MNRE issues ALMM operating procedures for wind and wind turbine components

InSolare Energy won Solar Energy Corporation of India’s (SECI) auction to supply the balance of system (BoS) package for a 600 MW/1,200 MWh standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) project in Kolimigundla, Nandyal District, Andhra Pradesh. The tender was issued in August this year. The scope of work includes the design, engineering, procurement, supply, testing, civil works, installation, erection, commissioning, and performance demonstration of the BoS components with comprehensive operation and maintenance for five years.
The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy issued standard operating procedures for the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers Wind (ALMM-Wind) and the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers Wind Turbine Components. For a wind turbine model to qualify for ALMM-Wind, it must possess a valid type certificate issued by an accredited certification body. The certificate must clearly identify the associated components like blades, towers, gearboxes, generators, and bearings. These elements must conform to the relevant technical and performance standards.
The Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission issued the terms and conditions for determining tariffs for renewable energy projects, renewable purchase obligations, and renewable energy certificates. The regulations will come into force on April 1, 2026, and remain in effect until March 31, 2029. These regulations will apply to all grid-connected renewable energy projects and obligated entities in Haryana.
Aiming to lower electricity expenses and advance its sustainability goals, Bhuvee Stenovate, which manufactures and trades in kitchen utensils, sinks, and other general utility steel products, commissioned a 999.9 kW rooftop solar project at its facility in Kharagpur, West Bengal. The installation, executed by Galaxy Solar Energy, features 1,818 Premier 550 Wp modules paired with 7 GoodWe 120 kW inverters and an Aluminum T6063 Mono-Rail mounting structure of 75 mm height × 120 mm length. Together, the components ensure high conversion efficiency and long-term system reliability.
Nagpur-based MOIL, a state-owned manganese-ore mining company, invited bids for a 15 MW grid-connected solar project at Rajgarh Khas in Madhya Pradesh. Bids must be submitted by December 2, 2025. Bids will be opened on December 4. The scope of work includes the design, engineering, procurement, and commissioning, followed by five years of O&M services after a one-year warranty or performance demonstration period.
The Telangana Power Generation Corporation invited bids to prepare detailed project reports for solar projects of a cumulative capacity of 57 MW. The last date to submit bids is November 19, 2025. Bids will be opened on November 20. Bidders must furnish an earnest money deposit of ₹8,332 (~$94). They must submit a transaction fee of 0.03% of the contract value up to ₹10,000 (~$113) if the quoted value is up to ₹500 million (~$5.6 million), and up to ₹25,000 (~$283) if the estimated value is above ₹500 million (~$5.6 million).
Solar module manufacturer Alpex Solar will invest ₹31.36 billion (~$353.77 million) to upgrade its 2.2 GW cell manufacturing facility from Mono PERC to TOPCon in Kosi Kotwan, Uttar Pradesh. The company had earlier proposed to manufacture 1.6 GW of MONO PERC cells at the facility. Under Phase I, Alpex aims to achieve 1.4 GW capacity for G12R TOPCon solar cells. It plans the trial production of these cells by the first quarter of the financial year (FY) 2027. Under Phase II, it proposes to install the remaining 800 MW capacity within six months of completing Phase I.
Data center company Nxtra Data, a subsidiary of Bharti Airtel, will procure power from a 13.2 MW solar project in captive mode from AMPIN Energy C&I Sixteen, a special purpose vehicle (SPV) of AMPIN C&I. The project will be developed in Dighol-Islamnpur district, Maharashtra. AMPIN C&I is a joint venture between independent power producer AMPIN Energy Transition and Japan-based Sumitomo Corporation. Nxtra has entered into an agreement with the SPV to acquire a 35% equity stake for an aggregate value of ₹51.92 million (~$586,788).
Larsen & Toubro (L&T), in partnership with Hitachi Energy, has been nominated by transmission system operator TenneT to deliver high voltage direct current converter stations for offshore wind projects across the German and Dutch sectors of the North Sea. L&T’s power transmission and distribution vertical also won a batch of grid infrastructure orders in Saudi Arabia as part of the country’s National Renewable Energy Program.
U.S.-headquartered manufacturer of glass for industrial and scientific applications, Corning, operationalized a solar ingot and wafer facility, co-located with its polysilicon manufacturing plant in Hemlock, Michigan. Corning brought the facility on stream in the third quarter (Q3) of 2025. During its Q3 earnings call, the company said it activated its idle assets to meet domestic polysilicon demand. “We added the capability to transform our polysilicon into higher-value, domestically made solar wafers, all integrated together on our campus in Michigan,” said Wendell Weeks, CEO at Corning.
