Building a fully integrated solar manufacturing ecosystem from polysilicon and wafers to cells and modules became a strategic priority for India’s clean energy and industrial ambitions. This session explored the progress made in expanding downstream capacity and examined the investment, technology, and policy measures required to strengthen upstream integration. Panelists addressed capacity requirements, supply chain resilience, cost competitiveness, infrastructure readiness, and export potential, and evaluated how India could develop a vertically integrated and globally competitive solar manufacturing value chain.
