Mizoram Invites Bids for 56 MW Solar Projects in Five Districts

Mizoram’s Power and Electricity Department has invited bids to select solar power developers for setting up grid-connected solar power projects with a cumulative capacity of 56 MW across five districts in the state.

The projects covered are located at Tlabung Tlang in Mamit, Bawkmual in Champhai, Denlung Ram in Hnahthial, Tumtuitlang in Serchhip, and Dawhzau Zau in Saitual.

Bids for all the tenders must be submitted by November 25, 2025. Bids will be opened on November 26.

Mamit (6 MW)

The tender is for the 6 MW solar project at Tlabung Tlang, Lallen, Mamit district.

Bidders must furnish an earnest money deposit (EMD) of ₹6 million (~$$72,000), a document fee of ₹1,500 (~$16.93), and a bid processing fee of ₹2,500 (~$28.21).

The successful bidder must submit a performance bank guarantee (PBG) of ₹15 million (~$$180,000).

Champhai (10 MW)

This tender is for a 10 MW project located at Bawkmual, Hmunhmeltha, in Champhai district.

Bidders must submit an EMD of ₹10 million (~$120,000). The document fee and the bid processing fee are ₹2,500 (~$28.21).

The successful bidder must submit a PBG of ₹25 million (~$300,000).

Hnahthial (10 MW)

Bids are invited for the 10 MW project at Denlung Ram, Hnahthial district.

The document and bid processing fees are ₹2,500 (~$28.21) each, with an EMD of ₹10 million (~$120,000). The successful bidder must submit a PBG of ₹25 million (~$300,000).

Serchhip (10 MW)

This tender is for a 10 MW project at Tumtuitlang, Serchhip Vengchung in Serchhip district.

The document and bid processing fees are ₹2,500 (~$28.21) each, with an EMD of ₹10 million (~$120,000). The successful bidder must submit a PBG of ₹25 million (~$300,000).

Saitual (20 MW)

Bids are invited for a 20 MW solar project at Dawhzau Zau, Lamzawl, in Saitual District.

Bidders must submit an EMD of ₹20 million (~$240,000), a document fee of ₹5,000 (~$56.43), and a bid processing fee of ₹2,500 (~$28.21). The successful bidder must submit a PBG of ₹50 million (~$600,000).

All the projects must be fully commissioned within 24 months from the effective date of the power purchase agreement.

The projects will only promote commercially established and operational solar technologies to ensure reliability and timely commissioning. Bidders must specify their proposed technology and its details at the time of bid submission.

Bidders must have a net worth of at least 20% of the estimated cost of the quoted capacity as of March 31, 2025.

The maximum tariff payable to the project developer is ₹4.80 (~$0.054)/kWh for 25 years under all the tenders.

Liquidated damages of PBG amount X (18/180) will apply in case of delay in commissioning the projects beyond the scheduled commercial operation date.

Recently, ITI, a public sector undertaking under the Department of Telecommunications, invited expressions of interest to implement a 5 MW grid-connected solar project at Sumsuih in Mizoram.
