The Northern Railway, Ambala Division, has invited bids for setting up 1,000 kW on-grid solar projects across multiple locations in Haryana.

Bids must be submitted by January 29, 2026.

The estimated cost of the project is ₹58.8 million (~$710,000).

Bidders must furnish an earnest money deposit of ₹444,100 (~$5,350).

The project involves the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of a 1,000 kW on-grid solar project without battery backup at station buildings, service buildings, and level crossing gates at various locations under the Ambala Division in Haryana.

The scope also covers mounting structures, DC and AC cabling, junction boxes, interfacing panels, a monitoring system, and all associated accessories.

Bidders must have experience in the design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of solar projects or solar hybrid systems of at least 50 kWp capacity.

Within the last seven years, bidders must have completed either three similar works each of at least 30% of the advertised value, or two similar works each of at least 40%, or one similar work of at least 60% of the advertised value.

Bidders must have a minimum average annual contractual turnover of V/N or V, whichever is less, where V is the advertised tender value of ₹58.8 million (~$710,000) and N is the number of years prescribed for completion, based on audited financial statements of the last three years

The contract includes a comprehensive annual maintenance contract for three years. The total contract completion period is 69 months, which includes the installation phase and the comprehensive annual maintenance contract period. Work must commence within 15 days of the order’s issuance.

Only modules from the latest Approved List of Models and Manufacturers must be used.

Last July, the Ministry of Railways issued a request for qualification to empanel agencies to implement 1 MW rooftop solar projects for Bihar’s Samastipur Division under the East Central Railways.

In February 2025, the Northern Railway, Moradabad division, issued two tenders to set up solar projects with a combined capacity of 2.791 MW at residential and service buildings and level crossing gates.
