Module manufacturer Australian Premium Solar has commissioned a 400 MW module manufacturing plant in Sabarkantha, Gujarat.

The plant will produce tunnel oxide passivated contact (TOPCon) solar modules.

With the commencement of this manufacturing plant, the company has advanced its efforts to expand TOPCon production capacity by 800 MW. The company plans to operationalize an additional 400 MW by April 2026.

The module manufacturing capacity expansion will help the company meet the growing domestic and global demand for high-efficiency solar modules. The plant will also cater to both utility-scale and distributed solar projects.

Nikunjkumar Chimanlal Patel, Chairman and Executive Director at Australian Premium Solar, stated that the new capacity will help the company achieve its targeted 75% compound annual growth rate in revenue.

Australian Premium Solar had an existing module manufacturing capacity of 700 MW. It has installed over 5,500 solar water pumps.

Apart from manufacturing TOPCon modules, it also specializes in producing monocrystalline modules. The company also provides its services in engineering, procurement, and construction.

In September 2025, the company received a purchase order valued at ₹1.09 billion (~$ 12.25 million) for solar modules and inverters.

According to the Mercom India research report, “State of Solar PV Manufacturing in India 1H 2025”, 44.2 GW of solar module capacity and 7.5 GW of solar cell capacity was added in India in the first half (1H) of 2025. The manufacturing capacity additions in 1H 2025 were primarily driven by strong demand from the large-scale solar project pipeline of 186 GW between 2025 and 2027.

The module manufacturing capacity also increased due to the 2030 solar installation targets and policy-driven domestic demand for solar modules that comply with the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM).

In October 2025, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy updated the ALMM for solar modules, announcing a capacity addition of 6,922 MW. The cumulative capacity of modules under ALMM stands at 116,467 MW.
