Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) has floated two tenders to install and commission rooftop solar projects with a cumulative capacity of 4 MW at two thermal power plants in Uttar Pradesh.

The last date to submit the bids for both tenders is November 1, 2022. Bids will be opened on the same day.

1.5 MW rooftop tender

The first tender is for 1.5 MW of rooftop solar power projects at the Jawaharpur superpower thermal plant in the Etah district of Uttar Pradesh.

Bidders will have to submit ₹150,373 (~$1,818) as an earnest money deposit (EMD) and an amount equivalent to 5% of the total contract value as a security deposit.

The project must be completed within seven months.

Bidders should have executed at least one project of value not less than ₹5.097 million (~$61,639), which should include the erection, testing, and commissioning of a power project of a minimum capacity of 500 kW or installation and commissioning of an electrical package consisting of a minimum 11 kV LT/HT panel capacity or a minimum capacity of 220 kVA transformer or cabling work in the last seven years.

Alternatively, bidders should have executed two projects of value not less than ₹3.185 million (~$38,517) each, which should comprise the erection, testing, and commissioning of a solar power system of 300 kW or the installation and commissioning of an electrical package as mentioned above in the last seven years.

Bidders can also participate in the bidding process if they have executed three projects of value not less than ₹2.548 million (~$30,814) each, which should comprise the erection, testing, and commissioning of a solar power system of 200 kW or the installation and commissioning of an electrical package mentioned above in the last seven years.

The average annual financial turnover of the bidders should be at least ₹1.911 million (~$23,110) over the last three financial years. Their net worth should be positive at the end of the last financial year.

If the contractor fails to complete the work on time, BHEL will have the right to impose liquidated damages at the rate of 0.5% of the total contract value for per week of delay, subject to a maximum of 10% of the contract value.

Bidders will have to submit ₹197,900 (~$2,393) as EMD and an amount equivalent to 5% of the total contract value as a security deposit.

The project must be completed within nine months.

Bidders should have installed and commissioned at least one project of value not less than ₹6.708 million (~$81,122), which should include the erection, testing, and commissioning of a power project of a minimum capacity of 500 kW or the installation and commissioning of an electrical package consisting of a minimum 11 kV LT/HT panel capacity or a minimum capacity of 220 kVA transformer or cabling work in the last seven years.

Alternatively, they should have installed and commissioned two projects of value not less than ₹4.192 million (~$50,695) each, which should comprise the erection, testing, and commissioning of a solar power system of 300 kW or the installation and commissioning of an electrical package mentioned above in the last seven years.

Bidders can participate in the bidding process if they have executed three projects of value not less than ₹3.354 million (~$40,561) each, which should comprise the erection, testing, and commissioning of a solar power system of 200 kW or the installation and commissioning of an electrical package mentioned above in the last seven years.

The average annual financial turnover of the bidders should be at least ₹2.515 million (~$30,415) over the last three financial years. Their net worth must be positive at the end of the last financial year.
