Infrastructure engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) company Jakson Infra, part of the Jakson Group, has secured a power distribution project from Angola’s Ministry of Energy and Water.
The project is being executed under the World Bank-supported Electricity Sector Improvement and Access Project.
The project is valued at $62.22 million.
The contract covers the design, supply, installation, and commissioning of works to rehabilitate distribution networks in Luanda, the capital of Angola. It also entails end-to-end execution, including engineering, procurement, installation, and commissioning of distribution network systems.
The project aims to improve electricity reliability and access in the city.
Jakson Infra has executed more than 20 extra-high-voltage substations and electrified nearly 600,000 homes in India. Its offerings include turnkey solutions across power transmission and distribution, metro electrification, water, and civil infrastructure.
Last year, Jakson Engineers signed an agreement with European technology provider Ecoprogetti to set up a solar module recycling plant in India. The company also announced an investment of over ₹80 billion, approximately $930.23 million, to establish a 6 GW integrated solar manufacturing facility at Maksi Phase II in Madhya Pradesh.

Apart from solar, Jakson Green is investing in green hydrogen sector. Last year, the company won Solar Energy Corporation of India’s auction to supply 85,000 tons per annum of green ammonia under the Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition program.
In 2024, Jakson Engineers announced an investment of $240 million to develop a 2.5 GW solar cell manufacturing plant. The company also plans to expand its 1.2 GW module manufacturing facility in Greater Noida to 2 GW.
