Commercial and industrial (C&I) businesses across India are increasingly turning to renewable energy solutions as a strategic response to rising electricity tariffs, grid reliability concerns, and sustainability mandates.

Rooftop solar and open-access renewable power have emerged as preferred options for factories, business parks, institutions, and large residential complexes, offering long-term tariff certainty, lower operating costs, and reduced dependence on the grid.

Nashik, one of Maharashtra’s fastest-growing industrial centers, is emerging as a key location for clean energy adoption, owing to its concentration of engineering, auto components, pharmaceuticals, textiles, and food processing units.

Mercom India has been hosting the C&I Clean Energy Meet series across Indian cities and will host the first event of the 2026 series in Nashik on January 9, 2026.

The event focuses on rooftop and open access solutions and is designed exclusively for commercial and industrial energy buyers. The event aims to provide decision-makers with practical information on clean energy technologies, regulatory provisions, and financing options that enable cost reduction and supply security.

Registrations for the day-long event will begin at 9:30 AM, followed by an inaugural session from 10:35 AM to 10:55 AM.

The first panel discussion, titled “Harnessing the Green Route to Reducing Electricity Bills,” will feature Rounak Muthiyan, Director at Kalpa Power, and Bhavya Master, Sales Lead for India and Global Head of Marketing at Candi Solar, focusing on rooftop solar adoption and cost reduction strategies.

This will be followed by a session on “Switching to Renewable Energy and Optimizing Savings,” featuring Jayant Mhetar, CEO of Ztric India, and Rahul Makahaniya, Chief Marketing Officer at Soleos Energy, who will discuss renewable procurement models and savings optimization.

After a short networking tea break, Kalpa Power, Candi Solar, and Ztric will present their case studies on consumer clean energy adoption examples, savings, and procurement plans.

The case studies will be followed by the third panel discussion on “Attractive Financing Options – Easy and Affordable Green Loans,” featuring Rajesh Deshmukh, DGM and Zonal Manager of Bank of Maharashtra, and Sangram Sathe, Relationship Manager, SME, State Bank of India, will highlight financial instruments supporting clean energy investments.

The event will include a networking lunch break and conclude with a Q&A session from 03:00 PM, enabling direct interaction between C&I consumers and solution providers on technical, regulatory, and financial aspects of clean energy adoption.
