ANERT invites bids to produce green hydrogen from biomass

The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) ruled that the Goods and Services Tax (GST) rate increase notified on 30 September 2021 qualifies as a ‘Change in Law’ event under the Power Purchase Agreement dated August 20, 2021, between Thar Surya 1 and the Solar Energy Corporation of India. The Commission ruled that Thar Surya 1 is entitled to compensation for the additional project cost arising from the increase in GST rates applicable to solar power generating systems.

The Agency for New and Renewable Energy Research and Technology (ANERT) invited bids for the development of pilot projects to produce green hydrogen from biomass. The selected bidders may also be considered for implementation under ANERT-led initiatives, including pilot projects, hydrogen valley innovation cluster programs, or relevant programs of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. The last date to submit bids is January 23, 2026, and shortlisting will take place on or before January 27, 2026.

The NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam floated a tender to set up 1,250 kW of rooftop solar projects across multiple facilities of Bharat Earth Movers in Karnataka and Kerala. Selected bidders must install rooftop projects of 530 MW and 270 MW, respectively, at BEML’s Kolar and Mysore facilities in Karnataka. They must also install a 450 MW rooftop solar project at BEML Palakkad in Kerala. Bids must be submitted by February 5, 2026. Bids will be opened on February 6.

Telecommunications Consultants India invited expressions of interest to select a consortium partner for implementing a 120 MW Solar project at Wobthang in Bhutan. The bids must be submitted by January 30, 2026. Bids will be opened on the same day. The scope of work includes the design, supply, installation, testing, engineering, procurement, and construction of the solar project, with operations and maintenance requirements.

The Solar Energy Corporation of India invited bids to install 5,665 kW rooftop solar projects under the renewable energy service company model on 14 government buildings (Tranche-VIII). The last date to submit bids is February 17, 2026. Bids will be opened on February 20. Alternatively, they can submit a letter of undertaking from Power Finance Corporation or REC holding the organization responsible for paying the PBG amount if it is encased.

Gurgaon-based independent power producer ACME Solar Holdings commissioned an additional 12 MW of wind power capacity at its wind project located in the Surendranagar district of Gujarat, taking the project’s total operational capacity to 68 MW out of the planned 100 MW being commissioned in phases. The project is being developed through its subsidiary, ACME Eco Clean Energy.

LNK Energy launched an integrated clean energy platform, with a planned investment of ₹100 billion (~$1.1 billion) over five years. LNK Energy’s areas of operation include advanced manufacturing, green fuels, and renewable energy generation. The company’s first project is a 6 GW solar cell and module manufacturing facility with integrated ingot and wafer production to be set up on over 60 acres at Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Maharashtra, for which it has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Maharashtra government.

Dalmia Cement, a wholly owned subsidiary of Dalmia Cement Bharat, sold its entire 25.44% stake in renewable energy solutions provider O2 Power’s special purpose vehicle O2 Renewable Energy V for ₹108.2 million (~$1.2 million). The company had acquired the stake in the SPV to source 11 MW of wind energy from its project in Karnataka as a captive consumer.

IREDA Global Green Energy Finance IFSC (IGGEFIL), a wholly owned subsidiary of the government-owned lender, Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency, approved its first international green energy loan, marking the formal start of its overseas financing operations. IGGEFIL approved a loan of $22.5 million to Swarna Solar for the development of a 100 MW solar project in the Serenje District of Zambia’s Central Province.

Surat-based renewable energy solutions provider, KPI Green Energy, received orders from Adani Green Energy and Adani Green Energy Six to supply goods and provide on-site services under the Balance of System package for 534 MW solar power projects at Khavda, Kutch, Gujarat. The scope includes end-to-end BoS supply activities (manufacturing, procurement, transportation, testing, spares, and consumables), as well as onsite services such as installation, civil, mechanical, and electrical works, testing, commissioning, and performance guarantee testing.
