Gujarat Industries Power Company (GIPCL) has invited bids for the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) package with land for up to 500 MW of solar power projects anywhere in the state.

The scope of work includes identification, acquisition, and complete transfer of ownership or lease of encumbrance-free land to GIPCL. The developer must also identify and arrange grid connectivity to the Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation substation.

The developer will also be responsible for all the EPC work of the project, along with performance testing for guaranteed generation at the interconnection point.

The selected developer must also oversee the projects’ operation and maintenance (O&M) for five years from the date of commissioning.

The last day to submit the bids is April 2, 2024. Bid opening date is yet to be decided.

Bidders must submit an earnest money deposit of ₹300,000 (~$3,618)/ MW.

The selected bidders must furnish 10% of the project cost as performance bank guarantee. Subsequently, the bidders should also submit the O&M bank guarantee equivalent to 5% of the EPC contract price.

Bidders should have developed or designed, supplied, erected, or supervised the commissioning or commissioned grid-connected solar power projects with a cumulative capacity of 40 MW or higher. Out of this, at least one project should have been of 10 MW or higher capacity at a single location, and it must have been in operation for at least six months before the bid opening date.

Bidders applying for projects in Madhya Gujarat Vij Company  (MGVCL) territory with evacuation at 11 kV in the MGVCL grid should have commissioned grid-connected solar power projects with a cumulative capacity of 10 MW or higher. Out of this, at least one project should have been of 4 MW or higher capacity at a single location, and it must have been in operation for at least six months before the bid opening date.

The average annual turnover of the bidders should not be less than ₹15 million (~$180,940)/ MW for the last three financial years.

The bidders’ net worth as of the last day of the preceding financial year should be positive.
