Wind turbine manufacturer Senvion India has secured an additional $100 million (~₹9.53 billion) in direct capital funding from Alfanar Group to support its technology development, manufacturing operations, business growth, and project pipeline.

The funding will also support the development of the company’s project pipeline through its Senvion Certified Sites offering. The company received the first tranche of $34 million (~₹3.2 billion) in August 2026.

Alfanar Group expects to complete the remaining funding within the next few weeks.

In 2021, Saudi Arabia-based renewable energy projects developer Alfanar acquired a 100% stake in Senvion India from Senvion GmbH.

Senvion India has operated in India since 2016 and manufactures wind turbines. The company has an annual manufacturing capacity of approximately 1.5 GW and an operational fleet exceeding 1.6 GW across the country. It also operates an in-house research and development facility.

The company has deployed wind turbine platforms with rotor diameters of 120 meters, 130 meters, and 160 meters. Its turbine portfolio has power ratings ranging from 2.3 MW to 4.2 MW.

Jamal Wadi, Chairman of Senvion and President of Alfanar Projects, said India is central to Alfanar Group’s renewable energy strategy.

Senvion said its objective is to develop wind technology platforms in India for domestic and international markets.

Shreyas B. Suvarna, CEO of Senvion, said the funding would support additional research and development, the introduction of new turbine technologies, and customer support across the 25-year lifecycle of wind assets.

In February 2026, Senvion India won an order from Tata Power Renewable Energy to supply and install 83.7 MW of wind turbines.

In 2025, Senvion India signed a framework agreement with KPI Green Energy, KP Energy, and KP Green Engineering to jointly develop up to 2 GW of wind and wind-solar hybrid projects across India over the next three years.
