MAHAPREIT Invites Bids for 2 MW Rooftop Solar Projects in Maharashtra

Mahatma Phule Renewable Energy and Infrastructure Technology (MAHAPREIT) has invited bids to set up 2 MW rooftop solar projects under the renewable energy service company (RESCO) model at buildings of the Valsad District Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union in Nagpur, Maharashtra.

The last date to submit bids is February 10, 2026. Bids will be opened on February 11.

Bidders must furnish an earnest money deposit of ₹225,000 (~$~$2,482)/MW and a bid guarantee fee of ₹112,500 (~$1,241).
They must also submit a tender fee of ₹10,000 (~$110) plus 18% GST.

The scope of work covers the design, engineering, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of the projects.

It also entails operations and maintenance for 25 years.

The projects must use modules and cells listed in the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) and List-II.

The projects must be commissioned within 12 months,

Successful bidders must have designed, supplied, installed, and commissioned grid-connected solar projects with a cumulative capacity exceeding 1 MW. Additionally, they must have designed, supplied, installed, and commissioned at least one grid-connected solar project exceeding 500 kW.

Bidders must either have a network of at least ₹2.5 million (~$27,570) in the last two financial years or a minimum annual turnover of ₹10 million (~$110,280) in the last three years.

Last year, MAHPREIT issued a request for proposal to implement 500 MW of rooftop solar projects at multiple locations in Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, and Andhra Pradesh.

In the same year, it also issued a tender for land development and power evacuation works for a 3 MW solar project with a 33 kW substation for the National Cancer Institute, Nagpur, Maharashtra.

NLC India Renewables, a wholly owned subsidiary of NLC India, signed a joint venture agreement with MAHAPREIT to develop 5,000 MW of renewable energy projects in Maharashtra. These projects will span solar, wind, hybrid systems, floating solar, battery energy storage systems, and pumped storage, with an initial focus on developing 500 MW in the first phase.
