Nextpower Arabia, the newly formed joint venture between Nextpower and Abunayyan Holding, announced it will supply 2.25 GWp of advanced solar tracking systems to Larsen & Toubro (L&T) for the Bisha Solar project. This project was procured by the Saudi Power Procurement Company as part of Saudi Arabia’s National Renewable Energy Program Wave 6 initiative, and it is overseen by the country’s Ministry of Energy. Located in Saudi Arabia’s Asir Province, Bisha is the largest of the Wave 6 solar projects. The 2.25 GWp order is the first major project to be delivered through the Nextpower Arabia joint venture.

Oman’s Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ) signed a usufruct agreement with Mawarid Turbine to establish a wind turbine manufacturing and assembly plant in the Special Economic Zone at the country’s town of Duqm. OPAZ also signed two additional agreements to install six wind turbines to generate the power required to operate the facility. Under the agreements, Mawarid Turbine has been granted usufruct rights over three plots of land. The first plot will be used for constructing the wind turbine manufacturing and assembly plant. The second will be used to install one wind turbine, and the third will be used to install five wind turbines. Additionally, the company plans to reserve additional land to support future expansion of the project.

Al-Zawraa General Company, part of Iraq’s Ministry of Industry and Minerals, signed a new contract to supply, install, and operate a hybrid solar power plant for the Arab Oil Training Institute. The hybrid project will have a solar capacity of 120 kW and a 122 kWh battery storage system. Muhannad Jabbar al-Khazraji, Director General, Engineer at Al-Zawraa, stated that this project is the second such hybrid project implemented by the company for the Arab Oil Training Institute. Al-Zawraa had earlier installed a 113 kW solar system at the institute.
