ITI, a public sector undertaking under the Department of Telecommunications, has invited expressions of interest to implement a 5 MW grid-connected solar project at Sumsuih in Mizoram.

Bids must be submitted by May 13, 2025. Bids will be opened on the same date.

Bidders must furnish an earnest money deposit (EMD) of ₹2.5 million (~$29,350) and a tender fee of ₹3,000 (~$35.22).

Selected bidders must submit a performance bank guarantee of 5% of the total work order value, valid for 12 months from the agreement signing date. Their EMD may be adjusted towards this performance security.

The scope of work entails the design, engineering, erection, testing, and commissioning of the project. It also involves procuring and supplying equipment and providing comprehensive operation and maintenance services for five years.

Project delays will attract liquidated damages on a pro-rata basis.

Bidders must have commissioned on-grid, off-grid, or hybrid solar projects with a minimum capacity of 1.5 MW in the last five years before the bid submission date.

They must provide  work completion certificates and work or purchase orders issued by government or semi-government agencies, such as Settlement Nodal Agency, Solar Energy Corporation of India, distribution companies, or other authorities.

Bidders must have a positive net worth close to the previous financial year. They must also have a minimum average annual turnover of ₹300 million (~$3.52 million) over the past three financial years.

In January this year, ITI issued a tender to procure 738,000 polycrystalline solar cells.

In the same month, ITI issued a tender for establishing a 500 MW fully automatic solar photovoltaic module manufacturing line on a turnkey basis at ITI Limited, Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.

ITI also issued an expression of interest to set up 2 MW off-grid rooftop solar systems across Odisha.
