector undertaking (CPSU) program’s Phase-II of Tranche-III.
After the latest commissioning, NTPC Green Energy’s commercial capacity stands at 8478.25 W.

Last year, NGEL commissioned 243.66 MW of the same project in Gujarat.

Earlier this month, NGEL commissioned 300 MW of the 500 MW total capacity at the Bhadla solar project in Phalodi, Rajasthan.

NLC India

NLC India has fully commissioned the 300 MW solar project in Barsingar, Bikaner, Rajasthan, with a final-phase capacity of 141.17 MW.

NLC India’s total renewable energy capacity now stands at 1,766 MW.

Last year, NLC India commissioned 106 MW as part of the second phase of the same project.

Adani Green Energy

Adani Green Energy Twenty Six A, a wholly owned step-down subsidiary of Adani Green Energy (AGEL), has operationalized a 50 MW solar project at Khavda.

Post commissioning the project, AGEL’s total operational renewable generation capacity rose to 17,287.2 MW.

Last year, AGEL operationalized 307.4 MW of renewable energy projects through its step-down subsidiaries at Khavda.

In the same year, AGEL operationalized 87.5 MW of solar capacity at the 30 GW renewable energy project.

Solar power accounted for 25.1% of India’s total installed power capacity and 51% of the total installed renewable capacity as of September 2025. The solar capacity installed increased by 7.5% quarter-over-quarter and 37.5% year-over-year. India’s renewable energy capacity, including large hydroelectric projects, made up 49.1% of the country’s cumulative power capacity, with 245.1 GW installed at the end of the third quarter of 2025, according to data from the Central Electricity Authority, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, and Mercom’s India Solar Project Tracker.
